Randy Cada of Mississuaga First Nation in his 61st year, beloved husband of Marjorie for 38 years. Loving father of Dan Morningstar ( Debby ) of Indiana, Denelda Cada ( Junior Debassige ), Dakota Cada both of Mississauga First Nation and the late Nick Cada ( Michelle Martin ) of Peterborough. Special Papa Randy to Nicholas, Alexander, Maverick, Eleanor and Isabella and predeacesed his granddaughter Autumn. Dear son of the late Angus and Elizabeth Cada and son-in-law of the late Jessie and Russell Morningstar. Dear brother of John Cada of Thunder Bay, Wayne Cada of Sault Ste. Marie, Judy Caibaiosai of Mississauga First Nation and the late Roger and Bob Cada. Dear brother-in law of Joann Niganobe, Connie Morningstar, Gloria Niganobe, Annette Alderton, Rosie Morningstar, Ron Morningstar and Willard Niganobe all of Mississauga First Nation and the late Harvey, Vivian and Donna Morningstar. His knowledge and skills were exceptional as a hunting gatherer and knowledge keeper. He was also a trainer for the Blind River Beavers Junior A hockey team for many years, and was an active and respected volunteer in his community. He served as Parole and Probation Officer for the Mississauga First Nation for many years. Glen is in his 85th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Joyce for 63 years. Loving father of Glenda (Mike), Randi (Jill), Cindy (Mike). Special Papa to Jeffrey (Gina), Angela (Alain), Rebecca (Ryan), Shannon, Christine (Chris), David (Stephanie), David (Krista). Joyfully remembered by his great grandchildren; Nicholas, Madelaine, Tyson, Makenzie, Olliver, Abigail, Hunter, Hayden, Jaxson, Korben, Benjamin. Dear son of the late Elswood and Lulu. Dear brother of Vivian (Shug), Sanford (Dolores), Lindsay (Laurette), Delbert (Alice) and brother in law to Bill (Frances), Shirley (Louis).  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Born in Beachford, Pembroke; raised in Kirkland Lake, worked in the mining industry for most of his working career. Glen and Joyce also lived in Windsor, Iron Bridge, Sudbury and Blind River. Glen loved sports, he coached hockey and ball. He was an outdoor enthusiast. Glen was the president of the steelworkers union in the mid 1960’s in Pronto. He was a health and safety representative with McIsaac and always looked out for the best interest of people. A great man lost his life on Thursday January 2, 2014 as the result of an unfortunate auto accident.  Nick Cada at the age of 32, beloved partner of Michelle Martin for 15 years.  Loving father of Nicholas Wilfred Cada ( 6 )  and Eleanor Irene Cada ( 4 months ) of Peterborough.  Beloved son of Randy and Marjorie Cada of Mississaugi First Nation.  Dear brother of Dan  ( Debby ) Morningstar , Denelda Cada ( Junior Debassige ), Dakota Cada.  Special uncle to Alexander Debassige and Maverick Debassige.  Predeceased by his niece Autumn Danielle Morningstar.  Dear son-in-law of Roger Martin ( Karen ) and Debbie Martin and brother-in-law to Danielle ( niece Alexa ) and Roxanne Martin ( nephew Carter ).  Nick will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by a large extended family of aunts and uncles and many friends.  Nick will be remembered as an amazing father, son, brother, nephew and cousin. Daughter of The Reverend William and Myrtle Helmer ( predeceased ) and sister of Bryan Helmer ( Joanne ), Wayne Helmer ( Barbara ) and the late Bill Helmer ( Debbie ). We regret the passing of Harvey Russell Morningstar on the 6th day of September, 2013.  Harvey was born on June 27, 1947.  He is predeceased by his mom Jessie Morningstar, father Russell Morningstar and sisters Vivian and Donna Morningstar.  He leaves behind his children Chandler Morningstar and his mom Roxane Christianson , Sandra Bowness, Derek Morningstar, Scott Morningstar, Christopher Morningstar, Tanya Morningstar and their mom Joyce Morningstar brothers Willard Pine, Ronald Morningstar ( Natalie ), his sisters Annette Alderton ( Fred ), Gloria Niganobe, Rosemary Morningstar, Connie Morningstar, Marjorie Cada ( Randy ) and Joann Niganobe and his many grandchildren and many, many many nieces and nephews.  Harvey would say right now, “don’t cry for me, I’m not here no more; I’m here with my chum Pete.  Man, it is good to see him again.  Mom and Dad are here too; so are Vivian and Donna.  Holy Mackinaw, I see Randy’s brothers Roger and Bobby.  O heck man, the gang’s all here.  They cleared the way for me well holy geez there is Larry, my brother-in-law.  He’s looking good too.  Still got that smile . . .the mischievous smile.  It feels good to have no more pain; so do not weep for me; I’m all good.  Always remember to take care of each other and we will see each other again someday.  Love you all.  At Harvey’s wish, cremation has taken place followed by private family services.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home, Blind River.  www.menardfh.com

At the Blind River District Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 77 years. Jean Daybutch of Mississauga First Nation, Loving mother of Brian Daybutch of Sault Ste. Marie, Rose Daybutch of British Columbia, John Daybutch of Orillia and Kelly MacLeod-Chenier of Quebec. Grandmother of 6 and great grandmother to 2. Beloved sister of Marilyn Mulholland ( late John ) of Thessalon and Roger Daybutch ( Shelly ) of Mississauga First Nation. Predeceased by her parents Steve and Eva Daybutch of Mississauga First Nation and siblings Alice Landry, Bob Daybutch, Sally Cuthbertson, Clarence Daybutch and Hazel King. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Jean was an active member of the Nippising Native Housing Association and North Bay Friendship Centre. She was also a proud member of the Alcoholic Anonymous for 33 years. Jean was also very well known along the Pow Wow trail for her beautiful handmade moccasins and crafts. A huge thank you to the Drs and nurses who took very good care of Jean at the Blind River District Health Centre. Your thoughtfulness and caring will always be remembered by the family! Dominic is survived by his loving wife and soulmate Angèle ( née Viel ), his two sons Dominik Jr and Kyle. Cherished son of Denis and Noëlla Bernard. Loving grandson of Rose-Alice Fournier.
