Too dearly loved ever to be forgotten

Brubacher, Charles (Chuck) Leverne passed away peacefully at Mississauga Hospital (part of Trillium Health Partners) on Monday, April 24th, 2017.

Lovingly remembered by Roberta Alene Brubacher (Longfield), his wife of 54 years. Treasured father of Blair Brubacher (Karen Ashforth), and Lisa Brubacher (Jeff Cairns). Proud grandfather of Bennett, Cameron, Jacob and Madeline. Caring uncle to David Hunter (Rosalind Güldner). He was predeceased by his beloved sister Candace Harvey (Brubacher).

Chuck was born in Kitchener, Ontario, March 5th, 1937. He was the son of the late Harry Brubacher and Isabel Brubacher (Wright).

Chuck spent his formative years in St. Thomas, working in his parents’ hardware store and attending St. Thomas Elgin Collegiate Institute. During this time, Chuck developed a love for wilderness canoe tripping. His post-secondary studies took him to Western University. By the time he graduated, he had two new passions, Roberta and improving emergency medical care and transportation. As his family grew, so did his passions, first for his children, then his grandchildren. In his retirement, driver training and safety became another passion. Throughout his life, Chuck’s focus on serving others, has touched many lives.

Thanks to the medical staff of Trillium for their dedication and compassionate care of Chuck.

A celebration of Chuck’s life will take place this Saturday, April 29th at 1:00 pm at St. James United Church, 400 Burnhamthorpe Road, Etobicoke. The visitation is at 1:00 pm, followed at 2:00 pm by the service and reception.
