GRAHAM, BRIAN – On Monday, January 16, 2017, Brian Allen Graham, age 64 of Sarnia passed away. He is survived by his daughter Vanessa Graham, his sisters Donna Graham, Sandra Graham, Lillian Cole, Eleanor Steiner and brother David Graham. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Joyce Graham and nephews Rodney Cote and Stan Cole. Brian was a performer and entertainer and loved to make people laugh. Funeral Services will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Died peacefully on Monday January 16, 2017 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood in his 92nd year.  Tom of Stayner, beloved husband of Jeannette (nee Desnoyers).  Loving father of Sharon Lammle, William (Roxanna), Linda (Philip Stonehouse), Thomas (Sherry) and Dianna (David Finnigan) and step father of Jim (Arlene) Culbertson, Robert (Helen) Parsik and Lynda (Steve McMillan).  Tom was the proud grandfather of 27 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren with more on the way!  He served in the Second World War and went on to a 28 year career in the military.  Tom’s passion was scouting and he was an active scouter for over 55 years.  He leaves a tremendous legacy for his family and his community. Died peacefully after a short illness, on Friday January 13, 2017 at General and Marine Hospital, Collingwood at the age of 83.  Ron of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Brampton, beloved husband of Daphney (nee Burry) for 52 years. Loving father of Paul (Liisa Groulx) and devoted grandfather of Ethan. Dear brother of Vilma and her husband Sydney Rutherford, he is pre-deceased by siblings Edna, Violet, Betty, Bunny, Eva and Howard and by his parents John and Mary. Pilling, Jessie Marie (nee McDonald) Born April 5, 1930. While spending time with loving family, passed peacefully in her sleep December 26, 2016. Deeply missed and forever adored by her long time companion Beverley Matthews. Always loved and never forgotten by sons Douglas Pilling (Linda Berry), Trent Pilling (Kasia), daughter Karen Melanie Martyn and daughter-in-law Jennifer Pilling. Loving nana to Jim, Christopher, Harrison, Heather, Gordon and Tommy, great grand children Jimmy and Alyssa. At Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, Collingwood on Monday, January 2, 2017 formerly of Feversham in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Wilfred(2011). Loving mother of Harvey(Elaine) and best friend to daughter June Dawson. Loved and remembered by grandchildren Christina(Jason) Stephens, Pamela(Dave) McIlwraith and 3 great grandchildren; Jordan, Jesse and Jaelyn. Mildred will be missed by sister Vera Bowbyes, nephew Ian and niece Lorna. Predeceased by nephew Kenny.

Mildred’s greatest joy in life was being a mom. She spent many years at home taking care of her family, and for this she was very proud. In her later years, she enjoyed relaxing and watching Harvey’s cows graze while listening to songs by George Strait.

The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Home, Flesherton on Thursday, January 5 from noon until the time of service at 1pm. Pearson: Anthony (Tony) of Brampton

Anthony (Tony) George Wallace Pearson of Brampton, ON passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 23rd 2016 at the age of 74.

Tony was born to parents George and Eva Pearson on December 7th 1942 in Ottawa ON. He was the oldest of four and as a natural salesman, traveled across Canada representing a variety of companies in his career. Most of all, Tony was a family man and a kind husband and father, taking great pleasure in leisure drives with the family, Sunday brunch and keeping up with the latest automobile trends.

The final years of his life was spent living with multiple sclerosis with his humour, positivity and courage intact. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Tony is survived by his wife Anne and son David.

There will not be a public service, the family respectfully declines flowers and donations.

Elizabeth Coriene Fischer (née Anstett) of R.R. #2 Mildmay, passed away suddenly with family by her side at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton on Thursday, December 29th, 2016 in her 80th year.

Beloved wife of Tom Fischer.

Visitation will be held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with Knights of Columbus Rosary at 8:30, followed by Vigil Prayers at 8:45. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Formosa on Thursday, January 5th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Father Michael Anderson officiating.

Jonkman, Harry (Harm) – May 29th, 1922 – December 24th 2016 – Harry Jonkman, the original owner/Dad of “Mom & Dad’s Bakery” on Little Avenue of Barrie, was born in Meppel, Holland to Jan & Pieteke Jonkman (predeceased) and is predeceased by his sister Roelie VanSprang, (Jonkman).  He passed away in his home in Midhurst with family by his side following a lengthy hospital visit at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie.  He was beyond deserving of the most amazing Christmas gift received, which was going home to be with the Lord, to be reunited with his beautiful wife Elly Jonkman and his much loved daughter Cindy Warnar (Henk).  He is survived by his son, John Jonkman (Viona) and his two daughters, Patricia Anderson (Scott) and Marian Sweetland (Byron). He will be fondly remembered by eleven grandchildren:  Greg, Kari, Brad, Mark, Hendrik, Paul, Philip, Roxanne, Santana, Jesse and Skylar and eleven great-grandchildren:  Dylan, Brooke, Riley, Kassidy, Madison, Colby, Drake, Madeleine, Brook, Emma and Samantha.  A long time church member of Hi-Way Pentecostal Church in Barrie since 1966, Dad’s faith was apparent in all that he did and to all who knew him.  His 69 years of marriage to Elly was a true example of love and devotion.  Friends will be received at Hi-Way Church, 50 Anne St., N., Barrie on Thursday January 5th, 2017 at 12:30 PM for visitation until 2:00 PM at which time Dad’s celebration of life shall begin.  As an expression of sympathy, Dad loved supporting the children with World Vision, Canada and would love others to do the same.  We will forever be grateful for his example, his heritage and legacy.  Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family by visiting the website:  www.drivercremation.ca

