BAKER, Jack W., of Caressant Care on Bonnie Place, St. Thomas, passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 25, 2014, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Ruth (nee Betts) Baker (Nov. 9, 2014). Loving father of Bonnie Temple, and Donna Haun, both of St. Thomas, Brenda Silversmith (Mark) of Aylmer, and the late Danny Baker (1980). Dear brother of Robert Baker (Barb) of London, and Elsie Whall of Vienna. Also survived by a step-son, Gordon “Sonny” Viges of St. Thomas, as well as a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and son, Jack was predeceased by one sister and four brothers. Born in Springfield, ON, May 22, 1930, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Jessica (nee Harvey) Baker. Jack was a retired employee of Canada Vitrified Products, St. Thomas. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation. A private memorial service will be held. Jack’s cremated remains will be interred privately in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Vienna. If so desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
