VLEUTEN, Jane – Passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Woodstock Hospital, Jane Adriana Vleuten (nee Vrolyk) at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Jan Vleuten for over 58 years. Loving mother of Audrey (Russell) Shelton of New Liskeard, Ken (Laura) Vander Vleuten of Waterloo, Sandra (Kevin) Jackson of Innerkip and Alida (Larry) Vander Molen of Fenwick. Proud grandmother of Katie (Chris), Bridget (Keith), Andrew, Reid, Brad, Shaylyn (Collin), Quinn, Derek (Nicole), Karyssa (Tyler), Josh and Jeremy. Loving great grandmother to her 5 angels Mavis, Gwen, Nolan, Adelynn, and Hayley. Missed by her brothers and sisters; Andy Vrolyk (Cathy), John Vrolyk (Barb), Joanne Vleuten (Harry), Mary Anne Ward (Larry), Doug Vrolyk (Denise) and Margaret Hainer (Garry). Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Martin and Margaret (nee Vander Lans). Jane was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League since 1975, was a volunteer for the Soup Kitchen since 1989 and Treasurer for them from 1996 to present; she was a board member for 2 years with the Woodstock Agriculture Society where she was also the Home Craft President for 3 years. Jane was also the coordinator for VON Meals on Wheels for Holy Trinity Catholic church for many years. She was an active member and volunteer at South Gate Centre. Jane also volunteered at the Bibles for Mission Thrift Store from 1996 to present where she was also a 6 year board member. The family will receive friends at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St. N, Woodstock on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A CWL Rosary will be said at 1:30 pm. Parish prayers will be at 6 pm. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Parish, 1420 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock on, October 5, 2018 at 11 am. A private family interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. WALKER, David– Surrounded by his loving family at Woodstock Hospital on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, David Earl Walker of Woodstock at the age of 69. Beloved husband of the late Sharlynn Walker (nee Falkins), who predeceased him on November 27, 2013. Loving father of Dave Walker Jr (Diana) of Woodstock, and Susie Shapton (Shawn) of Woodstock. Loving Papa of Cole and Justin Walker and Natalie and Ben Shapton. Dear son-in-law of Jack and the late Marjorie Falkins. Sadly missed by his brother Gary Walker (Louise) of Alban and his sister Barb Walker (Bob) of Leamington. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gail Walker, Cheryl McMillan (Tom), Jack Falkins and Jim Falkins (Jennifer). Also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. Predeceased by his parents Earl and Agnes (nee Corkish) Walker and his brother Mike Walker. Dave was an avid car enthusiast and is going to be missed by his car club families. REYNOLDS, Phyllis Lorene (nee Kitchen) – Passed away peacefully at the Woodstock Private Hospital on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the age of 103. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Reynolds (d.1988). Loving mother of Jane (Arthur Boni), John (Glenna) and Peter (Barbara). Proud grandmother of Leslie, Michael, Sarah, Chris, Jessica, Mark, Andrew, Ben, David and 11 great grandchildren. Phyllis graduated from the U of T School of nursing in 1938 and worked in VON until 1947. She was an avid gardener, rug hooker, seamstress, and baker. The family will receive friends at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home 69 Wellington St. North, Woodstock on Monday, October 1, 2018 for visitation from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11 am. KNOX, Rose – Passed away at Woodstock Hospital on Friday, September 28, 2018, Rose Marie Knox (nee Colwell) of Woodstock at the age of 84. Dear wife of the late Harvey Knox who predeceased her in 2007. Loving mother of Steve Knox (Susan) of Woodstock, Rick Knox of Woodstock, Heather Pellow (Ken) of Embro, Shari Brown (Mitchell) of Woodstock and Shelly Knox of Woodstock. Sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Survived by her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Ron and Marg Knox and Vi Smith. She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Predeceased by her parents George and Florence Colwell, siblings Mary, Russell, and Earl, as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Hillview Cemetery at a later date. Beloved mother of Rolfe and Linda Ueberschaer of Kingston and Gerhard and Karen Ueberschaer of Ingersoll. Loving grandmother of Steven Ueberschaer, Rachel Campbell (Mark) and Sarah Ueberschaer. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by her parents, siblings, and Guenther Ueberschaer (1978). Emma spent most of her life in the Hamilton area and moved to Woodstock and became a resident of Oxford Gardens 5 years ago. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hamilton for many years.

