Larry Baert (170x250)Baert – Larry Camiel of St. Thomas passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday January 12, 2013 at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital in his 59th year. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Fil) Baert and loving father of Christine and her husband Ilyas Nur of London, Lisa and husband Steven Smith of St. Thomas and Jeff Baert of Sarnia. Dear brother of Diane Pugh (Alfred) of London, Wayne Baert (Kelly), Rick Baert (Karlene) and Frank Baert (Irene) all of Windsor. Dear grandpa of Malcolm, Adam, Sophia, Madison and Lucas. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry was born Oct. 6, 1954 in Chatham, the son of the late Camiel and Sophie (Hepp) Baert. He owned and operated the Sunset Variety for 27 years and Larry was so grateful for the support of his customers over those years. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a positive outlook on life. Larry was loved by his family and friends and will be forever missed.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow, with private interment of ashes in Holy Angels’ Cemetery . Visitation three hours prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00-1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Holy Angels Church Restoration Fund or charity of choice.
