BROKENSHIRE, Mrs. Jean (nee Wallis), of St. Thomas, formerly of R.R.7, St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of James M. Brokenshire. Dearly loved mother of Lois Hamilton (Jim) of St. Thomas. Cherished grandmother of Meg Moore (Greg) of St. Thomas, Kenzie Dennis (Jason) of Frome, Dr. James Brokenshire (Dr. Andrea Brokenshire) of Toronto, and Dr. Paula Brokenshire (Dr. Brandon Van Torre) of St. Thomas. Proud great grandmother of Grayson and Kerris Moore, Mitchell and Jack Dennis, and Sadie Brokenshire. Dear sister of Gwendolyn Hepburn of R.R.1, St. Thomas, Marion McKenzie of London, and William Wallis of St. Thomas. Also fondly remembered by in-laws, Stanley and Diane Brokenshire of Agincourt, and Lila Brokenshire of Dutton, daughter-in-law, Pat Baker of St. Thomas, as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son, William Brokenshire and a sister, Betty Wallis. Born in Talbotville, ON, December 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Margaret (nee Meek) Wallis. Jean was a former employee of P.R. Locke Insurance, St. Thomas. She was a life member of Talbotville United Church, as well as a life member of the U.C.W. of the church. The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care that Jean received at Extendicare, Port Stanley and Elgin Manor, R.R.1, St. Thomas. A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at Talbotville United Church, 10734 Sunset Road, Talbotville on Saturday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the church hall. Following cremation, a private family graveside service will be held at Elmdale Memorial Park. If so desired, memorial donations to Talbotville United Church or the STEGH Foundation (re: Digital Mammography Unit) will be appreciated.
