She was born in Dawn Township daughter of the late Clinton and Mary (Davidson) Childs. She was a member of Charlemont Free Methodist Church, Wallaceburg. She will be missed by her loving and devoted husband Rev. Gerald Ellwood Babcock; her son James Babcock (late Barbara) of Tupperville and friend Yvonne Woods, daughters: Carolyn Cornish (Bill) of Wallaceburg, Norma Langstaff of Wallaceburg, Catherine Langstaff (Bruce) of Tupperville, Janice Smith (Randy) of Wallaceburg; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sisters Marion Smith (late James) of Chatham, Mary Childs (Late Harold) of Dresden, Mildred Childs(late Ernest) of Tupperville, brothers: Donald Childs (Berneida) and Gord Childs (Fran) both of Wallaceburg. She is predeceased by granddaughter Kimberly Cornish, sister and brother-in-law Evelyn & Lloyd Eves, brother & sister-in-law Morris & Helen Childs-Hess, brothers: Harold & Ernest Childs. Visitors will be received at the Thomas L. DeBurger Funeral Home, 620 Cross Street, Dresden on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the Dresden Community Church on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Terry Clyne, Rev. Ron Bartolo and Mr. Douglas Reiman officiating. Interment in Dresden Cemetery.
