Jurijus Cerniavskis, better known as Yuri, died suddenly on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the General & Marine Hospital in Collingwood at the young age of 55. Yuri of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Yana for over 32 years, loving father of Karina and Erika, caring son of Veronika, and dear brother to Alexander and his wife, and uncle to their four children. Yuri and Yana are the long time owners of J & J Motel on Main Street in Wasaga Beach. Yuri was a fun loving and kind man who cherished his family and friends, and enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing any time he could. He will be deeply missed. Died peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Coleman Care Centre, Barrie in his 96th year. Lloyd of Stayner, beloved husband of Isabel (nee Nobes) for over 72 years. Loving father of Dianne (Robert Wright), Douglas (Lucie), the late Danny and Brenda Lee (Bill Miller). Cherished Papa of six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Predeceased by his three sisters. Lloyd will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Lloyd farmed for many years in Sunnidale Township and was a long time civilian employee of Base Borden. He will be missed. Died peacefully following a brief illness on Saturday October 7, 2017 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood in his 92nd year. Marcelius of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of the late Jura. Loving father of Loreta and her husband John Hume and Paul and his wife Rita. Cherished Grandfather of Samantha Hume and Jason and Michelle Ignatavicius. Mark is predeceased by his siblings and will also be missed by his family and friends. He had a long career at Ford Motor Company. Mark was a noble, strong and kind man who cherished his family, his friends and his faith. His attention and dedication to his wife Jura, especially in her last few years was a testament to their love. He will be missed. In loving memory of Karen Anne Kilpinen who passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie at the age of 62. Treasured sister of Judy Kilpinen of Toronto, and Wendy (Peter) DiLullo of Sudbury. Karen is predeceased by her parents, Leo and Florence, and her sister Diane. Karen obtained her Medical Lab Technologist diploma from Canadore College in North Bay, and was employed in her field in Fort Frances, Ontario and Toronto for over 25 years. In recent years, she had worked as a medical office administrative assistant at several doctors’ offices in Barrie. Having recently moved to Wasaga Beach, she was looking forward to her retirement there. Karen grew up in Sudbury and spent summers at the family camp (cottage) on Lake Panache, loved to swim and play with her sisters in the nearby woods. She enjoyed spirited games of Othello, Scrabble, and Monopoly with her little sister where they made up their own rules. The family extends its deepest appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Intensive Care Unit at RVH who treated Karen with the utmost care, compassion and respect, and provided her and her family with spiritual support and medical guidance. Private family services will be held, followed by interment in Park Lawn Cemetery in Sudbury. Jerry, Elwood Ormonde “Pete”

With deep sorrow, the family of Elwood ‘Pete’ Ormonde Jerry announces his peaceful passing at the Campbell House Hospice in the presence of his loving family at the age of 83. Pete was born in Stayner to Elmer and Vida May Jerry. Pete is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Nee Smart), his son Mike (Terri) Jerry, grandchildren, Maxwell and Mardi, daughter Lisa (Jeff) Hare, grandchildren Kaylee, Lexi and Ali, son Kevin (Sandrah) Jerry, grandchildren Madeleine and Vivienne, sister Merle Miller (Jim) and numerous relatives of the immediate family. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Dorothy, stepmothers Muriel and Vera and brother in law Norris Miller. Pete had a very quick wit, a very generous manner to him, always willing to share ‘guidance and support’ to those that reached out. He had a tremendous circle of friends he loved to travel with to warm locations. Pete loved his time at the cottage on Healey Lake, travelling for the winters with Barb to Portugal, but most importantly spending time spoiling his grandchildren. After graduating Grade 8 ‘with honours’ from Nottawasaga SS23, Pete worked alongside his father on the family farm before embarking on a career in auto body repair with Orville Boyer’s Auto Body. Pete would go on to found and operate Jerry’s Body Shop before joining his wife Barb in the mid-80’s with the operation of Barb’s Clothes Closet. Pete was extremely generous with his time and energy volunteering within the community. He was extremely proud to be recognized with the Lions Club’s highest award, The Melvin Jones Award, and was equally as proud with receiving The Thomas Stayner Award for his commitment to the Town of Friendly People. Died suddenly on Thursday August 24, 2017 at his cottage at the age of 74.  Bill of New Lowell, loving partner of Judy Richardson.  Predeceased by his beloved wife Donna (2007).  Loving father of Charlien Stull (Francis Brosens), Loralee (Jim Rawn), Bill (Maribeth) and Patrick (Carley).  Cherished grandfather of Kyle (Meg), Jessica, Denise (Stephen Burrows), Spencer (Anne-Marie), Miranda, Caroline, Nicole, Timothy, Griffin, Oliver, Penelope, Ben, Ridley and Katie and of great grandson Liam.  Dear brother of Charlotte Casey, Patricia (Eric Green) and Jack (Sharon) Casey.  Dear uncle of Robert, Terry, Perry, Danny and Mackenzie.  Bill will also be missed by Judy’s daughter Melanie (Ray Kennedy) and grandchildren Evan and Emily. It is with sadness that the family of Helen announce her passing, peacefully on Saturday August 19, 2017 at Raglan Village, Collingwood at the age of 91.  Helen of Toronto, Smith Falls and Stayner, beloved wife of the late Donald Bodiam (2014) for 67 years.  Loving mother of Bruce, Brian (Lorene) and Kevin (Melinda).  Cherished grandmother of Taeya (Robert), Blake, Ryan (Melissa), Justin and Shawn and great grandmother of Daniel.  She was predeceased by her parents Roy and Sarah Campbell and siblings Walter, Mary and Jean.  Helen was very active with the West Toronto Optimist Club where she made many close friends.  She was known for her fabulous baking and preserves.  She was loved dearly by her family and her many friends.  She will be missed.  Friends will be received at the Stayner Brethren in Christ Church, 1152 Sixth Line North, Clearview Township (N of County Road 91) on Friday August 25, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The Funeral Service will follow at 1 o’clock in the Sanctuary.  Reception to follow.  Private family interment at Stayner Union Cemetery. Beverley of Wasaga Beach, beloved wife of the late Lloyd Burton (2017) for 62 years. Loving mother of Nancy (Richard West) and Stephen (Laura Carter). Cherished grandmother of Sarah (Glenn Kawai), Jennifer West and Jeremy Burton and to great grandchildren Ted and Cecilia Kawai. Dear sister-in-law of Willa Byers, Gloria Bissell, Robert Burton (Elaine), the late Augustus Burton and the late Margaret Paddle. Loving mother of John (Karen), Neil (Fausta), the late Jim (Jackie) and the late Danny (Colleen). Cherished grandmother of Tracy (Dean Ernst), Laurie Walker (Jessica), Kayla, Kyle and Sean Walker and great-grandmother of Nyah and Brennan Ernst.