Beloved husband of Mary Terpstra (nee Nicholls) who predeceased him on January 4, 2005. Dear father of Miriam Terpstra (Brian Hamlin) of London, John Terpstra (Sharman) of Woodstock, and James Terpstra (Christina) of Montreal Quebec, and a loyal and trusted friend who was like a daughter to him, Janice Wright (Dennis) of Woodstock. Loving grandfather of Brendon, Tanner, Sean, Calen, and Michael John. Survived by his extended family, and predeceased by his parents Peter John and Margaret Terpstra (nee McDonnell). John was a quiet, humble man, who was very proud of being a father, grandfather, a trusted friend, a devoted farmer, and a member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as a 4th Degree Knight. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joan Caroline (Riddell) Wierenga of Woodstock at the VON Sakura House on September 8, 2018 at the age of 75 years. Beloved wife of Gary Wierenga of 55 years. Cherished mother of Glen (Debbie) Wierenga and Kim (Rob) Schwindt. Loving Oma to Bradley, Brandon (Maddi), Justin & Tyler Wierenga and Allanah (Phil), Colton Schwindt. Great Oma to Ashton Wierenga. Dear sister of Patrick Riddell and Linda Amorosi. Also survived by her stepmother Irene Riddell and many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her parents Britton & Mary Riddell and brothers Billy & Paul. Joan was very involved in her church and local nursing homes, playing the organ, and caring for others. Oma loved each of her grandchildren dearly & enjoyed every moment she spent with them, whether it was fishing, garage saleing or watching them play sports. LEHMAN; Albert Clement Lehman, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Woodstock General Hospital, battling yet another bout of pneumonia. Albert was an avid Edmonton Oiler and Eskimo fan. Sports was one of his passions, along with classic and model trains. He was a longtime resident of Kitchener. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Joan (Fleury) (1998). Since moving to Cedarview Gracious Living Community 4 years ago, Albert has called Woodstock home.
Albert will be missed by his children Cathy, Theresa and husband Matt, Mike and wife Carolyn, and Patricia. Many memories of their loving grandpa to Shannon and husband Dave, Aaron and Alicia, Adam, Katie, Sarah and husband Nick, Jade, Hannah, Alicia and husband Chris, Tyler, and Pierce. He will be lovingly remembered by his 5 great grandchildren, Reilly, Preston, Rylee, Briar and Everly.

Dempster, Theresa – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theresa Dempster (nee Keeney) on July 21, 2018 in her 88th year. Theresa was born in Glasgow, Scotland and is predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Dempster. Predeceased by siblings Katherine McNee, May Owen, Eddie Keeney. Theresa will be sadly missed by her daughters, Catherine (Tony) of London, Carol of Tavistock and Lynda of Woodstock. Remembered by her grandchildren, Jim Miles, Dale Browncombe (Tara), Bill Meaney, Jennifer Meaney and Tyler Smith. Great grandmother to Madelyn Meaney of Edmonton. Theresa also has many nieces and nephews still in Canada and Scotland. Theresa has left behind the love and memories of some very special friends, Rosemary Kerr, Marie Labadie and lovingly Mia Ransford. Theresa passed away at Woodingford Lodge (Pinecrest), where she also worked for 25 yrs. Theresa enjoyed her days with many staff members that had become like a second family to her and her daughters. “Thank you” to the staff of Pinecrest and Woodingford Lodge does not seem to cover the extra care that they provided to Mum on her final days. A very special thank you to the PSW’s, RN’s, and RPN’s. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 2 – 4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Br# 55, 642 Dundas St. Woodstock. A private interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street N. Woodstock. BRANCH, Eleanor- Passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Errinrung Longterm Care Facility, Thornbury, Eleanor Harriett Branch (nee Pallister) formerly of Woodstock at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Peter Branch who predeceased her in 1990. Loving mother of Pamella Branch (Martin Hederich) of Collingwood, Paul Branch (Catherine) of Milton and Greg Branch (Estelle-Clare) of Kitchener. Grandmother of Amanda & Jennifer; Brianna, Ethan, Brent, Eli, Eliza and Carolynne. Survived by her brother Norman Pallister of Woodstock. Predeceased by her parents John and Eleanor (nee Milmine) Pallister and brothers Wilfred Pallister and George Pallister. Eleanor will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and extended family.

KERTESZ, John Sr.; Peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Woodstock. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Kertesz (nee Hegedus) for 62 years. Loving father of John (Agi), and Tom (Eleonora). Cherished grandfather of Tommy (Yaisely), Katie (Jimmy), Alana and David. Cherished great grandfather of Jaime-Lynn and Frankie. Survived by a sister in law, Annie Ondo. Predeceased by his father John (1944), mother Anna (1962), brother Miklos (1986) and brother in law Steve Ondo (2016). John was born in Hungary in 1931. He wed Elizabeth in May 1956 and they fled Hungary during the Revolution. In their new homeland, John and Elizabeth raised their 2 sons, John and Tom and farmed in Princeton, Bright, and Drumbo. In 2000, they retired to Innerkip. A private family service will be held at Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St. N. Woodstock, on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Interment at Innerkip Cemetery. Shirley I. Westlake, 79, of Lititz, PA., passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. She was born in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada to the late Malcom and Loretta Pratt Isbister and graduated from Woodstock Collegiate Institute. Shirley always enjoyed traveling and mixing with the people. Everywhere she went she immediately made new friends. She could go into a room and just light it up. Her sense of humor and her infectious laugh always brightened the day. Even if she knew no one there, she would make friends with strangers and would immediately be deep in conversation, with everyone she met. She was always very well received. She will truly be missed by all her bus buddies. She loved the tours and especially the casino tours. Shirley was married to her husband Bill for 56 years and they were rarely separated as they worked together in all their ventures, as full partners and owners of Westlake Tours.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband Bill, siblings, granddaughters, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 12:30-1:30pm, followed by a celebration of Shirley’s life at 1:30pm on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St. N.
