BUTLER: Elspeth – passed away at Oak Terrace Orillia, on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the age of 94 years. Elspeth (Jewett) Butler was the beloved wife of the late James Edward Butler (2015).  Cherished mom loved by daughter Sue Butler. Predeceased by her brother and sister in law Edwin (Cathy) Jewett. Loved aunt to Barbara Oakes and great aunt to Robin and Wendi. Remembered by her many great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her longtime dear friend Miye Matsuoka.  She was known for her kindness and caring to others, her warmth and bright smile, infectious sense of humour, not to mention her love of dogs and chocolate. Elspeth volunteered her time to many organizations but in particular in her younger years she volunteered to St. John Ambulance, and received the Serving Sister award from the Governor General of Canada. Elspeth was an artist in oil, water colors and sumi-e also the past president of the Mississauga Sumi-e society. Special thanks to all the staff at Oak Terrace for all their warmth care and support.  A memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church 58 Peter St. N. Orillia on Friday October 6, 2017 at 2 P.M. Because of Elspeth’s love towards all dogs, and all animals, in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Orillia SPCA or St. James Anglican Church Orillia.
