WHITE, DAVID- Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on September 15, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, David White passed away at the age of 75. Loving husband to Kathy White for 40 years. Dear father to Kelly (Dan) and Tina (Tim). Grandfather to Kelsi (Luke), Katrina (Jon) and Devon (Bree). Great-grandfather to Nash and Garrett. Also survived by Barb (Bob) and her family and Kenny. Siblings Joyce, Orval (Maryanne), Allen, Doreen (Otto), Nelson and Janice. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. David is predeceased by his father Royden, mother Edna and his brother Ron. David worked for Holmes Foundry for 25 years. He loved his bingo and fishing but David’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. The family would like to send a special thank you to all the workers at St. Joseph’s Hospice.

Family and friends may visit with the family at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia) on Wednesday September 19, 2018 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be held at the funeral Home on Thursday September 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow.

PERRY, THOMAS – With his family by his side, Thomas John Perry, age 66 of Sarnia peacefully passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. He was the loving father of Jeffrey Perry (Amanda Laird), Jaime Ciatti (Anthony) and Andrea Perry (Keith Hunt) and dear “Pa” of Maisie. He is the brother of Robert Perry and uncle of Dayna and John Perry. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mae Perry and his brother John. Tom was a Chartered Accountant and Partner at BDO until his retirement in 2007. He was a proud and longtime resident of Point Edward and enjoyed his golf and baseball. GREER, JACK – It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Jack Earl Greer, age 91 of Sarnia, on Friday, August 31, 2018. He was the dear husband of Shirley (Scarrow) Greer and loving father of Donald (Patricia), Carol Davis (Stuart) and Bruce (Libbey), grandfather of Craig, Lauren, Jennifer, Rebecca, Kimberly and Luke and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Helen Kerr and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Erie (Pressey) Greer of Sarnia. Jack retired from Polysar after many years of service. MOIR, Ron of Sarnia