Sturgess, Donald Bayliss  –  February 21, 1932 – December 25, 2016  –  A child was born to Lily Bayliss and Harry Sturgess February 21, 1932 on Willard Avenue, Toronto. On Christmas day 2016 he left his manger at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, ON with his faithful wife of 13 years Suzanne Fennell Sturgess and the furry Countess de la Tessa by his side. He leaves his daughters, Donna Sturgess Taylor, Mississauga/Bracebridge, Dale Sturgess McCreary, Philadelphia and their supportive husbands, Bob Taylor and Scott McCreary. Proud grandpa to Ashley and Bradley Taylor. Don was Master Warrant Officer, 400 Division Air Force Reserves for 44 years and ended his career at de Havilland. Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place when roses bloom in spring. Adams, Jean – Peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie after a short illness, on Monday, December 19, 2016.  Jean Adams, wife of the late Vern Adams, Mother of Nancy Prime (George), and Susan Sproule (Alan), grandmother of Adam Prime (Kym), Julia Prime (Dana), Alana Sproule (Scott), Stacey Sproule (David) and Megan Sproule, great grandmother of Kayla. Predeceased by her brother, R J (Jack) Frame of Midland. Jean was an avid curler for years and lately followed curling on TV,  loved Scrabble and Bid Euchre. Crump, Glen William – It is with devastating sadness that I advise my husband Glen Crump passed away December 21, 2016, after a fierce two month battle with cancer. Glen William Crump, born Parry Sound on July 15, 1957, in his 59th year. Beloved son of Kenneth E. Crump and the late Helen M. Crump (nee VanKoughnett). Survived by his admiring wife Michelle Hughes-Crump, Son – Jason (Barb), and four beautiful grandchildren: Ellie, Logan, Liam, and Landon. Wonderful caring siblings – Brenda (Gary), Butch, Mike (Dorothy), Janet (Kelvin), Rick (Louise), Dave (Maria), Mary, Kathy (Lloyd), Sandy (Brian), Jeff (Sue), and Shawn (Nat). Devoted grandfather of Jasmine (Wayne Gordon), Broc (Megan) Wilson, Nathan (Jessica) Chalmers. Koty (Samantha) Bloxam, Jordan Chalmers, Emma Chalmers, Charlotte (Stephen Schnell), Josiah Chalmers, Brett Bloxam, Elsa-Joy Chalmers, Sky Bloxam and Brandon Russell and great grandfather of Jack, Ryan and Luke Gordon, Noah Chalmers, Leo, Hope and Hunter Bloxam and Raphael Schnell.  Dear brother of Donald and the late Reginald. His second passion in recent years, as a city guy, was life on the farm where he helped dear friend, Gerda Futter care for her animals. It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Edward Toone. An amazing husband to Pat of 48 years, a leading and loving father to Jason and Anna and a devoted Grandad to Emmersen, Chloe and Wyatt. He also loved his daughter in law, Kimberly and son in law, Jason. Ed was a visionary and dedicated man to everything and everyone he touched. His humour and support for the Toronto Maple Leafs, as well as the West Bromwich Albion FC was undeniable. Died peacefully on Monday December 19, 2016 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood at the age of 89.  Neil of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Betty (nee Hill) for over 64 years.  Loving father of Jerry.  Dear brother of May Wakelin and Leonard and his wife Eldean.  Neil will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.  Neil was a skilled craftsman who loved to work with wood.  He was a fun loving man and made friends wherever he went.  Betty and Neil enjoyed over 34 years in Wasaga Beach, enjoyed the friendships and card playing at the 412 Club and wintering in Florida.  He will be missed.  A graveside ceremony will be held at the Wasaga Beach Cemetery on Thursday May 25, 2017 at 2 o’clock.  If desired, donations to the Campbell House Hospice would be appreciated by Neil’s family.

