96 years. Passed away peacefully on Saturday November 11, 2017. Predeceased by his wife Ruby (2013). Loving father of Bill and Deb Pook, Harrow. Loving grandpa of Christopher (Kristyn) Pook, Ashley Pook and friend Will McKend and great granddaughter Ezri. Predeceased by his brother Jack Pook (1982), sisters Betty (Chuck) Piros (1958) and Audrey (Elmer) Robinson (2003). Also remembered by several nieces and nephews. Fred became a Pioneer Seed dealer in 1955 and a John Deere Dealer in 1958, thus establishing Fred G. Pook Limited. He was a member of the IOOF 309 Harrow for over 60 years. Fred was a participant in the Harrow Fair Parade for 59 consecutive years. He was inducted into the Essex County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2015. WATSA, Chittaranjan David

Passed away peacefully at home in St. Thomas on October 24, 2017 at the age of 74. Ranjan was the beloved husband of Margaret (nee Beynon), father of Shaila (Ryan) Visser, Sarita (Brian) Vandernaalt, and Mano (Kate) Watsa, older brother of Navo (late Bapuji) J. Chinoy, Prem (Nalini) Watsa, and Krupa (Ravi) David. Papa to Isaac, Zachary, and Anna Watsa and Alex and Sami Vandernaalt, and adored uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ranjan was born to Manohar and Irene Watsa on December 16, 1942 in Mangalore, India. He completed Diesel Engineering at the ACC Technical Institute and married Margaret, his British sweetheart, in 1970. They immigrated to Canada in 1971. He worked in London and Sarnia, became a partner in a John Deere dealership in Windsor, and settled in Harrow. Ranjan retired at 45 and for the next 25 years called the golf course his “office”. While he stayed active in business, he focused his attention on his family, the meticulous care of his property and time with friends. Over 34 years in Harrow, Ranjan was actively involved in the community, serving as treasurer at Christ Church, board member for the Chamber of Commerce, and President of the Kingsville Golf & Country Club. In 2014, he and Margaret moved to St. Thomas to be closer to family. Ranjan was an avid sportsman who loved golf, cricket, tennis and table tennis. His charisma and sense of humour made him the life of the party, while his generosity and willingness to help others endeared him to neighbours, friends and family alike. Ranjan will be remembered for his love of life, his unrelenting work ethic and drive, and his faith in God. Special thanks to his support workers, especially Jennifer Van Oorspronk. 80 years. Passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on September 10, 2017. Late of Harrow. Beloved husband of Harriet (White) (nee Dixon) and the late Verna (Ruggles) (2001). Loving dad of Debbie and Michel Bastien, Robin and Garry Hall, Amherstburg, Tim and Jackie Shepley, Harrow. Loving papa of Joel and Christynne, Vickie, Dan and Laura, Meaghan and Rob, Amanda and Brandon. Loving great-grandpa of Jaidyn, Isabella, Harrison, Evy, Tucker and 3 soon to be.  Also remembered by his stepchildren Gary and Julie White, Courtice, Wayne and Penny White, Staples, Deb and Glen Lamb, Wheatley and their children Ted and Rosin, Brian and Jen, Jennifer, Tyler, and Jenna. Predeceased by his sisters, Lorna Carter, Hazel Buhler and brothers Claude, Kenneth, Erwin and Glen Shepley. Merle retired from Chrysler Canada Transportation. He served as the kissing funeral assistant at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home for many years. He was a member and past president of the Harrow-Malden A.O.T.S. 97 years. September 8, 2017. Born November 28, 1919 in Harrow, ON, 6th child born to John Orville and Daisy Baylis. Married on October 26, 1942, beloved husband of 75 years to Hazel Mae (Wilson). Loving father of Leela (James), Mikey (late Kim), Robert (Monica), Marietta, Germain, Linda, Julia (Winston), Sherry, Tony (Helena), Melonie, Jeffrey (Razia), Marty (Susan), Vonda and Allen. Predeceased by Doreen (1945), Donald Jr. (1971) and Morris (2005). Loving grandfather of 40 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Dear brother of Vida, the late Keitha, Clarence, Robert, Elmer and Orville. Donald retired from Chrysler Canada with 35 years of service; he was a member of Unifor Local 444 and served several years as an auxiliary constable with Colchester South Police, served on the local Police board and final years as an animal control officer.
