KUKURA: Linda Madeline Marie (Sauve) of Sarnia

Posted by on September 6, 2017

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Madeline Marie Kukura (Sauve), on Sunday, September 3, 2017. She died at the age of 59, from sudden complications due to her on-going illness. Beloved wife of Jerald Kukura, who she was married to for 38 years. Loving daughter of Maurice Sauve (2013) and Shirley Rick (Larry). Dear sister to Steven Sauve and Debra Thomson (Jim, 2017). She is survived by her adoring children, Shawn Stewart-Kukura and Terra Bakker (Donnie), who she loved and cherished with all of her heart. She left behind two grandchildren, Arjen and Fiala, who were the lights of her life.

Linda was born on July 26, 1958, in Sarnia where she spent her life. She was dedicated and passionate toward all that she did. She worked at TREL for 30 years and she truly enjoyed her job and the people she worked with. In her earlier days, some of her favourite things to do were workout at the gym with her daughter, go shopping, read at the beach and spoil her family with many delicious meals (her turkey and dressing were the best!). Linda was never happier than when she had a cup of David’s tea, a warm bath and a good book. Family was the centre of her life and she loved unconditionally and gave so much of herself without ever expecting anything in return. Although she was ill and it was her time to go, she lives on through the many wonderful memories of her and she will never be forgotten. Linda will be missed tremendously by those closest to her, always and forever.

Donations can be made in Linda’s name to the St. Joseph’s Hospice, where she spent many days by her father’s side before he passed away. There will be a private gathering for close family at the Lakeview Cemetery on Friday, September 8, 2017. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at the Sarnia Riding Club on September 17, 2017, from 1-4 pm. Arrangements entrusted to the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE.

Jones, Robert William of Sarnia

JONES, Robert W.

Robert (Bob) William Jones of Sarnia passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on Monday, August 28th with his loving wife of 40 years by his side.
His larger-than-life persona and trademark stubborness will not be forgotten.
He was born on December 25th, 1942 in Chatham and was the son of the late Marshall Jones and Reba (Crouchman) Jones.
Bob was a long-time employee of United Taxi and also drove transport for Trimac, where he retired in 2007.
His son Craig will always remember him as being a hard-working man who enjoyed attending Blue Jay games with his sons.
He was a dedicated Leafs fan and an advid golfer, which often left his wife, Donna, reminding him that he was married to her and not to his golf clubs.
Some days Bob was a grumpy, stubborn old fart, but his son Corey describes him as perfect.
His daughter, Carri-Lynn (Frank Laferriere) will remember her dad as always being someone she could depend on and always being there when she needed him.
Above all, we will all remember him as being an amazing, caring, thoughful husband and father. While we are extremely sad to lose him, we
are happy that he is now in a better place and with his best buddy, Maxwell. Bob spent his last moments looking into the eyes of his wife, both sharing one last memory together.
Donna would not have been able to get through this final journey with Bob without the help of his amazing health care team, Sheila, Steve, Mike,
Dr. Kim, Richard Kelch with his Northgate Pharmacy Team and also many other helpful individuals.

A celebration of life will take place for close family and friends on Saturday September 2nd at the family home at 238 George St. between the hours of 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Beginnings Stroke Recovery Sarnia or St. Joseph’s Hospice.  Arrangements entrusted to the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE.

Harris, George (Duke) Francis of Sarnia

George “Duke” Harris
February 25, 1942 – August 2, 2017

It is with a broken heart we announce, after a courageous battle recovering from heart surgery,
Duke lost his fight. Duke is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eleanor Harris, daughter Kimberly Drury and son-in-law Brad Drury. He was the best ‘Pazzy’ to his pride and joy to his grandchildren Lauren Drury (Brad Hodgson) and Aaron Drury and his special great- grandson Hunter Hodgson. Duke was predeceased by parents George and Elsie Harris, in-laws Lee and Fred Martin, brothers Bill and Bob Maughan and son Bob Harris (March 2005). Having been born in his parent’s home on Alfred Street, Duke was proud of his Point Edward lineage. Duke played Junior Hockey first in Sarnia for the Sarnia Legionnaires where they won the Junior B Championship, then in St. Catherine’s with the Tee Pees winning a Memorial Cup Championship and went on to have a career in the Western Hockey League, American Hockey League and World Hockey Association, highlighted by two championships; the first in Vancouver with the Canucks, and the second in Rochester with the Americans. Following Duke’s retirement from hockey he was fortunate to join Sarnia Cranes, where he spent 25 years as a crane operator. Duke retired in 2005 to become a full time cab-driver for his grandchildren. ‘Pazzy’ never failed to answer the call for a ride, an errand, or whatever Lauren and Aaron needed. Duke loved his vacations in Florida with the “Point Gang” and not too many days went by without a drive to the St. Clair River to make sure the water was flowing in the right direction! Hey Buds, we will miss your quick wit and old storytelling. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the D. J.
