It is with great sadness that the family of Reta Lawson announces her passing at her residence in Athens, on Thursday March 28th, 2013 . The former Reta Joanne Haskin in her 75th year . Dear mother of Rick Lawson ( Cynthia ) of Athens, Nancy Lawson-Polite ( Reta PictureDave ) of Maynard, Terry Lawson of Lyn and Tanya Watkins ( Michael ) of Smiths Falls. Loving grandmother of Parker and Ethan Watkins. Dear sister of, Margaret Moulton of Athens, Dorinne Hewitt of Brockville and Nancy McCarthy of Trenton. Predeceased by a daughter, Tina Louise Lawson and a brother Allan Haskin both in infancy. Also predeceased by her former husband Ernest Lawson, as well as her parents, Glenn Haskin and the former Gladys Margaret Soper. Reta will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Grave-Side Service at Glen Elbe Cemetery on Tuesday April 2nd, 2013 at 10:30 am. At the Kingston General Hospital on Monday February 25th, 2013. The former Barbara Jean Yates age 84 of Delta. Beloved wife of the late Allan B. Gifford. Dear mother of Marsha Gifford of Delta, Alana Naida ( Ted ) of Brampton and Craig Gifford ( Linda ) of Delta. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren, Megan, Jessica, Matthew, Loren, Spencer, Mathew, Michael and Lindsay. Also survived by her unofficial adopted son, Jim Crocker ( Helen ) of Orillia. Lifetime friend of Auntie Kack Chant. Beloved companion of Wally Jennings. Predeceased by a brother Guy Yates of Toronto, and by her parents, Ben Yates and the former Lena Garrett.

Dear mother of Fred Tiekstra ( Sonya ) of Almonte. Loving grandmother of Steve Tiekstra ( Melissa Merkley ) of Perth and David Tiekstra ( Lynsay Durbano ) of Ottawa. Dear sister of Evert Oosterheerd, Tryn Ruiterkamp, Eta Deboer, Zwanny Molino, Petica Ganzevoort and Gre Ytsma. Predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Appie will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.

January 18, 1925 – December 25th, 2012

Russ Moyer of Smiths Falls, Ontario, passed away on December 25th, 2012.  He was born and raised in North Bay, Ont., and was the son of the late Glenarvin Ray Moyer and Alice May Brett.  He was predeceased by wife Irene Marvin Hawley, Brother William ( RCAF World War II ), Sister Elizabeth, and his daughter Donna Nesbitt ( Douglas ) of Perth.
Dear husband of Dianne Joan Goulden also of Smiths Falls, he also will be missed by his remaining children, Deborah Lawson ( Rhett ) of Knowlton, PQ, Denise Miall ( Greg ) of Frankville, Ont. and Ray Moyer ( Linda ) of Carleton Place.
He was a wonderful Papa to Keri-Lynn and Kenneth Nesbitt, Jamie and Holly Lawson, Jillian and Russell ( Sara ) Miall and Mackenzie and Candace Moyer.  He also was the great-grandfather of Stephanie and Jessica Lamshoeft and Ethan Grenier.
Russ served his country during the Korean Crisis and the UN Crisis as a Peace Keeper.
Funeral Services will be held at a later date in North Bay at the Trinity United Church.  The family requests that in Lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Smiths Falls Community Hospital Foundation or the North Bay General Hospital.
A Celebration of Russ’s life will be held on Sunday January 6th, 2013 at the Colonel By Apartments at 40 Pearl Ave., Smiths Falls for family and friends.
