Betty Ann Segedin passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017 with her loving family by her side, she will be dearly missed. Betty was a cherished member of her family and is survived by her husband Larry Kitzman, son Richard Van Der Gulik (Sharon), daughter Brenda Gowing (Jim), daughter Tracy Jarosz (Tim Karges), stepson Larry Kitzman (Joanne) and stepdaughter Leanne Kitzman-Dyol (Gerry). Betty is the proud grandmother of Beth-Ann (Tom), Mathew, Tish (Tyler), Linsey (Mark), Tia, Jewel, Glory, Chantal, Justin, Kyle, Marinia and the great-grandmother of twelve children. Betty is survived by mother-in-law Glory Kitzman and her sister-in-law Theresa Segedin and predeceased by her parents John and Theresa Segedin and her siblings John (Theresa), Rosie (Karl), Eva (John), Jake (Shirley), Helen (Henry), Annie, Barb and Karl. On August 14, 2017, as Betty passed, a new life began. Betty’s grand-daughter Tish gave birth to a healthy baby girl Taya, Betty’s 12th great-grandchild. Taya Anne Betty Cote was born at 9:45 p.m. on August 14, 2017. Miracles really do happen. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the London Heath Science (University Hospital) Cardiac care for their kindness and respectful care provided to Betty while she was in the hospital. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on August 27, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the upstairs hall of the Preston’s Royal Canadian Legion, 334 Westminster Drive North, Cambridge. PANDUR: William Charles “Bill” of Strathroy

Suddenly, yet peacefully, at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy on Thursday, August 17th, 2017.  William (Bill) Charles Pandur at the age 82.  Lovingly remembered by his wife of over 51 years Mary Jane (Galbraith).  Loving father of Cathy Annett (Mike) and Michael Pandur (Julie).  Bill will always be remembered as “Papa” to Connor Annett, Carter Pandur and Kyle Pandur. Brother of Tony Pandur.  Survived by several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his sister Rose, his brother in law Ben and sister in law Nora.  Bill worked for Bell for 35 years and will be remembered for his great sense of humour by everyone who knew him.

 

Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Sunday, August 20th, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with prayers at 6:45 pm.

 

Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 am.  Interment to follow at Strathroy cemetery.

Dorothy Marguerite Marsh (Stoner)

June 13th, 1932 – August 10th, 2017

In her 86th year, after a truly blessed life and with her family present, passed into the arms of her Beloved Saviour.  Dorothy was the daughter of the late Roy and Sarah Stoner.  Loving wife of the late Stuart Marsh (2009). As kind and patient matriarch of this large family, she will be greatly missed by her children Gary (Karen), Jim and Liz, Marilyn Akey, Robert and Marian, Stephen and Sharon, as well as her sister in law Geraldine Stoner, brothers in-law Stanley, and Harold Marsh. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Dorothy is predeceased also by brothers Gordon, Basil, Harold, and her sister Donna Meerburg, and son-in-law Gerald Akey.  She will also be missed by long time friend Leila Rendle, and many nieces and nephews.  Born and raised in Arkona and a resident of Forest since 1969, she was well known in the community and enjoyed owning and operating Hungry Hollow Donuts with Stuart.  Dorothy was an avid Blue Jays fan and enjoyed analyzing each game with her fellow critics.

Survived by his 9 grandchildren; Angela McCallum, Pamela (Jeff) McCallum, Everett (Lindsay) McCallum, Daniel McCallum (Trevor Schram), Lindsay Thompson, Matthew (Sherri) Thompson, Erin McCallum (Aneesh Bose), Ryan McCallum and Bernadette Brown. Following a lifetime of integrity and kindness, Jeanne Marie Bain (née Martini) of Rodney and Fenelon Falls, finished her earthly journey on Sunday, August 6, 2017. Jeanne was born in Windsor, Ontario to the late Charles and Margaret Martini. She was predeceased by her beloved husband William Bain (1999).

Jeanne was a loving, proud and supportive mother of Bill (Cynthia) Bain, St. Thomas; Mary (Ted) Soucie, Coldwater; Anne (Ross) Tucker, St. Catharines; and Kathleen Bain (John Henry), North Bay. Jeanne will be warmly remembered forever by her grandchildren: Rebecca (Jay) Rabjohn, Rachel (Stefan) Loesch, Stephen (Shannon) Soucie, Bill Bain, Emily (Josh) Herzog, and great grandson, Tanner Rabjohn.

She leaves her sister, Lenore Enright, of Cambridge. Predeceased by infant brother Charles and brothers-in-law Frank Enright and Harold Bain.

Jeanne adored family and friends. Her good humour and wit will be happily remembered by six nieces, nephews and their families, by good friends Roxann and Bill Nethercott, and her best friend since the age of four, Mary Taylor.

While raising her four children, Jeanne graduated with a BA from the University of Western Ontario in 1967.

As a child, she was an accomplished tap dancer and we loved her telling of those adventures and other fun olden days’ stories. As an adult, Jeanne appreciated beauty in nature and was an avid gardener. She loved travelling, sharing hospitality at garden and dinner parties, and she was a wonderful conversationalist.

It was a privilege to have Jeanne as our mother, relative and friend.

