Our mother passed away April 15th, shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday. She was born March 30th, 1922 County Cork, Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1946. Just hours before her passing, the whole family was visiting and comforting her, and singing her beloved Irish songs. Marion was a devoted mother to Dean Stutz nee Brouse, Toronto, and Billie Brouse, New York City. She was predeceased by Carl Brouse (1999) and her mother, Ellen Hodge (1994). Marion loved swimming and ballroom dancing especially during the war. She was an active member of Bokhara Court, Shriners since the 1960’s. As a skating mother, Marion’s enthusiasm for skating spilled over to her children in their younger years at the Brant Figure Skating Club. She also enjoyed curling and golfing at the Brantford Golf and Country Club. Marion owned Belle Boutique hair salon in West Brant, then changed careers to follow her passion of real estate working with PJ Harvey, Louis Karmiris and Century 21 BWG. She later moved to Oakville and then Toronto to be closer to Dean, her husband Brian and their daughters Sterling Kathleen and Blair Alexandra. Marion was a beautiful person and lived her life with style, dignity and grace. She had a loving smile and great sense of humour. Marion loved to work with her hands and has made countless items of sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlework and loved to teach others. Her handiwork was impeccable. Her thoughtful, loving spirit will always be remembered in our hearts and memories, as she was a blessing to all her knew her. Cremation has taken place.
