Cherished grandmother to Leanne, Kurt, Gregg, Brent (Lindsey), Jeff, Scott, Carlene, Renae, Julie and Shawn Bandy; Eric and Jason Baird; Paul, Naomi, and Rachel Baird.  Erma is survived by her dear sisters Norma (the late Lloyd) Waun, and Eleanor (Clare) Ritchie, both of Sarnia. Erma is predeceased by her husband Bob, and sisters Eunice (Walter) Cripps of Sarnia, and Lorene (Jack) Warren of Toronto. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Erma was born on the Curts’ farm near Parkhill, Ontario, on March 3, 1934. She became a teacher at the young age of 19, and taught primary school for 33 years. She will be most remembered for seeing the potential in all children, and for speaking into the lives of literally hundreds of them.  Erma also served faithfully in the Care Ministry at Grace United Church through hospital visitation, and was a primary life member of the IODE Elizabeth II Chapter. Erma’s home was characterized by beautiful landscaped gardens on the outside, and a grandmother’s unconditional love on the inside. Erma loved Jesus, and humbly served Him whenever and wherever she could.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Crombeen and the nurses and caregivers of the St. Joseph’s Hospice.  Visitation will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon.
