The death of Donald Carrier occurred suddenly in London, Ontario on Monday October 21st, 2013 at the age of 81. Born in Lorne NB, he was the son of the late Francis (Frank) & Laura (Francoeur) Carrier.  He was predeceased by his wife, Cora (Levesque).  Donald is survived by his sons, Dean of Montreal QC; Blaine (Connie) of London ON, Terrance (Ofelia) of Montreal QC; and his daughter, Brenda Carrier (Peter Marenghi) of  Kapuskasing ON; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; his brothers Joe (Florence), Murray (Dorothy); and his sister, Eva Gallen (Herman); as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.  Donald was predeceased by his siblings: Elric, Elias, Abraham, Nora, Edgar, Stanley, Ethel, Allison, Kenneth, Leo and Eldon. Donald worked for over thirty years as a miner with Noranda Mines.  He began working for Gaspé Copper Mines at a young age, and stayed with the company when it became Mines Gaspé.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator and frequently referred to his job as having been one of the best jobs a man could have.  He raised his family in the town of Murdochville QC, and kept fond memories of the town and his life there.  Upon his retirement he relocated to Belledune NB and in more recent times he lived with his son, Blaine, in London. His funeral will be held from St. Maria Goretti Church, Lorne Saturday October 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. with visitation Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Lorne Funeral Parlour.
