Axford, Philip L. “Phil”, of St. Thomas, passed on peacefully to be with his heavenly family on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in his 55th year.  Proud loving father of Clayton and Candice Axford, both of St. Thomas, and Corey and Chris Greenside, both of Calgary.  Grandfather of Serenity Greenside. Cherished son of Lettitia (White) Strong of St. Thomas.  Loving brother of Debbie (Axford) Palmer of St. Thomas, and Calvin Axford (Rochelle) of Sparta.  Predeceased by his father, Laurence Clayton Axford, sister, Lena (Axford) Basacco, and brother,  Victor Axford.  Also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.   Phil was born in St. Thomas on October 31, 1959 and was well known for his brickwork throughout the area.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.  A private family service will be held.  Donations for a memory leaf in Phil’s name to be placed on the Memory Wall in Pinafore Park would be greatly appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