MOIR, RONALD – The family announces the death of Ronald Thomson Moir, age 88 of Sarnia. Ron passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Bluewater Health. He was the beloved husband of  65 years to Marion (Mull) Moir and loving father of Helen Taylor (George) of Guelph and Janet Hrycak (Steve) of Sarnia and the proud grandfather of Sherryl Taylor of Waterloo, Mae Hrycak (Brayden Hamilton)  of London and Wesley Hrycak of Wyoming and great-grandfather of Logan Taylor-Perks. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his parents James and Annie (Sharp) Moir and his brother Harold. Ron was the grandson of Scottish Presbyterian missionaries. He was born in Port Hope, Ontario. Ron received an Honour Chemistry BA at the University of Toronto. He was an analytical chemist and director of spectrometer–date system in the Research Department at IOL where he created at test named “the Moir Test” by Esso.  He retired after 33 years of service. He was a 57 year member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (261 Christina St. N., Sarnia, N7T 5V4) on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 2:30 pm. Friends are welcome to visit beginning at 1:30 pm. In loving memory of Michael James O’Byrne – He passed away on Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 at the age of 92 years.  He will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Grace; his son Jeffrey and wife Wendy (who was like a daughter to him); his son Jeremy and wife Susie and his four grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Nicholas, and Joshua; along with his many nephews and nieces in the Caribbean, UK, and Canada. He was born in Templemore, Tipperary, Ireland on April 27, 1926.  He was the last surviving member of his siblings. He will also be missed by sisters-in-law Dawn, June, Jenny, Maureen, and Lisa and brothers-in-law Cyril, Dave, Trevor and Guy. He will go to meet his loved ones who have passed before him:  his beloved son Gregory; brothers-in-law Gary, Afzal, and Kenn; his many siblings (John, Richard, Mary, Kevin, Patty, Paddy, Betty, Nancy, and Douglas; and his parents and parents in-law. He is also survived by brothers Pete (Jackie) and Robert and his sister Suzie Kosteniuk. Jerry was a retired cement truck driver and was a member of Reflections of Christ Church. WOODS, MILLICENT – At Bluewater Health on Friday, August 10th, 2018, Millicent June (McIntyre) Woods, age 85 of Sarnia passed away. She was the loving wife of the late Ray William Woods (2010) and dear mother of Julie Woods and Roberta Woods and adoring grandmother of Chelsie and Tori, loving Mama of Marissa, Caleb and Quinn. She is also survived by her brother Douglas (Kay) McIntyre. She is the sister in law of Muriel McIntyre, Gary (Sherry) Woods, Jean (Gord) Herman, Maxine (William) Graham and Lorraine (Glen) Woods. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was a special Grandma of Jamie, Darcy, Michael and Corey Windover. Millicent was a longtime member of Devine Street and Central United Churches. HAMILTON, PATRICIA – At LHS-University Hospital in London on August 10, 2018, Patricia Anne (Brunton) Hamilton, age 79 of Sarnia passed away with her family at her side. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Hamilton and sister of Joan Parker (Gary) and Harold Brunton (Mary).  She is survived by loving nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.  Patricia was a retired manager of Operator Services with Bell Canada. Patty was a resident of Sarnia/Lambton for her entire adult life, but she loved to travel.  She spent much of her life volunteering, was devoted to her church and a loyal friend. For her family, she was the true Matriarch, a source of strength, and instilled the importance of family. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 17th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10:00 am until the funeral service begins at 11:00 am at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia). Cremation will follow and her ashes will be interred later with her husband at Lakeview Cemetery. At Daisy’s request, there will be no funeral home visitation or service. Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service and Committal of ashes will take place at Resurrection Cemetery on Saturday, August 11th. at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Adam Kilner officiating. HARDY, KIRK – It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden death of Kirk Robert Hardy at the age 42, on Monday, July 16, 2018. He is survived by Ron O’Quinn, his loving parents Ken Hardy and Colette Johnston (Gary), his sisters Stacey Kokko (Gerry), Kelly Labonte (Yves) and Step- sister Jody Campbell (Greg). He was an awesome uncle to Blake and Brady Kokko, Abigail and Audrey Labonte and also survived by his Step-Grandma Mary Johnston as well as his fur babies and best friend Elaine VanSchyndel. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his partner Darren Bigney and grandparents Ken and Doris Hardy, Al and Kay Brann, Keith Johnston and his aunt Sherry Thompson. Kirk regularly worked as an advocate for people with autism. His love of that role, combined with his interest in law led him to pursue a new career as a paralegal and was the owner of Bluewater Paralegal. He advocated for the underdog. He was a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Point Edward Ex-Servicemen’s Club. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held from the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia) on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment of Kirk’s ashes will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 24th between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. CHIVERS, HAZEL – Hazel Elizabeth Chivers, (Liz), passed away peacefully on Monday July 2, 2018 just short of her 90th birthday. She was born August 13, 1928 to Frederick & Pearl (Essey) Cuthbertson in Petrolia Ontario. She is survived by son Chuck Chivers, his wife Sonja Gould their children, DJ Gould, Jaime and Collin Morton, Jason and Jenna Gould and Michaela Chivers, her son Ed Chivers and brother Bruce Cuthbertson, as well many nieces and nephews in both the Chivers & Cuthbertson families. She was predeceased by husband Robert Chivers, her parents, and siblings Marion McCrea, Donald Cuthbertson, Jack Cuthbertson, and Kathleen Hooftman. Liz was a lifelong learner earning her Bachelors of Arts in History in 2001 at the age of 72 from University of Western Ontario. She was an avid golfer with her golf partner Marion McCrea at her side and bridge player. We want to thank the staff of Bluewater Health Palliative Care Team for the wonderful care she received. Visitation will be on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday July 17, 2018 from 1:00 pm prior to the service to be held at 2:00 pm from the D. J. She will be missed profoundly by her children, Ann (Mark) Johnson, and their children, Jared (Danielle) Johnson, Erica (Brian) Vergunst and Shaina (Kevin) Normand; Yvonne (Ric) Willing, and their children, Mike (Chloe) Wade, Nick (Erin) Wade and Lauren Willing; and David (Nancy) Vanderhoeven, and their children Quinn and Maya. She is also missed by her great-grandchildren, Rhett and Vera Johnson, Bep and Lowie Vergunst, Baby Normand and Margaret Wade. She is also survived by her only sister, Gerda Bolhuis and several nieces and nephews. BALATSOUKAS, Eleni

