web_Brackell_WilliamNovember 16, 1921-April 20, 2013 We sadly share with you the loss of our father, William Harry Brackell (He used to tell the children in the neighbourhood that he was named after his father’s chest). Loving husband of his beloved Mavis Jane (1992) and dear friend and companion of Jeanne Amsden. Best dad ever to daughter, Jane Holmes and sons, William and Robert. Proud “Gramps” of Robert, Gregory, Benjamin, Lindsay, and Jennifer and his special gift, great-grandson, Avin Russell William. Dad was born and grew up on the Eleventh Concession in Sandwich South where he had a wonderful childhood with his parents, Arthur and Iva Pearl, his brother, Arthur (Bud), and his sisters Alice, Thelma, Caroline, and Joyce. He is remembered fondly by his sister-in-law Vera Brackell, his sweet “little sisters’ Jean Gut and Joan Little, his brothers-in-law Ed Gut, Wayne Little, Harold Robinson and sister-in-law Dianna, and William Varga. Dad was a proud retiree after forty years with Chrysler Canada where as an industrial engineer, he kept his guys on the clock. Thank you to “Uncle Wayne” for sharing his gift of music with Dad and his neighbours. Thank you as well to Oak Park and The Village of Aspen Lake for their caring kindness. Special thank you to Part One and Part Two and all the staff on Sandwich Towne for their love and compassion toward “Big Bill”. Donations in Dad’s memory may be made to St. David’s Anglican Church or the Walker Homesites Athletic Club. He was so proud to be a founding member of both. He gave so much and expected so little. Visitation Wednesday 2-5pm & 7-9pm. Funeral Service Thursday 11:30am at FAMILIES FIRST 1065 LAUZON RD. East Windsor (519-969-5841). Private family interment at Fairbairn Cemetery.
