At Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017; Malcolm “Mac” James Giffen of Strathroy passed away at the age of 67. Survived by his niece Debbie Dennis and nephew Douglas McCormick.

Predeceased by his parents Melville and Ruth Giffen (Patterson) and sister Joan Crowe.

On Friday, April 21, 2017, John Deyle, of Rodney, passed away suddenly at the age of 74.  Beloved husband of Annette (née Oostveen) for 52 years.  Loving father of Terry Deyle (Kim) of Rodney, Lorrie Rushton (Jon) of Simcoe, Cor Deyle of Dutton, the late Ronnie Deyle (1997), Johnny Deyle of Rodney and Annie Deyle (Rick) of Rodney.  Cherished grandfather of Tracy Kelly, Tyler Deyle and Tara Robichaud, Evan, Lucas and Emily Vezsenyi, Cor and Jackie Deyle, Nathan and Amanda Deyle, Brittany, Jake and Mike Deyle, Freddy and Tiffany Hathaway.  He will be remembered by 15 great-grandchildren.  Survived by brothers Cornelius, Tony, Theo, Jake and his sister Leah.  Predeceased by his brother Eric and sister Anne.  Also predeceased by his parents Jack and Rika Deyle.  Relatives and friends will be received at DENNING’S OF RODNEY, 212 Furnival Road, Rodney (519-785-0810) on Monday, April 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11 a.m.  Interment in Rodney Cemetery.  Memorial donations, payable by cheque, to a charity of choice would be appreciated.  Condolences online www.denning.ca

At Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family, Helena (Leni) Schering nee Croeze of Melbourne at the age of 70 went to be with her Lord.  Lovingly remembered by her husband Tony, daughters Liz Schering (Mike Hebb) and Jennifer Claessens and sons Tim (Miranda) and Jeremy Schering (Tammy).  Dear grandma of Adam and Breanne Claessens, Luke, Pierce, Blake, Logan, Jackson, Curtis (Laforge) and Brooke Schering.  Loving sister of Dave, Eric and John Croeze.  Special aunt of Bradley and Caitlyn Croeze and many other nieces and nephews.  Loving niece of Elsie Schoelier, Gertie Patterson, Becky Schalk and many other aunts and uncles.

Peacefully, with her family by her side, our dear daughter, sister and aunt, Patricia (Pat) Louise Habart of London passed away on April 18, 2017, just shy of her 73rd birthday.  Predeceased by her father Horace Habart (2003).  Dearly loved and sadly missed by her mother, Lillian Habart (nee Vernon) of London, sister Susan Peacock (Jim Price) of Rodney, nephews Barry Peacock, Jamie (Joanne) Peacock all of London, and Ryan (Elsa) Peacock of Dutton.  Special Aunt to Addy, Ben, Blake and Cate.  Pat was a kind and giving soul who dedicated most of her life to the care and well-being of her Mom and Dad.