BALATSOUKAS, ELENI – At Sumac Lodge on Friday, June 29, 2018, Eleni Balatsoukas, age 80 of Sarnia passed away. Eleni was the daughter of the late Konstantinos and Alexandra Balatsoukas and was the dear sister of Tom and Lili Balatsoukas, Dennis and Sophia Balatsoukas and Paul and Katina Tsaprailis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia) on Monday, July 2nd between the hours of 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Prayers will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, July 3rd at 12 noon and will be followed by a procession to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1299 Murphy Rd., Sarnia) where the funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated by the family. KAIJA, Dora of Sarnia

KAIJA, DORA – The family sadly announces the passing on Sunday, July 1, 2018, of Dora Frances (Dawson) Kaija, age 88 of Sarnia. She was the dear wife of the late Bruno Kaija (2013) and dear mother and grandmother of Jane Kaija (John) and their children Leesa (Rik) and Joshua (Keatha), Bruce Kaija (Jill) and their children Jenni (Kyle), Janet (Ethan), Brian and Paul, Leesa Anderson (Keith) and their children Celia (Jeff) and their daughter Sydney and son Andrew and Rachel (James). She is the sister of Annie Stoner and Irma Bannister. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Dora Dawson, and her brother Harry Dawson. Dora worked in Radiology for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Sarnia and Mercy Hospital in Port Huron. She loved her Bassett Hounds and her walks with friends. Funeral services will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia) on Thursday, July 5th, 2018 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Memorial donations made to the Sarnia Humane Society or the Bluewater Centre for Raptor Rehabilitation (BCRR) would be appreciated by the family. Shaw: Kevin Patrick of Sarnia

SHAW, KEVIN– At Bluewater Health June 22, 2018 Kevin Shaw passed away at the age 52. He leaves behind his beloved Spouse Shaunah Lepine. He will be missed by his siblings; Gary Shaw of Alberta and Jo Ann Dunn of Sarnia. Kevin was uncle to Renee, Trevor (Alejandra), Laura, John (Kate) and Rob. He was predeceased by both of his parents Rose. Shaw (2015), Lee Shaw (2008) and his brother Randy Shaw (2003). Kevin will be sadly missed by his best friend and cat “Pepper”. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Sarnia Moose Lodge ( 874 Philip Street, Sarnia, ON) on Sunday, July 8th from 1:00 p.m. – 5 :00 p.m. Memories and messages of condolence may be made through www.djrobb.on.ca .

Peacefully at home, Brenda Lee Chappelle (Pollard) of Sarnia passed away at the age of 56. Dear mother of Heather Chappelle and her husband Reuel Greaves, Charissa Pollard, Jordan Chappelle and Breanne Pollard. Embury: John of Sarnia

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved son and brother John Embury of Sarnia at Ottawa General Hospital on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the age of 52. Beloved son of Ray Embury and Pam and Rick Armstrong. Will be greatly missed by his brother Brian Embury and Laura Boyd, step-brother Tyler and Jen Armstrong. Loved nephew of Marianne and Dick Lockett, Tom and Cheryl Engleson, Betty – Lou and Bill Hyatt and David Embury. Will also be missed by his many cousins and friends. Also by his cherished dog Shelbey. John was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadians, Detroit Tigers and enjoyed his trips to watch Nascar Races. PARSONS (Jones), BRENDA LEE– Peacefully at Twin Lakes Terrace on June 12, 2018 at the age of 67 Brenda passed away. She was a loving mother to Greg Jones. Dear grandmother to Emma Jean Jones. She will be missed by her sister’s Donna Jean (Bob) and Cheryl (late Len). She is also survived by 8 nephews and nieces. Brenda is predeceased by her husband Earl Parsons, brother Pat Williams (survived by Karen) and her parents Doris Williams and Len Williams. She will always be known as a hard working mother who later on in life met her husband Earl and then spent the next 25 years truck driving across Canada and America together, She was a strong believer in doing charity work with children and was always willing to help anyone in need.
