GASKIN, Victor – Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock, Victor Macdonald Gaskin in his 98th year. He is survived by his two daughters, Caroline Gaskin of London, Barbara Gaskin of Norwich Norfolk, England, grandson Nicholas Gaskin of London and great-grandson of Forest. He will be remembered by his nieces, nephews, and extended families. Predeceased by his parents Dennis and Margaret Gaskin (nee Macdonald), daughter Marilyn Baker, brothers Ronald and Neil as well as his three wives Doreen “Jean” Gaskin (nee Brooks), Marion Gaskin (nee Wilson) and Mary Gaskin (nee Connolly). Victor proudly served his country as a pilot and bomber squadron leader in WW II. He went on to work for the Federal Government as a manager for ManPower Canada and was involved in many facets of business in and around the Woodstock area. Throughout the years he pursued a vast array of interests such as woodworking, golfing, gardening, photography, and horseback riding. He even learned leather work just so that he could make his own saddle. Victor was instrumental in organizing the first Woodstock Wood Show. A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Parish, 1420 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11 am with Fr. Dariusz Jagodzinski. Dear father of Wayne Evans (Sarah) of Woodstock, Tracey Schaff (Tyson) of Delhi and Peggy-Sue Evans of Cambridge. Loving grandpa of Courtney, Stephanie & Karlee Evans; Ashley, Kayla & Tyson Jr. Schaff. Great-grandpa of Kailynn, McKenna, Grayson, Julian, Chloe, Vincent, Aubrey, and Bentley. Beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Crawford. Dear mother of the Laura (Kevin) Schell, Susan (late Joe) Rhea, Tim (Diane) Crawford and mother-in-law of Liz Crawford. Loving grandmother of Crystal (George), Mark (Gill), Jim (Allen), Chris, Racheal, Sara and great grandmother of Elandra, Daxton, Kyra and Brayden. BRUCE, Fannie of Tavistock, Ontario

BRUCE, Fannie Frances (nee Scott) – Passed away at People Care Nursing Home, Tavistock on Thursday, March 8, 2018, one week shy of her 92nd Birthday. Predeceased by her husband Clifford (August 2016). They married October 25, 1946 and spent several years farming on the 13th Line East-Zorra Tavistock. Fannie was very involved in the dairy and layer hen operations, as well as the care of a wide selection of animals and birds that Cliff seem to collect. Fannie became the “Restoration Expert”, spending hours repairing and painting the extensive collection of artifacts that Cliff brought home from auctions to ‘Windmill Hill’. In the fall of 2002 they sold the farm, had a HUGE auction sale, and moved to a small acreage on Hwy 59 just north of Woodstock. The acreage here soon became crowded with Cliff’s collections as well. Over the years they became well known and made life-long friends with some of the many visitors that came to view the collections. They even appeared in TV documentaries such as ‘Weird Backyards’! In the fall of 2013 they sold the Hwy property and moved to Oxford Gardens in Woodstock, and as health failed they became residents of People Care Nursing Home in Tavistock. Fannie is survived by her brother Jack (Marguerite-deceased) Scott and brother-in-law Don (Pat-deceased) Leach. Predeceased by sisters Ruby (Albert) Packer, Ella Mae (Harvey, Orrie) Smith-Ostrander, Marion (Sam) Mathews, Pat Leach; and brothers Neil (Marjorie) Scott, Ray (Ivy) Scott and Norm (Cindy) Scott. Fannie was a very much-loved Aunt of several nieces and nephews, as well as the children of her many close friends. Fannie was a life-long member of Christ Church Huntingford and a 50+ year canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. Celebration Service of Fannie’s life will be held at Christ Church Huntingford on her 92nd Birthday, Wednesday, March 14th at 11 am with Rev. Chris Travers. Viewing will take place before the service from 10–10:45 am. Spring interment in Christ Church Huntingford Anglican Cemetery. Father of Kara Thibeault and her husband Bob of St. Thomas and step-father of Jeremy Dennis and his wife Nicole of Woodstock. Grandfather of Travis, Chloe, Ethan, Lily, Logan and Ainsley and great-grandpa of Tyson. Cherished mother of Bill Dundas (late Ida), Jean Bell (late Carman), Mona de Man (Garry); fun-loving Gramma/Grammer of Rick (Michelle), Linda (Mark), late Curtis (2016), late Nadina (1964), late Darrin (2007) (Lynne), Sean (Jackie), Clint (Sandra), David (Heidi), Sheri (Glenn); devoted Great Gramma/Grammer to eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. BROADFOOT, Michael G. “Mike” – On February 6, 2018, Michael Gregory Broadfoot left this world at the age of 58 after a short bout with cancer. Beloved husband of Rita (nee Iwanuk). Cherished father of David and his wife Cassie, and proud grandpa of Addison, Aiden, and Ella, whom he adored. Dear son of Mary Ellen (Stan) English and the late Bev (2015) and Helen Broadfoot. Loved brother of Jane, and Lisa (Grant) and their son Dexter. Born in Tillsonburg in 1959, Mike spent his early years in Clinton before the family moved to Woodstock, where he spent most of his life. Mike graduated from Fanshawe College and worked in various capacities at the Ontario Ministry of Health, where he was respected by his many colleagues. In retirement (2016), Mike and Rita moved to Bayfield to enjoy the lake and the landscape of Huron County. Mike had a keen and curious mind and was a lover of music, literature and gardening. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending free time at the North Road Hunt Club. He had an abiding interest in all the lost domestic arts of our settler ancestors. He was the keeper of history, and the heart of the family. He will be deeply missed. Great-grandmother of Nathen and Jonathon Messier; and Samara and Abigail Dusick. Survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by her first husband John Dusick (1976) and then her second husband Tom Zaitz (2013). Opal was the last surviving child of the late Fred and Mary Young. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. Donna Onishenko for the wonderful care that she gave to Opal. Cremation has taken place. A spring interment of ashes will take place in Sudbury. HILL, Doris R. – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Rosina (Potter) Hill in her 95th year. Predeceased by her loving devoted husband of 72 years, William C. “Bill” Hill (2015). Beloved mother of Lorraine Lindsay of St. Thomas, Bill (Kathy) Hill of Cobble Hills B.C., Barb (John) Tuffnail of Woodstock and Dan Hill of London. Loving Gram to Bill Lindsay, Sean Lindsay; Dan Hill, Jason Hill, Kurt Hill and Craig Hill; and Laura Tuffnail. Adored Gramma to 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Survived by her sister Eileen Clifford and sisters-in-law Olive Hernandez, Phyliss Laughington and Audrey Leask. Predeceased by her four sisters and three brothers and her most beloved grandson Michael Tuffnail (1990). As per her wishes cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. SANDERS, Marilyn- Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Woodstock Hospital, Marilyn Helen Sanders (nee Harris) at the age of 76. Beloved wife of the late Chuck Sanders who predeceased her on December 14, 2007. Dear mother of Lynne Whittemore (David) of Stratford and Robert Sanders (Lisa) Bayfield. Loving grandma of Andrea, Ashley, and Amanda Campbell; Charlotte and Brandon Sanders; and Brett and Benjamin Walz. Proud great grandma of Madison and Kalob. Missed by her sisters Betty Arthur (Keith) of Otterville and Joan Tabor (late Glen) of Woodstock. Lovingly remembered by Sheri and Terry Hainer of Woodstock. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by her parents William and Levia (nee Smyth) Harris and her sisters Shirley Piper and Dorothy Harris.

LEGER, Helen – Passed away at PeopleCare, Tavistock on Monday, January 22, 2018, Marie Helena Fernande Leger formerly of Woodstock in her 92nd year.  Loving mother of Paulette Parsons (Jim) of Woodstock, Jacques Leger of Woodstock, Robert Leger (Tammy) of Toronto, Phil Leger (Joanne Regan) of West Montrose, Tina Reid (Brian) of Milton and Anna Leger of Toronto.  Helen was very proud of her 7 loving grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  She will be sadly missed by her brothers Jarvis LeBlanc of Moncton, N.B., Ulric LeBlanc of Bouctouche, N.B and Marguerite Maillet of Moncton, N.B.  Helen will be fondly remembered by her beloved nephew Herman (Exelda).  Survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.  Predeceased by her parents Allyre and Emma LeBlanc (nee LeBlanc) and siblings Leonette McLean, Therese Bastarache, Jena-Paul LeBlanc, Elmo LeBlanc, Gilberte Smith, Yolande Allain, Benoite Lombard and Valerie LeBlanc.  A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Parish, 1420 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 11 am with Fr.
