Surrounded by his loving family at his side at the age of 91. He passed away at home on Thursday June 27, 2013. Cherished husband of Loretta for 65 years. Beloved son of the late Archille and Emilie. Loving father of Lionel (Joan), the late Terry (Janet), Kathy Suzor (Mike), Charles (Diane), Lucille Mykytiuk (Mark), Paul (Mary-Jo), Mary Bontront (Jean-Louis), Tim (Becky). Cherished Pépé of 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Felix (Bernice), Cecile Leboeuf (the late Adrien), Henriette Ruggaber (the late Gord), Denis (Sylvia), Maurice (Rosemary). Pre-deceased by siblings Florence, Agnes, Alec (Shirley), Leonard (survived by wife Theresa), Josephine Wilder (Stan), Charles, Joanne Begin. Loved brother-in-law of Regina Chauvin (the late Moise), Pauline Esipu (the late Mike), Beatrice Campeau (the late Arsene), Bernard Wilder (the late Elda), Yvonne Ruggaber (the late Herman), Corinne Tetreault (the late George), Annette Meloche (the late Don). Pre-deceased by brothers and sisters-in-law Aurelle (Doris), Alice Dame (Charlie), Agnes Laporte (Art), Norm Wilder (survived by wife Rita), Lionel Wilder (survived by wife Rebecca). Gene taught his family the values of faith and perseverance which will be a lasting tribute to him. The family wishes to thank Dr. Matt Scholl and Sue, also the caregivers and staff from Hospice, CCAC, St. Elizabeth’s and Bayshore. Gene was an employee of Chrysler Canada for 35 years and was retired for 32 years. In kindness, donations to the War Amps would be greatly appreciated by the family. On Tuesday, family and friends are invited to Ste- Anne’s church after 11:30am, with family eulogy at 12:45pm followed by a celebration of Gene’s life at 1pm. Cremation to follow.