Thompson, Gordon Kenneth

It is with great sadness that the family of Gordon Thompson announces his sudden passing on Friday December 16th, 2016 at the age of 80. Gord of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Marilyn, loving father of Bruce (Lynn), Julie (Tim Kane), Joanne (Rob Little), and Terry (Rosanne). Devoted grandfather of Richard, Michael, Jennifer, Jessica, Kailee, Brandon, Amanda, and Brandon, and great-grandfather of Isabella, Ava, Noah and Ezra. Friends will be received at the Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home, Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach at 11:00 am on Sunday January 15th, 2017. A Celebration of Life will take place at noon and will be followed by a reception.  In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated in memory of Gord.  A special thank you to the emergency services who so exceptionally and compassionately tended to Gord and the family on December 16th.

Lynch, Alan Keith of Barrie, ON – June 3, 1930- December 17, 2016

Alan Keith Lynch, after living a long and fulfilling life passed away peacefully on December 17th.   Alan, in his 86th year is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rhoda Joyce (ne Irwin).  Alan was father to five children, Jack, Bob, Debbie, Christine and Karen.  He was father in law to Michael (pre-deceased), Albert, Susan, Craig and Lynda.  He was grandfather and great grandfather to many.  Alan and loving wife Joyce enjoyed many wonderful hours together decorating their beautiful home and tending to an amazing garden.   Alan spent his full work life of 41 years with Loblaw food stores working his way up the corporate ladder to vice president of meat operations.   Upon retirement his days were spent walking his little buddy Quincy, tending to the garden and home, day trips with Mom, watching his grand- children play sports and cleaning and waxing his pride and joys, his many spotless “ always black” cars and trucks.  The Lynch family would like to thank the wonderful staff in the Cardiac and Stroke recovery units at Royal Victoria Hospital and those fantastic volunteers and staff at Simcoe Hospice.  A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Please consider a donation in Alan’s name to Hospice Simcoe or Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. Died suddenly on Thursday December 15, 2016 at his home with family by his side in his 79th year.  Jim of Stayner, formerly of Toronto, beloved husband of Barbara (nee Paine).  Loving father of Cindy Wilson, Jim (Kim), Carol (Chris) Chalmers and Mark (Lorie Wagner). Devoted grandfather of Jasmine (Wayne Gordon), Broc (Megan) Wilson, Nathan (Jessica) Chalmers. Koty (Samantha) Bloxam, Jordan Chalmers, Emma Chalmers, Charlotte (Stephen Schnell), Josiah Chalmers, Brett Bloxam, Elsa-Joy Chalmers, Sky Bloxam and Brandon Russell and great grandfather of Jack, Ryan and Luke Gordon, Noah Chalmers, Leo, Hope and Hunter Bloxam and Raphael Schnell.  Dear brother of Donald and the late Reginald. He will also be missed by close family friend Wayne Sharpe and Dave Higgins. Jim was adored by all his friends and family and his fun-loving spirit will be dearly missed. His second passion in recent years, as a city guy, was life on the farm where he helped dear friend, Gerda Futter care for her animals. Ford; Donald Wilfrid of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Barrie

Don Ford was born in Toronto to J Wilfrid and Adele (Clark) Ford, the youngest of three children.  He was pre-deceased by his brother Herbert and is survived by his sister Marion Havercroft.  He graduated with a BA (English) from the University of Toronto and earned a MEd from the University of Calgary.  Don worked for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) at their camps and in student ministry.  He later served on the board of IVCF for Canada as well as the local committee in Barrie, Ontario.  In 1968, he joined the staff of Georgian College in Barrie at the advent of the college.  During his 17 years there, he launched various programs.   He helped to start Inniswood Baptist Church in Barrie, Ontario.  He was a pioneer in Canada for the Alpha course and an active church member.  He also served on the board of Arab World Ministries, which later merged with Pioneers Canada.  Don had a keen interest in the spiritual and professional well-being of his family.  He read widely, was an avid photographer and enjoyed being on the water.   He is survived by his wife Fran and their blended family:  Doug (Cheryl with Madison and Emma), Debera (John with Lucas and Patrick), Christine (Alasdair), Heather (Roy with Ella), Darryl (with Kristen [son Tyler], Melissa and Brandon), Donna (Steve with William, Andrew, Isaac and Abigail) and Rob (Allana with Linley and Esme).  He was pre-deceased by his first wife Barbara and daughter Jennifer.  Don said that if God had a phone number, it would be Jeremiah 33:3— “Call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”  He had a deep sense of gratitude for the Lord’s love for him.  “The Lord said:  ‘I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love.  With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.’”  (Jeremiah 31:3)  Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Friday December 16, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday December 17, 2016 at Faith Missionary Church, 1355 River Road West, Wasaga Beach from 1 pm until the time of Funeral Service at 2 p.m.  Spring interment Barrie Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Pioneers Canada (Dorchester, Ontario).  For more information and to sign the online Book of Memories, log on to www.carruthersdavidson.com.
