Parker, Kenneth James “Jim” – at Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018, after a brief illness, in his 68th year.  Son of the late John and Rosamund Parker.  Beloved husband of Sandra Parker of Belleville.  Loving father of Donna and her husband Kevin Ekman of Austin, TX.  Proud Grandpa of Jacqueline Ekman.  Jim is survived by his two sisters, Lynn Detlor and Christine Parker.  He is fondly remembered by his brother in-law Hugh (Karen) Dewart, by his niece & nephew Rachel and John, and by his great niece & nephew Lily and Noah.

Private cremation services with inurnment at Belleville Cemetery have been entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel (613-968-2273).

Cherished husband of Major Dorothy Lorena Stainton (nee Putnam). Loving father of Brent (Lois) Stainton of Erin, Ontario., Leslie Stainton of Fergus, Ontario and Brenda Gabriel (Peter) of Belleville. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Joshua of Erin, Jaiden of Belleville, Jacob of Erin, Justine of Belleville, Janaia of Belleville and Jaira of Belleville. Wallis is predeceased by his siblings; Harry, George, Audrey and Vincent Stainton. Dear brother-in-law of Grace McMeechan (Robert) of Victoria, B.C., and the late Clive Putnam (late wife Shirley). Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at the Salvation Army Community Church, 290 Bridge Street West, Belleville on Wednesday May 23rd, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to service.

Sister of Ron (Helen) Hotston of Picton and predeceased by brothers, Jack, Robert, and Harry Hotston. Remembered by sisters-in-law Madeline and Jean. KIRKWOOD, Raymond Robert “Bob” – of Belleville, entered peacefully into rest at the Kingston General Hospital on Saturday February 24th, 2018 at the age of 66. Dear son of the late Raymond & Anita Kirkwood. Dear Father of Melissa (nee Kirkwood). Cherished brother of Emerson “Michael” Kirkwood (Renee) of Belleville. Uncle Bob will be missed by his nieces & nephews; Jaime-Lynn, Sean-Ryan, Christian-Lee (Leonie Skinner) and great niece Lilleth and great nephews Isaiah & Gabriel. The family would like to thank all of Bob’s friends for their love and support during this difficult time.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has already taken place.

LITTLER: Twila Dorothy of Belleville

Littler, Twila Dorothy, life long resident of Belleville, passed away at Hastings Manor, on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018, in her 86th year. Daughter of the late Horace Armstrong Littler and Edith Elouise (nee Bartlett) Littler. Twila was born in Belleville and worked at the Deacon Shirt Factory for almost forty years as a seamstress. She was predeceased by one sister, Mary Adeline Thompson, and is survived by a cousin, Margaret Macartney and a niece, Betty Lou Wells, both of Ottawa.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, (613-968-2273), 30 Moira Street West, Belleville. Visitation will be at Steele Funeral Home  on Thursday evening, March 1, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm,  and again on Friday March 2nd, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at Calvary Community Church, where the  Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Belleville Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions to Calvary Community Church, Hastings Manor, or the Memorial Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

The family would also like to take this opportunity to express their appreciation to the administration, nursing staff, and other staff who all provided excellent care for Twila for the past several years. Twila was an inspiration to all who knew her. Despite all the challenges she faced, she still had a wonderful outlook on life and a smile that would warm your heart.

WOCKNITZ, Laurette Lucille – began her new journey from Moira Place Long Term Care to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, February 17, 2018 in her 82nd year.  She was a strong and take-charge kind of woman with a great sense of compassion who lovingly supported her family.  This fun loving, mischievous, feisty firecracker brought many smiles to our faces. No words can truly express how much we loved her.  She will be missed greatly but never forgotten.  Dear daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche Gagne.  Cherished Mother of: Pauline Crouse (Michael), Paul Graves (Doris), Roseanne Clarke (Norman), Dora Hinze, Kirk Graves (Debbie), Annette Bergeron (Jim) and Kelly Allan (Jamie).  Also, lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by her siblings: Marcel Gagne, Cecile Kleinstuber, Alice Kennedy (Jim), Rose Downey, Roger Gagne (Sheila), Paulette Kilby (Arnold), Leo Gagne (Debbie), Art Gagne (Kim) and Angela Gagne and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by cherished husband, Leonard Wocknitz; Mother-in-Law, Dora Armstrong; baby brother, Oriel; Sister-in-law, Muriel; Brother-in-law, Dennis; Son-in-law, Cecil; Grandchildren, Issac, Amber and Ben; Nieces and Nephews.  Her family and friends will miss her immensely.

Cremation has already taken place.

A private memorial service will be held at Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273). Pastor John Tedford officiating. Inurnment to be held at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Brighton.

POTTS, Arthur Henry (Tony) – Of Plainfield, entered into rest at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday evening February 17th, 2018 in his 74th year.  Son of the late Jack & Nora Potts. Cherished husband of Carol Anne Ethel Potts (nee Hill). Loving father of Cathy Anne Millington, Plainfield, Donald Gordon Potts (Jen), Belleville, Tony Annette Petrie (Dale), Rednersville, Brian Eugene Potts (Holly), Picton. Also lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Robert “Bob” Potts (late wife Mary) of Brighton, Gerry Potts (Marilyn), Belleville and the late Barbara Bertha Somerville. Tony will be missed by his in-laws; Nancy Ryan (late husband Gerry), Shannonville, Eugene Hill (Susan), Rochester, N.Y., (late) Carl Hill & surviving wife Cathy, Rochester, N.Y., Gordon Hill (Sharon), Shannonville and Debbie Sinclair (Jim), Shannonville. Dear uncle to several nieces and nephews. Tony was a painter with the Hastings County Board of Education and after his retirement enjoyed his time working at the Richmond Retirement Residence. Cremation has already taken place.

Beloved husband of Annette Naven (nee- Thompson). Dear father of Tim (Christine) Naven and Julie (Andrew) Galway. Step father of Tara (Ryan) Kemp, Derek Howard and Jousha Howard. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Pearl and Olivia and step-grandchildren Alex, Logan, Xavier, Isaac, Connor, Mason and Leighland. Brother of Joan (Lawrence) Hunter, Linda (Larry) Taylor, Electa (Don) Rose, Mike, Alonzo (Shirley), Peter and Allen Naven.

BLAIND, Mary Elizabeth “Betty” – entered into rest at Kentwood Park Long Term Care Home, Picton on Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 in her 84th year. Daughter of the late William & Olive Pemberton. Beloved wife of Barry John Albert Blaind for 66 years. Cherished Mother of Janice Mikel (Ken), Brenda Hope (Keith), Rebecca Dameren, Lisa Hennessy (Randy) and Peter Blaind (Rose).  Also lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her daughters; Laurie & Cindy Blaind, grandson Adam Barry and siblings; Audrey, Gord, Harvey, Fred, Arnold and Tom Pemberton.

Cremation to take place followed by a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 399 Victoria Avenue, Belleville on Thursday February 15th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to service. Inurnment to take place in the spring at St. James Cemetery.
