On Tuesday, October 16, 2012, Marie Bayly (Roberts) slipped away peacefully to be reunited with her belated husband of 11 years and the love of her life Jim Bayly at the age of 75. She was aware of her end drawing near, facing it with bravery and dignity. Marie was kept comfortable at home and eased through her final journey with the help and guidance from the Palliative Team, VHA, CCAC, and Bayshore Home Health. She will be sorely missed and warmly remembered by the many friends and acquaintances who had the privilege of spending time with her during her final years. She was known for her kindness and warmth which she shared with everyone she met. Marie loved her family every second of her life and the ones that chose not to be with her she loved from a distance. Nothing could ever change the love she felt, only her ability to express it. Marie is survived by her daughter Susan Bayly, her grandsons Chris and Sean and her great-granddaughter Arianna. She is also survived by her daughters Colleen Atkinson and Katherine Douma and their families, and by her brother Clayte Roberts. Special thanks go to her nurse Michelle, PSW’s Chrystal, Lyndsay, and Lia, Dr. Rankin, Dr. Maddison and the many very special people that made Marie’s final wishes possible. Remember Marie Bayly, she was a gentle soul. Cremation has taken place. There will be no services held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
