Obituary for Ronald Patrick Lee

Posted by on November 26, 2018

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Ronald Patrick Lee (Pat/Grandpa) this past October 31, 2018, at the age of 82 less than a year after the passing of the woman he loved, his wife Cecile. Patleaves his children Patrick Francis Lee (Linda), Irene Vecchi (Joe) and Corinne Lee (John Armstrong); his grandchildren Jeremy Adams, Julian Lee, Steven Adams, Nicholas Lee, Corey Adams and Mary Armstrong, Maria Oliveira, and his great grandchildren Emilie, Matilda, Eliza, Liliana, Ethan, Georgia and Henry.

Growing up in Sarnia, Pat left home early because the family never got over the loss of his brother in the second war. He was a young adventurer at 15, lied about his age to join the Canadian Airforce and off he went overseas with the occupation forces in Europe. There he quickly fell in love with a beautiful young Cecile Tuschl from Freyming France. Never mind the language barrier, love and passion needed few words for Pat and Cecile.
Their passion for each other resulted in the birth of Francis in France in 1957, Irene in Trenton, in 1958 and Corinne in Nova Scotia in 1962. Being a family in the armed forces, they moved around a lot from Nova Scotia to Belgium to Germany, and the island of Sardinia in 1968 to 1970 before moving back to Canada for good and settling in to Stoney Creek to raise the family.

Pat’s adventuring spirit especially shone through in Sardinia, where he learned scuba diving and along with his comrades salvaged extraordinary antiquities from beneath the Mediterranean Sea.
The family moved to Grassie and Pat began collecting Chryslers, specifically Chrysler Imperials. He put in a pool to gather the family in the summer and loved the holiday meals and cards, wine and liqueurs and the French cooking Cecile was so good at. Pat thoroughly enjoyed spending endless hours puttering around the yard and in his garage.
In retirement Cecile and Pat moved out to Palmyra for 13 years of full bliss together. Sadly, Cecile’s health and Pat’s stroke shook them from that bliss.
Pat passed away of pneumonia at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
