Cann - photo croppedPeacefully after a short illness, at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario, on Friday, April 4, 2014, George Brown Cann, age 82, born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and long time resident of Sarnia, Ontario.   Predeceased by loving wife of 50 years, Janice (Green) Cann. Devoted father of her four children: Brian (Carla) of Port Huron, MI; Bradford (Darlene) of Aurora, ON; Stephen (Sandra) of San Marcos, CA and Karen of Holland Landing, ON. George is proud of his 8 grandchildren: Gillian; Victoria; and Hugh Cann of Port Huron; Connor and Jacob Cann of Aurora; Dante Potter and Kelvin (Johnnie) Alston of San Marcos, CA; and Dallyn Cann of Holland Landing. George is also proud of his great-grandson: Brockton Alston. George was a graduate of Acadia University in Wolfville, NS and McGill University in Montreal, QC. After graduation, George enjoyed a progressive, 36-year career with Imperial Oil in Sarnia. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., preceded by a short visitation at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul’s United Church, 360 Devine Street, Sarnia.
