The world will seem a little less bright as we announce, with sorrow, the passing of a caring ,stylish and energetic lady .On Wednesday August 20’th 2014 , surrounded by her family at the St.Thomas Elgin General Hospital, Doris Barber(McFarlane) of Wallacetown, peacefully left us to be with her loving husband the late Russell Barber(2010). Loved mother of James and Denise Barber of Wallacetown. Loving grandmother of Tiffany and Cees van Arendonk of Guelph, Andrew and Tara Barber of Wallacetown. Cherished great grandmother of Oliver, Ashlyn and Logan. Also survived by Brother-in-Law William his wife Barbara and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom was very active in her community, devoted to her church and willing to help when and where ever needed. Doris was a Past Queen of Omar Temple #111 Daughters of the Nile; Past Worthy Matron of Orphah Chapter #102 and member of Adah Chapter #276 Order of The Eastern Star. The family would like to thank the care given by the paramedics; the emergency staff and C.I.C.U. of STEGH.
Friends will be received at the Arn Funeral Home 193 Shackleton St. Dutton, 519-762-2416 Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 where the funeral service will be held on Thursday August 28’th 2014 at 1:30p.m.. Internment in Tyrconnell Cemetery . Donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children would be appreciated.
