BURGIN, Mrs. Lucille (nee Smith), of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at her residence, the Valleyview Home on Thursday, October 16, 2014, in her 94th year, following a long, difficult battle with dementia. Wife of the late Harold Burgin (1979). Loved mother of James “Jim” Burgin (Joyce) of St. Thomas. Loving grandmother of Monica Uffen and proud great grandmother of Brodie and Briana Uffen, all of St. Thomas. Also fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Lucille was predeceased by her parents, Charles and May (nee Rowe) Smith, a special aunt, Reta Rowe, a sister, Margaret Cummings (late Scoop), and by three brothers, Preston (late Emma), Fred (late Winnie) and Jack Smith (late Marge). She was born in St. Thomas on August 21, 1921.
