Died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Josephs Hospice, Sarnia. DONALD HENDRA, of Camlachie, was in his 69th year. He was a loving husband to Prima (nee LaCroix) for 47 years. He was a devoted father to his son Darrell and his wife Karen Hendra and his daughter Mandy and her husband Ian Wright and a loving and most proud papa to Jillian, Grace, and Nate Hendra and Madi, Ty, Ben, and Sam Wright. He will also be missed by his mother Laura, his sisters Marlene Lukey (John) and Carol (Larry) Wilson and his brothers John (Marg) Hendra and Paul (Anita) Hendra. He was predeceased by his father Ralph Hendra (2003). He was a son-in-law to Fabiola and the late Alvin (1993) LaCroix and brother-in-law to thirteen and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Don loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends, especially cheering on his grandchildren, spending time at the family cottage in Chesley Lake and playing games of PrimaDonnas horseballs with his special group friends. He also enjoyed being outdoors chopping wood, biking, spending time with his dog, and cutting grass. He retired after 43 years as an Electric Motor Technician. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 388 in Wyoming and a past member of the Huron Shores Optimist in Camlachie. Don’s family would like to thank Doctors and nurses who cared for him over the last year and a half. A service celebrating Don’s life will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Camlachie Community Centre followed by a reception.
