Bessie Ida Currie (nee Cameron)
Passed away peacefully at the Haliburton Hospital on Thursday, September 13, 2012 as the result of cancer.

Beloved wife of Douglas Currie. Predeceased by her first husband Fred Cox (1999). Loving mother of Lesley Ann-Marie Cox, Robert Cameron Cox, and predeceased by her son Allan Cox. Dear sister of Archie (Mary) Cameron, Clayton (Birdeena) Cameron, Susan (James) Peirce, William “Bill” (Brenda) Cameron. Daughter of the late Wm. Angus and Gloria Cameron. Daughter -in-law of Douglas and the late Shirley Currie. Fondly remembered by the Currie family, by her nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Friends are invited to visit the family at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Bobcaygeon Rd., P.O. Box 427, Minden, Ontario K0M 2K0 on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Funeral and Legion Service in the Chapel on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at the Minden Cemetery. Reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 636, (Hwy # 35 N and County Rd. # 21) Minden.

Memorial Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch # 636, Minden would be appreciated by the family

RAE, Grant R. of Haliburton

Grant Rae, long time resident of Haliburton passed away peacefully at the Haliburton Hospital on Saturday, September 8, 2012 with his loving family by his side in his 75th year.

Beloved husband of Doreen for 52 years. Loving father to Mike (Alison) and Scott (Sue). Loving grandfather to Kirsten, Matt and John. Dear brother of Joan (Morley) Nicholson of Little Britain, predeceased by Mildred and Daneen. Son of the late Jack and Verna Rae.

Grant was a Haliburton Main Street figure with his hardware store located in the middle of town, his home and woodworking shop close by. Grant was friend/mentor/employee of Gary Burtch of G.J. Burtch Construction for many years as well as all the guys who worked in the shop (Ed, Scott and Scott).

Grant was an old car enthusiast and was often seen around town in one of his woody wagons at shows and events. He enjoyed trips to car shows and days up at the shop
(ranch) with Doreen and family. Grant will be sadly missed by all he touched and advice he gave to over the years.

Friends are invited to visit the family at St. George’s Anglican Church, 617 Mountain St., Haliburton on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Church at 3:00 pm. Reception to follow in the church hall (downstairs). Cremation to follow.

Martin, Janice “Jan” (nee Cray)

In Loving Memory of Janice “Jan” Elaine Martin (nee Cray)

Jan passed way peacefully at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side  on Friday, May 11, 2012 following a brief illness.

Jan is the much loved wife and best friend of Frank Laity, Dear mother of Jamie Martin of Kamloops B.C., daughter of Pat Cray (Carol Doerr) of Toronto, and the late Mel Cray of Ottawa.  Jan will be greatly missed by her sisters Sue (Rick Cunningham) of Georgetown, Kathy Cray (Mike Stoyan) of Toronto, by her brothers Mike Cray (Mary) of Edmonton, Barry Cray (Kirsten Monk) of Minden and their families, and also by her many friends in Ontario, British Columbia and Prince Edward Island.

In accordance to Jan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jan’s Life will be held in Ontario and British Columbia at a later date.
