Martin, Mary (Eleanor) Kathleen- In her 100th year passed away at Vision Nursing Home, Sarnia on Friday June 28, 2013. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Leo (1987). She is survived by her son, Bob Martin (Heather); by her daughter, Anne Marie Barnes (John) and by her grandsons, Daniel and Christopher. She was born in Moncton, N.B. on May 6, 1914. She owned and operated a hairdressing business there until she married Leo and moved to New Glasgow, N.S. where Bob and Anne Marie were both born. In 1956 the family moved to Corunna, ON where she continued to work as a hairdresser. As a devout Roman Catholic, Eleanor was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Corunna where she served as President of the C.W.L. Those who had the good fortune to know or even meet her will remember her radiant smile and warm loving nature. Gracious beyond belief, she always put the needs of others before her own. As her health declined in her later years, her spirit and grace remained strong. She found only kind and charitable words for everyone. We are all blessed to have been touched by her. The family would like to take this time to thank Dr. Robert Borek for his care of Eleanor over the years and they would also like to thank the loving and caring staff at Vision Rest Home and Vision Nursing Home whose efforts were greatly appreciated.
