Burns, James Anthony of St. Thomas and formerly of Timmins/Iroquois Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 6th, 2014, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Shirley (Percival) Burns and loved father of David (Terri) Burns, Shawn (Teresa) Burns, Kathy (Mark) Liznick and Jennifer Burns. Dear brother of Sheila (Barry) McCusker, Terrance (Georgina) Burns, Thomas (Carolyn) Burns, Beverly Burns and the late Jack ( Debbie). Loved grandfather of Melissa, Kaylin, Sarah, Cody, Nicholas, Nigel and Trevor and great grandfather  of Liam, Hailey, James and Kyla. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews.  Jim was born in Haileybury, Ontario on September 27th, 1939, the son of the late Harold and Muriel (Wynands) Burns.  He was a retired electrician with Abitibi. Jim was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Saturday morning and then to St. Anne’s Church for Mass of the Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:30-9:00  p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the London Regional Cancer Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
