BLEWETT – A wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Norma Emily (Tapp) Blewett, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, on February 23rd, 2014. She was 98 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Harold Blewett (1993). Loving mother of Jacqueline (Jacki) Dawdy and her husband, Bob and cherished grandmother of Denise Pinnegar (Barry Radford) and Janet Ballantyne (Phillip). Precious great-grandmother of Martha, Curtis, Rachel and Mitchell Pinnegar and Brennan, Emily and Devin Ballantyne. Survived by a sister, Doreen Fisher of Thunder Bay and sister-in-law, Joan Blewett of Toronto, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, George Tapp and Jack Tapp and one sister, Helen Poulin all of Thunder Bay. Norma was born October 5th, 1915 in Port Arthur to the late Norman and Dorcas (Jones) Tapp. She was a member of Yarmouth Centre United Church, and until later years was involved in the U.C.W. Norma enjoyed her hobbies – sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting, giving all her family handmade gifts of love. Special thanks to Dr. David Dougherty for his care and home visits and Pastor Don Macpherson for his spiritual support. Also thanks to Red Cross Supervisors and the many P.S.W.’s who visited Norma as caregivers and friends. V.O.N. nurses and E-Shift P.S.W.’s were also appreciated. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas on Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 for visitation from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Followed by a private family service with Pastor Don Macpherson officiating. Interment in Elmdale Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation, Yarmouth Centre United Church or the charity of your choice.
