Peacefully with his family by his side at Strathmere Lodge Nursing Home, Strathroy on Thursday, February 22, 2018 Gerardus “Gerry” Kleinzieverink passed away at the age of 88.  Loving husband of Josina Kleinzieverink for 62 years.  Beloved father of Mary J. (Gregory) O’Neill and Jeff (Cindy) Kleinzieverink.  Survived by his grandchildren Kyle, Jason, and Luke.  Dear brother of Elisabeth Koomen of Woodstock.  Sadly missed by many extended family members in The Netherlands.  Cremation has taken place. Peacefully, at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018. Frances Ann Waite (Campbell) of Rodney at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband John Robert “Bob” Waite in 2007 and her parents Lorne and Irene (Forsyth) Campbell.

Survived by brother in law Carmen Waite and sister in law Dona Waite.

Frances is survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.

Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF RODNEY on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 am.

Peacefully surrounded by her caring and loving family at her home on Monday, February 19, 2018 Marjorie Anna Hounsell of Strathroy passed away at the age of 88.  Loving wife of the late Murray Hounsell.  Beloved mother of Linda Hounsell-Garside of Strathroy, Stephen Hounsell of Iona Station, Trevor Hounsell of West Lorne and Michael Hounsell of Delaware. Jongsma, Mr. Ebbel – of Chatham has gone to be with the Lord, Friday, February 16th, 2018 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, at 93 years of age with his sons by his side. Beloved husband of the Late Evelyn (2009). Dear father of Melvin (Raquel) and William (Donna). Dear grandfather of Joseph (Martha), Crystal (Eben), Ayla, Robert, Bradley (Cynthia), James (Ashley), and Angela. He will also be remembered by his nine great grandchildren.  Ebbel is predeceased by his siblings Ben, Sylvia, John, Frank, and Hilda. Survived by his sister-in-law Ena.

Following a brief illness; Glenn Grant Thomson passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the age of 63.    Survived by his beloved wife Donna Thomson. Cherished son of Grant Thomson. Loving father of Michael, Ryan, Liam and stepdaughter Christine Boulianne.  Sadly missed by his grandchildren Cole Boulianne, Amber and Zachary Thomson-Pelletier.  Glenn also leaves behind his sister Dianne (Randy) Brown, sister-in-law Sue Thomson, niece Stacey (Jim), nephews Marc (Mandy), Jeff, great nephews Aden, Max, Nolan and Wyatt, several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Welcomed into the loving arms of his mother, Anna Mae Thomson, son Daniel and brother Don.

Many in-laws, nieces and nephews in the Ward and Murphy/Watson/Norris families dearly miss Glenn.   He was well respected by colleagues at CN Rail during his 45-year career.   Loyal four-legged companions Jake & Buddy miss their walks with Glenn.

Earl Barry Gordon formerly of Hamilton

Passed away suddenly with loved ones beside him at London Health Science Centre University Campus on February 1st, 2018 at the age of 56

 

He will be lovingly and sadly missed by his wife Marie Smith. Loving step father to Lisa (Paul), Steve (Emily) and his step grandchildren Jessica, Autumn, Quinn and his four legged, foo-foo Zoey. He will be missed by his mother Frances Earl (Hesson) of Hamilton. Predeceased by his father Ronald Earl (2006) and his grandmother Florence Hesson (2013) Survived by his siblings Lesley (Bob), Barb (John), Bob (Liz) and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and lots of friends.

He was a very devoted and loving husband and played an instrumental role in his family’s and friend’s lives.

He enjoyed being a truck driver, he made many friends along the way during his years of experience.