DAMEN: Jacob Matthew of Strathroy

Suddenly at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Thursday, August 3rd, 2017. Jacob Matthew Damen of Strathroy was taken by an aggressive bacterial infection after a courageous and hard fought 12 hour battle, at the age of 35. Jacob is the loving husband of Carolyn (nee Kettlewell) and doting, adoring father of Lucas and Nolan. Jacob is survived by his parents Jerry and Kim Damen of Strathroy, twin brother Tyler Damen (Annie Harlow) of Strathroy and sister Julia of Strathroy. Jacob will also be missed by his father-in-law Stuart Kettlewell (Holly McCall) and mother-in-law Janice Prohaszka, both of Strathroy. Special Uncle to Ian, Colin and Archer and all the other special little ones in his life. Jacob will also be remembered by his sister-in-law Laura (Kevin) McGaw and brother-in-law Murray Kettlewell (Natasha England). Jacob will be remembered with love by his Nana, many Aunts, Uncles and cousins and a multitude of friends from Strathroy, the University of Waterloo, from his career at Toyota and Henry and all of the others whose hearts he touched along the way. Jacob leaves a legacy of best friends from throughout his life.

Visitation for Jacob will be held on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00pm and from 6:00 – 9:00pm at Denning’s of Strathroy. A Funeral Service will take place at the Strathroy United Church on Thursday, August 10th at 11:00am. Suddenly, on Thursday, July 27th 2017, Rachel Catharina Joris, beloved fiancée to Richard (Bobby) Tusch, and mother-to-be of their first child, passed away at the age of 26. Rachel was the loving and vivacious daughter of Rudi and Sheila Joris and daughter-in-law of Richard and Lori Tusch. Sister of Courtney (Bryan), Tara (Craig) and Todd Joris and William (Natalie) and Georgia (Carl) Tusch. Proud Aunt of Alan, Kaitlin, Andrew, Braeden and Jameson. Cherished niece of Frank (Helen) Bennemeer, Henri Bennemeer, Joanne (Wade) Huffman, Linda (Dennis) Booker, Sonia (Hector) Breiter, Ingrid (Graham) Chivers, granddaughter of Corrie Bennemeer.

Predeceased by grandparents Jan Bennemeer, Casey VanDorp, and Roger and Catharina Joris. Rachel will be missed deeply by countless cousins, dear friends, extended families and much-loved dog, Bronson.

Rachel was born on November 3, 1990 in Strathroy, Ontario. She was always a lively, beautiful, kind, and passionate person, never hesitating to pursue her interests and try new things. She truly found her calling in nursing a few short years ago and became certified as a Registered Practical Nurse in June 2017. Rachel had plans to practice mental health nursing.

The family extends sincere thanks to the dedicated staff at Victoria Hospital, the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Department, and other first responders. Heartfelt thanks also go out to friends, neighbours, and community members for their thoughts, prayers, and support.

An informal visitation will be held at Caradoc Sands Golf Club, 24500 Saxton Road, Strathroy on Sunday, July 30th, 2017 commencing at 2:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 4:30pm. Lorne Acton, youngest son of the late Clayton and Velma (Griffith) Acton. Loving husband of 54 years to the late Arlette (Comeau). Survived by his children Désirée (Paul) McCaulsky, Maureen Hlushak, Lorne Acton Jr. and Rick Parrish; and grandchildren Andrew, Kristina, Stephen, Alex, Sarah and Rick. Remembered by his siblings Doug (Greta) Acton and Donna (Bill) Gray and sister-in-law Mary-Lou Acton.

Predeceased by his brother Ken Acton.

A Wake will be held on Sunday July 30th, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Watford-Branch 172, 5275 Nauvoo Road, Watford, ON. Passed away peacefully July 23, 2017 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, at the age of 71. Beloved daughter of the late William & Rose Lovick. Loving wife of the late Robert Westgate. Mother of Rob Westgate (Erika Metvedt), and Amy (Brad) Langford. She will be missed by her 3 grandchildren Emily, Zac and Ella. Predeceased by her sister Joan Grogan. She was blessed with close friends which she held very dear.

A memorial visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Friday July 28, 2017 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Interment of ashes at a later date. It is with profound sadness the family of Sarah Joan Marshall announce her passing on July 22, 2017 in her 77th year in Strathroy, Ontario. Beloved wife of Bill Marshall of 58 years. Loving mother of the late Gloria Marshall, Earl (Brenda) Marshall and Beth (Tom) Hunt. Cherished grandma of Jonathan (Julie) Marshall, Sarah (Shaun) Kernaghan, Christine (Joe) Kennedy, and Rachel (Brandon) McCaskill. Proud great-grandma of Elle Marshall, Cadence Kennedy and Archie Kernaghan. Survived by her sister Ann Bishop (David Foster) and step-brother Kenneth Bishop. The family now rejoices that she is in the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 from 6-8p.m. at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. With saddened hearts, the Steven family announces the passing of Nancy at Bluewater Health Services in Sarnia on Friday, July 21, 2017, at the age of 78 years.  Beloved wife of 54 years of Basil Steven.  Dear mother of Lisa McEwen (Allan)(grandchildren Chad, Mark, Krista), David (Patti)(grandchildren Ryan (Nikki); Christopher, Danielle), Craig, and Scott (Christine)(grandchildren Nicholas, Alexander, Colin).  Sister of Gerald Hart (Alice), and James Hart.  Predeceased by her parents Alexander and Nellie (Sandick) Hart, and her infant sister Margaret Patricia Hart.  Nancy was a devoted member of the Forest Fair Board Ladies, and a proud and active supporter of both Forest and Warwick community activities.  Nancy had a great love for her family, gardening, agriculture, and sports.  Visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF FOREST, 9 James Street South, Forest, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.   A Funeral Service will take place in the chapel on Wednesday afternoon, July 26, 2017, at 2:00 pm.  Interment to follow at Warwick Cemetery.  For those who wish, in memoriam donations to the Forest Agriculture Society (Fair Board Ladies) or to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.denning.ca
