Suddenly at home on May 24, 2017 of Creemore in her 13th year. Adored by her parents Jessica Stephenson(Jason Ferguson) and Dale(Leia) Lundy of Creemore. Loving sister to Stephanie, Cole and Nick Lundy, Luke, Troy and Kloe Ferguson. Much loved by proud grandparents Wendy(Martin) Wickens, Glen(Sheila) Lundy, Eldon(Shirley) Ferguson. Spirited niece of Lindsay(Dustin) McIntyre, Lisa(Jeff) Bullock, Katie Stephenson, Matthew Wickens, Tiffany McFaul, Andrew Taylor, Donny(Rachelle)Lundy and Darryl(Jen) Lundy. Ayla will be deeply missed by cousins Drew and Evan McIntyre, Brayden, Blake and Kortney Bullock, Mya Madill, Haley and Jack, Samantha, and Matthew Lundy.
Ayla loved her 4-H club and had great pride in showing her sheep. Beyond her passion for agriculture she loved sports, spending many hours playing hockey and baseball as well as biking and swimming; a happy, friendly young lady who loved to dance, listen to music and was a great friend to many.

Rakestrow (Thygesen), Laura Janet – 52 years of Barrie, passed away at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, ON after a short courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, May 18th, 2017. Born November 18th, 1964 in South Porcupine, she is the daughter of Corinne (Collins) and the late Jens Thygesen. She is survived by her husband Thomas Rakestrow and his parents: Tim and Norma Rakestrow. She is the loving mother of Amanda and Logan, plus Nan to Brett. She is the sister of Gord Thygesen and Bonnie (Thygesen) Prophet; sister-in-law to Gelsa DeOliveira Thygesen, Lorri (Rakestrow) Nash, Sherri (Rakestrow) Visser and husband Bob, and Dawn Rakestrow. She is aunt to James and wife Marichu, Andrew, Kristen, Amber, Michael, Joshua and Clyde and step-aunt to Amanda, Alessandra, and Sabrina, plus great-aunt to Maya, Kayla and Franchesca. Laura is niece and cousin to many in the Thygesen, Rakestrow and Collins families plus a good friend to many personal friends, neighbours and co-workers. Laura expressed her desire to see heaven and waits for us there. Our peace and comfort will be in knowing that she wishes this for all she knew. Thank you to the Cancer & Palliative Care Unit, Dr. S. Died peacefully on Saturday May 13, 2017 surrounded by her family at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood at the age of 35.  Lindsay of Collingwood, loving daughter of Christine (Kent Constable) and James (Debbie) Eberhardt and of step-father Steve Miller.  Much loved fiancé of Remo Romolo.  Cherished sister of Jaclyn Miller, Steven Miller (Felicia Currie), Natasha Ballance, Kyle Miller (Katie Collver) and the late Jesse Ballance.  Dear aunt of Jaylin, Justin, Lucas, Isaias, Gabrielle, Ryker and Grayson.  Loving granddaughter of Ruby and the late Jim Eberhardt and Carolene Black and the late Ralph Richardson.  Lindsay was a free spirit whose strong will and fighting spirit allowed her to endure two liver transplants during her short but full life.  Her independence and love for her family and her friends will live on.  Lindsay was truly one of a kind! We will miss our friend – Randy Clifford Cushing passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 working on his sailboat (his happy place). Born May 22, 1954, Randy was the beloved husband of 39 years to Karen (nee Gorham) and the proud father to sons Rory and Brook. His family was his unwavering priority. Randy appreciated and cherished the simple things in life.  He always had a smile and a kind word for those he met. Always the first to offer his help, Randy had more friends than he even knew.  Randy lived the life he loved, and loved the life he lived. May his memory live on through the kindness of others. Truman, William Fredrick – On Wednesday, April 26th, William Fredrick Truman of Barrie, Ontario died peacefully at Simcoe Hospice at age 90. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario on April 9th 1927 to John and Eva, he was a loving brother to Eva, May and Margaret. He is survived by Donna, his wife of 71 years, sister Zena, brother-in-law Tom, daughter Linda, grandchildren Peter and Amanda, and great grandchild Adelaide. Bill was a proud veteran and worked as a labourer for companies such as Oneita, General Electric and Tandy. He loved to bowl and was actively involved as a coach for youth.  Bill was also passionate about golf, walking and Mountain Dew. The family would like to thank the staff at Royal Victoria Hospital’s Specialized Senior’s Care Department, Hospice Simcoe, and Kate Skinner for her help and support. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 8th from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Barrie Legion on 410 St. Vincent Street in Barrie. Dear sister to Kenneth Seth Rolston (Marion deceased) Uxbridge, ON; Kathleen Isabella Bogart (Rex) Barrie, ON; Keith George Laverne Rolston – Deceased (Betty) Toronto ON, Bryan Clinton Rolston – Deceased (Winnie) Brantford, ON and Sharon Minick (Larry) Barrie, ON. She will also be dearly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a long-time employee and retiree of Proctor and Gamble (Hamilton). She will be sadly missed by all her friends and family who will remember her wonderful sense of humour, kindness and tireless energy. At her request, the family will be holding a private service. Low, Robert Alexander (Bob –Bobby)
At the young age of 63, following complications from surgery, Bob died suddenly but peacefully on Friday April 14, 2017, surrounded by family at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood.  Bob was born in Hamilton and retired from Stelco after 33 years.  Bob and his soulmate of 34 years, Lynda (nee Harrison) then retired to Wasaga Beach.  Loving stepfather to Randy and to grandchildren Randi-Lyn and Nicolas. Dear brother to Jean (Andy) and Chris (Dave).  He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Bob will be forever missed by Lynda and her sisters Janet, Robbie and Donna as well as many, many friends from Hamilton and Wasaga Beach.  Last but not least, Bob will be missed by his furbaby Oprah – they adored each other.  Cremation has taken place and at Bob’s request, there will not be a funeral service.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Country Life, 90 Theme Park Drive, Wasaga Beach on Sunday April 30, 2017 from 4 to 9 p.m.  If desired, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by Bob’s family.  Arrangements under the care of the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Chapel.  For further information and to sign the Book of Memories, log on to www.carruthersdavidson.com

GROVES, Thomas Harvey     August 1, 1951 – April 7, 2017.
After a long illness it is with heavy hearts that the Groves family announces the peaceful passing of Tom at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington in his 66th year. Tom is predeceased by his parents Thomas Groves and May Groves, his stepmother Blanche Groves, and his siblings Dale Groves and Linda Newman.  Tom is survived by his siblings Wendy De La Franier and Debbie (Butch) Blagojevic.  As well, Tom is survived by his children Lawrence, Tammy (Robert), Teresa from his late wife Madeleine, his children Robert and Ashley from his wife Jane, and his children Brandon and Shannon from his wife Laura. He is also survived by grandchildren Auston, Brandon, Christopher, Corrina, Deanna, Emily, Megan, Mikayla, Owen and Sarah. As well as, Great-Grandchildren Alainah, Jason, Kinsley and Liam.  Tom leaves behind many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the professional care team at Joseph Brant Hospital, Hamilton General Hospital and Wesley Special Care Unit. Tom had a varied work life but most notably he was a Toronto Transit Commission Operator for streetcars and later buses and performed his duties for the TTC out of Russell, Roncesvalles and Malvern Divisions. Tom had been a resident of Wasaga Beach for a period of his life and it was his wish, which is being honoured by the family, to return and to be buried close to his brother in the Wasaga Beach Cemetery.
