Son of the late Michael (1977) and Yvette (2004). son-in-law of Ross Shepley and the late Cecile (2003). Loving father of Doug (Cynthia) Heffernan, Wayne (Maryann) Heffernan, Lisa Heffernan (Derek), Gord (Rebecca) Nascimento and Brandon (Jillian) Nascimento. Loving papa of LeeAnn, Kylah, Alyssa, Douglas Jr, Jordan, Dallas, Dawson, Matthew, Morgan, Alex, Jack and Mason. Dear brother of Delores (late Antone) Van Osch, Ray (Sue) Heffernan, Anne Heffernan and Jerry Heffernan. Al started his career in 1965 at Quaker Oats, then went on to manage UCO and manage the Harrow Farmers Co-op until 1991. It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Bernice Papke at the age of 90 years on Monday, May 14, 2018 peacefully with family by her side. Late of Royal Oak LTC, formerly of Harrow. Loving wife of the late  Rudy Papke, 2011. Cherished mother to Kathy (Larry) Babcock, Celia (Ted) Klassen, Wendy (Keith) Edgington, David, Kristen (Jon Hambly) and Jana (Dennis Flaming). Predeceased by her brother Walter (1991). Bernice will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Tyler, Jennifer (Dave Hunt), Lise (Brian), Nicole (Kurtis Ramsay), Bradley, Cameron (Whitney) and Devan. She also enjoyed her great-grandchildren Danielle and Andrea Hunt. Bernice’s first love was family and music was a close second. She enjoyed a successful career teaching music, kindergarten, working extensively with school choirs (High School) and church choirs in the United Church. She was an organist for the United Church and played piano for the Mennonite Church in her later years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Born November 15, 1927, Olney, England. Died peacefully March 6, 2018 at the age of 90. Late of Amherstburg. Predeceased by his wife Josephine (2010). Devoted father of Sarah, Amherstburg. He also leaves brother Roy (the late Sylvia) and his family and cousins in Britain, the United States, and Canada, as well as friends and colleagues around the world. Bill held a Ph.D. in plant pathology, and was a distinguished researcher and author. He was a dedicated volunteer in many service and cultural organizations. Howard loved his 3 grandchildren Ashley, Paige and Cole Parker. Predeceased by his brother Arthur (1969), sisters Susanne Hadley (1994), Mary Jane Kemp (2005). He will be remembered by his favorite sister-in-law Marlene (late Len 2011) Lovell. Also remembered many nieces, nephews and friends. Howard was retired after 38.5 years of service at Seagram’s Distillery in Amherstburg as an industrial mechanic (Mill Wright). It is with profound sadness that her family announces the sudden passing of Ava Marie Davis into the loving, protective arms of the Lord. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Ava was the cherished baby daughter of Sybil (Davis) and Arnell Davis. A duel citizen, Ava took great pride in being from the “D” and Harrow. Ava attended Junior Kindergarten at Queen Victoria School, Windsor, ON. then Harrow Jr. and Senior Schools.  She was a proud Harrow Hawk and was attending Kingsville High at the time of her death. She leaves behind her big brothers Julian and Sean Davis, her Grandparents Elise Harding-Davis and Garland Davis (Vicki), the late Velma (Lee) 2004 and A.V. Davis (1978). Aunts Daphne Davis (Robert Carreira) and Angelique (Davis) Speros (Nick), Jackie Davis, and uncle Walter Davis. Also remembered by a host of relatives and friends. Visitation at Gerald A. At age 99 years, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2018 at Riverview Gardens Chatham Ont. formerly of Harrow. Beloved wife of the late John Wilfred Darby (1995). Loving mother of Elizabeth (Roderick) McColl, Gibsons BC., Douglas Darby, Chatham Ont., Kathryn (Roger) Magnusson, Goshen KY, Charles (Diane Dietrich) Darby, North Bay Ont. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Michelle (1998). Cherished grandma of Matthew, Christopher, Kristin, Dennis, Jessica, Caitlin and Graham. Great grandma of 11 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Joyce (Raymond) McLachlan, Harrow and the late Delight (William) Rath. Ruth worked along side her husband John as an administrator of Darby’s Drug Store, and a long-time member of the Women’s Guild of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Harrow. 91 years. Passed away peacefully in the hands of her daughter surrounded by her loving family on January 30, 2018. Loving wife of the late Stanley Graves (2006). Cherished mother of Cherryll (Albert) Gay, the late David (1982) and daughter-in-law Clara Graves Schultz. Grandma of Angela Cope (Dan Carr), Bradley (Marie) Gay, Shelley (Pat) Larose, Kerri Ann (Kirk) Emberlin, Krystin Graves, Shanyn (Jeff) Bzowey and many great-grandchildren. Also remembered by several nieces and nephew especially Gary (Kathy) Graves. Gladys was a proud CKC breeder of Yorkshire Terriers for many years (Yorkharrow Kennels). She travelled with her husband Stan to dog shows winning many championship ribbons. She loved her dogs, they were her life. Visitation will be held at Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home 197 King St. W.
