Berg, Peggy webBERG, Margaret “Peggy” (Nee Marguerite Louise Box)

On May 24, 2014, Peggy passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 89. Dear wife of the late Russell Berg (2004), beloved mother of Rita Twose (John) and Garry Page (Maria). Beloved Grammie of Ryan Twose (Maya) of Chicago, Dr. Richelle Twose (the late Richard Bogart) of Toronto, Kathleen Twose (Wally Cutts) of Niagara Falls, Conrad Page (Charlie) of Toronto, and Meghan Page (Peter) of Niagara Falls. Great Grammie to Owen, Amelia, Elijah, and Sophie and special aunt of Jillian Wilson (Harry). Predeceased by her parents Louise and Edward Box and brother Kenneth Box. Peggy was born in Toronto on March 27th, 1925 and moved to England in 1937.  In 1941, at the age of 17, Peggy entered the British Royal Air Force where she served bravely until the age of 21. After the war she married Montague “Monty” Page. Peggy returned to Canada with her young family in 1948.Peggy worked at the Greater Niagara General Hospital for 30 years before retiring in 1990. Peggy was an animal lover. She also enjoyed travel, bridge, square dancing and fellowship at both the Coronation Centre and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 479.   Special thank you to PSW’s, Lois and Lauren.  The family will receive friends at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main St., on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  A memorial service under the auspice of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 479 will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. A service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 11 a.m.  Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to either  the ALS Society of Canada or to the S.P.C.A. of Niagara.
