BakerLorraine0002It is with profound sadness but also deep gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the peaceful passing of Lorraine Baker on Friday February 21, 2014 at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie in her 82nd year.  Lorraine of Stayner, beloved wife of the late Alvin Baker.  Loving mother of Steve (Brenda), Brian (Julie) and Wendy (Don Campbell).  Dear grandmother of Ryan (Heather), Brett (Kerri), Jake, Sam, Cassie, Justin, Nicholas and great-grandmother of Zoey and Erica.  Sister of Shirley Young, Ken MacDonald and the late Murray MacDonald.  Lorraine was devoted to a lifetime of caring for others at the Stayner Nursing Home which she has owned and operated with her family for many years and she will be dearly missed by those whose lives she has touched.  Family and friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner (705-428-2637) on Thursday February 27, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and at the Stayner Community Centre, 277 Regina Street, Stayner from 11 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service on Friday February 28, 2014 at 12 noon.  Reception to follow.  Cremation with interment at Stayner Union Cemetery.  If desired, donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to Hospice Simcoe, Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre or the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation.  For further information and to sign the book of memories, log on to www.carruthersdavidson.com
