Smith, Reverend John Albert

Peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood in his 71st year, John went to be with the Lord.  John of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband and best friend for 51 years to Brenda (nee Hallman).  Loving father of Richard Smith (Bonnie Ford) and Andrea Smith (Regan Trolley).  Cherished grandfather of Mitchel Trolley, Justin and Trenton Smith and Ashley Phillips and two great grandchildren Marceline Trolley and Divonne Phillips.  Dear brother of Reta (Ed Main) and the late Dwight Smith.  John will also be missed by his mother-in-law Myrtle Hallman, brother-in-law Robert Hallman and sister-in-law Carolyn Shea and his many nieces.  John is predeceased by nephew Warren Shea.  John was blessed to have touched many lives during his almost 71 years and through pastoring of many churches.  He made friends easily, shared his wonderful sense of humour openly, loved the peacefulness of the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and a round of golf.  He loved wintering in Texas where he played guitar with his many friends.  He was happiest when surrounded by friends and his family.  He will be deeply missed.  Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Friday May 25, 2018 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday May 26, 2018 at the Stayner Evangelical Missionary Church, 202 Ontario Street, Stayner from 10 a.m. for the Funeral Service at 11 o’clock.  Reception to follow.  Private interment Ebenezer Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House or Emmanuel Bible College would be appreciated by John’s family.  For further information and to sign his Book of Memories, please visit www.carruthersdavidson.com

Heaven received another angel today. With deep sadness, Dylis, passed away peacefully on Monday May 7, 2018 at Amica Retirement Home, Barrie in her 94th year. Dylis of Wasaga Beach, beloved wife of the late George Martin (2011) for over 68 years. Loving mother of Diane and her late husband Ken Ross and the late Douglas and his wife Gloria. Cherished grandmother of Kim Martin, Sheri (Tim Welch), Patricia (Clive Mathias) and Brett (Kirsti) Donald. And great grandmother of McKayla, Sydnee, Maya, Reno, Ashden, Brodi, Elijah and Adrian. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Berni at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood. Always marching to his own Drummer, Berni shared over 60 Years of Adventure with his Wife Gisela, who was by his side when he left on his Final Journey. Berni will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by his Wife Gisela, his Son Gary (Cathy) and his Grandchildren Megan and Adam. He will also be missed by relatives and many friends in Germany and Canada. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. David Field, 80, of Wasaga Beach, ON passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Orillia. He was born in Port Dover, ON to Edward (Ted) and Lillian Field. David began his teaching career in a one room school house in 1959. He taught until 1994 and supplied for many years afterwards. David is survived by his wife Margret of 53 years; son Ted of Collingwood; daughter Audrey Prenzel (Dirk) of Trenton, ON; daughter Sheila Laing (Will) of Wasaga Beach; daughter Suzanne Herron (Peter) of Wasaga Beach; his brothers Tom and George; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James (Mary). He loved his 9 grandchildren Alandra, Kevin, Jacob, Isaac, Rebecca, Emily, Sophia, Elise, Rachel, and great grandson Parker. Proud grandfather of Amanda Conquer (Marco), Lisa Burgess (Adam), Zachary Dimock, Trevor Dimock, Jonathan Crossland, Nicholas Crossland (Brandy), Felicia Crossland (Ben), Victoria Crossland (Khal), Lindsay Faulkner and Thomas Faulkner and to two great grandchildren Bentley and Lincoln Burgess. He is survived by his brother Maurice (Julie) and predeceased by siblings Lewis, Charles, Mary and Marion. Ray was a kind man who loved his family deeply. He was a creative, talented and self-taught woodworker, loved feeding wildlife who visited his yard and enjoyed cards and darts with his friends. Ray will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, his companion Pooh-II, friends and the community. Died suddenly on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto at the age of 73. Tom of Stayner, formerly of Brampton, beloved husband of Eileen (nee Winnington) for 49 years. Loving father of Kevin and his wife Yvonne and Ken and his wife Melinda. Cherished Papa of Jessica, Nicole, Emma and Jenna and Kyle and Tyler and to great grandson Jackson. Tom will also be missed by his brother-in-law George Winnington and his extended family, his friends and neighbours. Tom was an easy going man who made friends easily. He loved to fish, work with wood and he enjoyed playing his guitar, banjo and ukulele. He had a deep love for his family and he will be dearly missed. Loving mother of sons Denis (Susan), the late Robert (2006), Marc, Ti-Jean (Christine), blessed with a daughter Angèle and Lorne Storey (Karen). Cherished grandmother of Ryan (Shannon), Stéphane (Pollyanna), Céline, Lianne, Hallie and Nathan and two great grandchildren Amy and Oliver. Dear sister of Rhéa (the late Armand Laperrière), the late Lionel (the late Cécile), the late Oliver (Lucienne), the late Laurent, the late Armasse (the late Sarah), the late Armand (Antoinette) and the late Eugene (Rita). Died suddenly on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at her home at the age of 69. Sharon of Stayner, formerly of Duntroon, beloved wife of Tom Rawn. Loving mother of Kim Rawn, Shawna (Jim Wyant) and Angela (Butch Ree). Cherished grandmother of Ashley and Dallas Cook, Derrick, Adam, Matthew and Dylan Wyant and Emily, Lucas and Brandon Ree and great grandmother of Thianna and Tessa. Sharon is survived by her siblings Charlie (Doreen) MacDonald, Phyllis VanNest and Brian (Linda) MacDonald. She is predeceased by siblings Helen Metheral, Beth Edwards, Avis Hurst, Alec, Keith, Don and Mac MacDonald and brother-in-law John Rawn. She will also be missed by her in-laws Ida (Doug Long), Russell Stroud (Karen) and Heather (Phillip Laundry), her many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. Sharon was a quiet woman who was kind and loving to her family and friends. She loved her gardens and she loved to shop. She will be deeply missed.