 

At the family’s request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Peacefully, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Friday, February 2, 2018, Leslie “Les” George Welch, of Whitby, formerly of Rodney, passed away at the age of 93.  Born on April 17, 1924 to George Welch and Lillian (née Markey).  Beloved husband of Louise (née Watson), of Whitby.  Loving father of Janice (Jim) Paterson, of Oshawa.  Cherished grandfather of Krista Hester (Kevin) and Kyle Paterson (Heidi).  Great-grandfather of Lucas and Grady Hester and Brody and Jake Paterson.  Survived by nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by siblings, Kathleen, Arthur and Joyce.  Les served in WWII with the Royal Canadian Air Force.  In his early years, he owned and operated Welch’s Grocery Store and later, partnered with the Red and White Grocery Store in Rodney.  While Les was recognized as a business man in Rodney, he also dedicated many years to volunteering with the Kiwanis Club of Rodney, of which he joined in 1970.  In their spare time, Les and Louise enjoyed golfing, ballroom dancing and playing bridge.  A Funeral Service will be held at DENNING’S OF RODNEY, 212 Furnival Road, Rodney (519-785-0810) on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2 p.m.  Visitation will precede the Service for two hours (12 – 2 p.m.).  Interment in Rodney Cemetery.    In lieu of flowers, donations to Calvary United Church, Rodney, would be appreciated by the family.

Beloved husband and best friend of Joanne McLean (née Earley) for 61 years. Loving father of Joe (Ross), Jim (Wendy), Jeff (Shelley) and Mike McLean. Cherished Grandpa of Ryan, Jenn, Cody, Nicki, Michelle, Wade and Emily. Great-grandfather to Kaidynce, Xavier and Riker. Survived by his sister Dorothy (Raymond), sisters-in-law Eva and Joan and brothers-in-law Bill (Heather) and John (Nanette). Grant will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by his brothers Douglas and Claire and brother-in-law Alan.

As per Grant’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Grant’s life will be held at Caradoc Sands, 24500 Saxton Road, Strathroy, on Saturday, March 31st, 2018 from 2p.m.-5 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada. Peacefully passed at her home on January 30th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late David van den Hengel (2008). Loving Mother of Joan (Perry) Jewell, Pat (Dan) Slegers, Deb (Joe) Joris, and Connie (Mike) VandenHeuvel. Cherished Grandma of Ian, Kyle, Eric, Nicole (Ben), Kayla, Stacey, Sarah, Alison, and Chad. Predeceased by her beloved granddaughter Alisha. Survived by her siblings Jack (Mary) Van Gaal, Annie VanLieshout, Gerrit (Betty) Van Gaal, Grad (Annie) Van Gaal, Wilma (Guy) Vervoort, Mary VanGeel, and Irma (Bill) Sleegers. Survived by her in laws Truus (Gerry) Karperien, Sharon van den Hengel, Tina (Murray) Simons, Diane (Stan) Lewicki, Peter van den Hengel, Ria (Dennis) Brady, Nancy (Darryl) Asplund, John (Lissy) Husch. Predeceased by her parents Herman VanGaal, Martina and Henry Megens, her brother John Van Gaal and in laws John VanLieshout, George VanGeel, Liz Van Gaal, John van den Hengel, Ted van den Hengel, Rika (John) Burgwal, Toni Husch, Alphons Simons, and Edith van den Hengel. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at 11a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Strathroy. Peacefully at Chatham-Kent Hospice on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018, Ronald Gordon Wade passed away at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late Melba Marie Wade (nee Stokes). Cherished step-father of Nellie Willan. Grandfather of Sandra and Rob Houweling, the late Richard Northcott, and Steven Northcott. Great grandfather of Shawn Houweling, Ryan and Tanya Houweling, and Dustin Houweling. Great great grandfather of Kara, Brady, and Jessalyn. Ronald will be forever remembered by his extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A graveside committal service will be held in Dresden Cemetery at a later date. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at St. Joseph Hospice in London on January 30th, 2018; at the age of 57. Beloved wife of Steve Fonger. Loving mother of Sarah and Emily Fonger. Sister of Robert Lovell (Paula), Thomas Lovell, and Mark Lovell. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Shirley Lovell. She will be missed by many extended family.