Peacefully, on Monday, April 17, 2017, Les slipped away to join the love of his life Donna, who predeceased him on January 15, 2017.  Les was the much loved father of Lesley (Frank) Hollingsworth, Dan (late Terri) Campbell, Andy (Jackie) Campbell and Cathy (Dan) Giles.  He was the proud and loving grandpa and great-grandpa to Bobbi Hollingsworth, Jessi (Jason) Bettencourt and their son Niko and his sister Diem; Alex Campbell (Sydney Carroll); Ashley Campbell (Chris Payne) and their soon to be born son; Erin, Jason and Sarah Campbell; Andrea (Shane) Alderman and their children Brooklynn, Parks and Marius and Nathan Giles (Bekah Wilkie) and their son Noah. Les is survived by his brother Elwood (Loretta) Campbell, his sister Marilyn (Jim) Cooley, sister-in-law Joyce Campbell and brother-in-law Doug (Kathy) Miller and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Allen (Harriet) Campbell, brother Ron, and his in-laws Alvin (Jessie) Miller.  Les worked for many years alongside his father and brothers at Allan D. Campbell and Sons Limited.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and “tinkering”.  Les sang for many years with the London Men of Accord and was a founding member of the Strathroy Vocal Federation- Barbershop Quartet singing and the SPEBSQSA were in his blood.   As per Les’ wishes cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY 519-245-1023 on   Wednesday, April 19th from 2-5 p.m.  Interment in Poplar Hill Cemetery at a later date. Loving husband and best friend of Linda Steckley (nee Campbell), and the late Marlene Steckley (nee Sampson, 1992). Cherished father of Karen and Marvin Bennett, the late Brian Steckley (1994) and Laura Armstrong, Janet and Ken Shaw, Terry Buckland, Rick Buckland, Todd Buckland, Tammy and John Gartner. Earl will be remembered by his grandchildren Tyler, Nicole, Kyle, Lacey, Samantha, Cody, Lee, Jarrod, Larrisa, Ashley, Abigiale, Ainsley, and Brooke; and great grandchildren Jocelyn, Jaxson, Ella, Olivia, Jace, Brodie, Austin, Jordon. Peacefully, at Dearness Home in London, Pauline Popovich of Rodney, passed away in her 89th year, on April 8, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Michael P. Popovich. (May 28, 1992). Loving Mother of Dr. Michael Popovich (August 16, 2016) and his wife Mary of Rodney, Pamela Van Breda and her husband John of London and Paula Luchak and her husband Peter of London. Dear Grandmother of Crystal and Jonathan (Cindy) Van Breda of London and Laura Luchak of London and Sara Luchak of Toronto. Sister of Morley Stoddard and his late wife Joan. Predeceased by her sister Virginia. Survived by brother-in-law Ernie Popovich and his late wife Elizabeth of Fingal, sisters-in-law Loraine and her late husband Dr. Frank Popovich of Burlington and Margaret and her late husband Joe Popovich of Goderich. Our Dad, Kenneth Dougald MacKellar, passed away on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017. Survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Mildred and his 4 children, Beth Hunter, Kathy (Ted) Holmes, Sandy (Phil) Countryman, and Dugal (Faith) MacKellar; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; son-in-law Don (Linda) Hunter, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Erle and Rita MacKellar; siblings Neil MacKellar, Audrey Fenton, Shirley Ball; nephew Jeff Ball and Dad’s very special friend “Jesse.” Dad was a Veteran of the Navy, a member of Sprucedale United Church, Jaycee Senator, Legion member, member of the telephone pioneers, and retired from Bell Canada. In his early yeas Kenneth enjoyed being a pig farmer, and in later years walking his dog Jesse. A special thanks to Dr. Huffman, Dr. Dubuff and the staff of the Chatham-Kent Hospice for your compassionate care to our Dad and family. Thanks also to the medical staff at C.K.H.A. and neighbours who helped our Dad along his way. At Dad’s request there will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. HOMORODEAN: Nick of Strathroy, Ontario

Nick (Nicolae) Homorodean has left his earthly home to join his Father in Heaven on Saturday, March 25th in the year of our Lord, 2017 at the age of 89, of Strathroy, Ontario.  Nick was born at Ford City, Windsor, Ontario and came to Strathroy at the age of 7.  He had a sister Mary and a brother Cornell.  Nick’s father had a shoe repair shop and at the age of 19 his father needed Nick to come and work.  Nick retired at 75.  He served the community for 56 years.  He attended the First Baptist Church, Strathroy, taught a class of boys, was Sunday School Superintendent, was a member of the Men’s Fellowship Breakfast Group and also a deacon for many years.  Nick married Lillie McDonald on September 20th, 1950 and they had a family of 5.  Peter, Holly, Sandra, Andy and Donna.

We lived at 80 Thomas Street, Strathroy for 66 years.  Nick attended Strathroy District School until grade 11.  Nick played hockey with the first Rocket Hockey Team in Strathroy.

Lovingly remembered by his wife Lillie (McDonald), his children Peter, Holly (Bryan) Barclay, Sandra (Jeff) McKinnon, Andy, Donna Wilton (Glyn Knapman), his grandchildren Natacha, Tanya, Jevon, Taylor and Jayme and his great grandchildren Amber and Jevon Jr.  Survived by his brother Cornell (Isabel) and brother in law John A. McDonald (Karen).  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his sister Mary McElwain (Rev. Bill).

Visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where a funeral service will take on Thursday at 11 am.  Interment to follow at Strathroy cemetery.
