BRAIDEN, Mrs. Madaline (nee Flummerfelt), formerly of St. Thomas since 1952, passed away peacefully at her residence, Middlesex Terrace, R.R.#1, Delaware on Thursday, March 7, 2013, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late A. H. “Harry” Braiden (2003). Dearly loved mother of Richard Braiden and his wife Kristine of Kitchener, Michael Braiden of Nova Scotia, Susan Orpana of London, Barrie Braiden and his wife Heather of Jackson’s Point, Robert “Bob” Braiden and his wife Lisa of London, Al Braiden, John Braiden and his wife Roxanne, all of St. Thomas, and Mary Beth Braiden of London. Also survived by a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Eileen “Lynn” Stanisick predeceased her. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, July 24, 1918, she was raised by the late Harry and Mary Flummerfelt of Toronto. Madaline was a Roman Catholic by faith. She formerly enjoyed volunteering at Metcalfe Gardens, St. Thomas. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Monday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 12th at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice gratefully acknowledged.
