BROWN: Ruth Mary (nee Hemstreet) of Sarnia

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.

Peacefully, surrounded by her family at Bluewater Health on Sunday, April 1, 2012, Ruth Mary Brown (nee Hemstreet) passed away at the age of 88. Survived by her six children: John (Virginia), Mary Pitts, Maureen Faulkner (Steve), Tom (Linda Harvey), Tim (Karen) and Kathleen Hughes (Garth).  Cherished Grandma Darlin’ of: Craig Brown (Becky), Dan Brown (Katia), Nicole Brown (Mike Busch); Shaun Pitts (Yasmin Hamid), Stephanie Mazza (Peter); Kyle Faulkner (Katie), Nicholas Faulkner, Blake Faulkner, Emily Faulkner; Taylor Brown, Erin Brown; Cory Brown (fiancée Kristen Everson), Cameron Brown, Christopher Brown; and Laura Hughes, Connor Hughes and Justin Hughes.  Great-grandma Darlin’ of Clara, Lily, Noah, Keira, Grayson, Leena, and Noelle. Survived by wonderful sisters-in-law Catherine Hemstreet and Jean Hemstreet.  Ruth is also survived by her special “sister” and husband, Sally and Frank Dunn. Further survived by “countless” loving nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by brothers Martin Hemstreet and wife Dorothy, Francis Hemstreet and wife Theresa, Jack Hemstreet and Bert Hemstreet.  Ruth will be truly missed by all of her dear friends including Diane Lebreton, Loreley Beaulac, Elsie Corrigan, Jessie Cahill and Jean Maidment, and long-time friend of 83 years, Marjorie Johnson. Special thanks to her homecare helper and friend April White, Dr. Lori Kolano, and the wonderful nurses and staff on the Palliative Care Unit at Bluewater Health. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Smith Funeral Home, with family and friends being received one hour prior.  Cremation to follow.
