Beatrice “Bea” Bender, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover Care Centre, Hanover on Thursday, September 25, 2014. She was 96.
Born in Carlsruhe to the late Enoch and Emma (nee Lantz) Metzger. Bea along with her husband Grant owned and operated County Town Fabrics where she kept occupied along with raising her family. She was a member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Normanby and enjoyed fellowship as well as playing cards avidly with friends.
Survived by daughters Joan Hetherington of Hanover, Bonnie (Dennis) Parass of Fonthill and her son Wayne (Beatrice) Dobson of Ottawa, grandchildren Jan (Richard) Gebhardt, Julie (Chris) Brown, Chris (Jaana) Dobson, Debbie (Ken) Holbrook, TJ (Kathy) Parass, Matthew (Jennifer) Parass and Melody (Colin) Orr and many great grandchildren. Bea was loved by her husband Arno’s family Martin (Connie) Bender, Rosemary (Wayne) Dupuis, Sharon Bender and their extended “Bender” Family. Fondly remembered by her sister Verna (John) Reid of Hamilton. Predeceased by her first husband Grant Dobson, second husband Arno Bender and son in law Jim Hetherington.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:00 am, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Normanby. Pastor Becky Klages officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
