BROADWORTH: Myrtle May of Belleville and formerly Stirling
Broadworth, Myrtle May – in her 101st year, went peacefully home to her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, October 12, 2013.Born in Moira (West Huntingdon) April 17, 1913, Myrtle was the daughter of the late William and Eliza Jane (Chatterton) Wannamaker.She is predeceased by her husband Kenneth McCauley Broadworth (d.1987). Ken and Myrtle farmed in the Stirling area for many years before retiring.Myrtle wrote many songs and poems expressing her faith in God, many of which were published.She is predeceased by her only son John William Broadworth, her siblings and their spouses, Clifford Wannamaker (Louise), Elville Wannamaker (Ella), Cecil Wannamaker (Olive), Leatha Homan (John) and Pearl Scott (David).Beloved Aunt of Clare Homan, Clifford Scott, Paul Scott, Roger Wannamaker, Jane Ashcroft, Ruth Callery, Phillip Wannamaker, Robert Wannamaker, Jennifer Scott and Jo-Anne (Conley) Wheeler.
A celebration of life will be held at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira St. West (613-968-2273) on Wednesday October 16th; visitation at 11:00 am, followed by a service in the chapel at 12:00 pm.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Myrtles memory to the Quinte Bible Chapel or Hastings Manor Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
