D. Jean Martin   1938-2012

Jean was born in Elma Township and daughter of the late Warnock and Janet (Hamilton) Bell. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Graeme Martin. Jean is survived by her cherished children Laura Martin (Roger Moorehead) Stratford, Scott Martin (Christie), Ayr, Stephen Martin, (Lauren) of  London. As well as son Paul Martin, Toronto. She was the beloved grandmother of Tyler Martin, Courtney Martin, Evan Moorehead, Brendan Moorehead, Olivia Martin, and Nathan Martin.  Jean is also survived by her sister Marg McLaughlin and husband Lloyd. Surviving also sister-in-law Helen Jacobs and husband Keith and brother-in-law Lloyd Martin and wife Gail. Jean is also survived by many nephews and their wives, also several cousins, (especially Pat). Jean spent 7 years as public school teacher and 30 years as a home care worker with the Red Cross and Town and Country. Jean’s love of her life besides her family was St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, and music with the Stratford Concert Choir, Jean was a founding member and life member of the Concert Choir and St. Andrews Church Choir. Jean spent many years composing family history which will live on and be a lasting memory to her family. Our family would like to thank the staff of People Care, Stratford, for their loving and special care while Jean was a patient. We would like to thank Dr. Bandy for his special care. We would like to thank Dr. Hugh Jones for his visits and Prayers and support for the family. Also many thanks to all those who visited and offered Prayers and support for Jean in her stay at People Care. Visitation will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 25 St. Andrews Street, Stratford, from 2 to 5pm. and 7 to 9pm. On Thursday August 16th. With the Funeral Service at St. Andrews Presbyterian Stratford, on Friday August 17, at 11am with visitation 1 hour before the service. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Hugh Jones. In Lieu of flowers, donations to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Stratford Concert Choir, or the Heart and Stroke Society. Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to The Heinbuck Funeral Home, 156 Albert Street, Stratford.  Burial will take place at Avondale Cemetery, at a later date.
