GRYLLS, JeannineIt is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jeannine Grylls (née Gour) into the hands of God at 80 years of age, on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Health Sciences North, surrounded by her loving family. She is beloved wife of husband of 50 years of marriage, Thomas Grylls, wonderful and loving mother of Michel (Aline), Patrick (predeceased), Daryl (Dee), and Jacques (Diane). Her grandchildren are Paul, Jennifer, Sheldon, Maxine and her great-grandsons are Jonathan and Jake. Daughter of the late Arthur and Albertine Gour, sister of Louis Gour, Lilianne Paquette (predeceased), and Paul Gour (predeceased). One of her great enjoyments was family gatherings, and her annual traditional New Year’s Day dinner where family members gathered under her love and care for over 40 years. She also had lunch every Wednesday in Hanmer with a large group of friends which was a weekly ritual. In keeping with Jeannine`s wishes, there will be no visitation. Predeceased by her daughter Pauline. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Lynne Ornella (Barry), Marc Guerette, Guy Laurin (Christine), Jean-Paul Prévost (Andrea), Robert Prévost (Chantal), Michel Laurin (Leanne), André Laurin (Kate) and her 15 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Aurore Bonin (Jean-Guy), George (Pauline), Aimé (Reina), Gilbert (Lucie), Noella Pitre (Raymond) and Conrad. Onil retired from INCO after 31 years and worked hard on his farm. Son of the late Joseph and late Alphonsine (née Noël) Lanteigne. Beloved husband of 60 years to Lucille (née Gosselin) Lanteigne. Loving father of Colette, Gilles (Rita), Claire Tremblay (David) and Monique Laferriere (Wade). Cherished grandfather of Cortney (Jon), Jordan (Tara), Danielle, Mathiew and Adam. Great-grandfather of Gianna and Jack. Predeceased by his siblings; Fabien, Emma, Alexie, Louise, Emerentienne, Edgar, Jeannette and Agnès. Sadly missed by many relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Lamèque, N.B. and established himself in Sudbury the year of 1950. Mr. Lanteigne worked for 36 years, as a miner for Inco at Creighton Mine. He was also a member of the United Steelworkers 6500. Valier was a proud member of the “Carrefour francophone” and the “Club joie de vivre”. Beloved wife of 53 years to Ron Chartrand, loving Mother to Robert and his wife Connie; dearest Grandmother to Joëlle of Ottawa. Rita is the daughter of the late Romeo Alfred Chartrand and Marie-Anne (Venne). She will be fondly remembered by siblings: Fernand (deceased) of Noëlville (Lucie, Paulette, Francine, Bernard, Vincent, Richard); Thérèse of Ottawa; Lionel (deceased) of Noëlville (Anne, Michael, Danny, Charlie, Giselle); Gérald and Irène of Kapuskasing (Estelle, Raymond, Chantal); Robert and Jane of Florida (Lisa, Bobby); and Gilles and Denise of Cochrane (Denis and Marc). Her passion for education and helping others was felt by many. Her most treasured times were those spent at camp with family and friends on Lake Nipissing in Monetville. Elle fut prédécédée par ses sœurs et son frère: Berthe Rochon (feu Henri), Fleuride Lalonde (feu Roger), Yolande Boulard-Thériault, Lucille Maisonneuve (feu Marcel) et Laurier Boulard (Monique). Elle fut prédécédée par ses deux beaux-frères Denis et Claude Beaulieu.Solange pratiquait sa foi avec une très grande dévotion et était reconnue pour sa tendresse, sa patience et son grand cœur. Elle a dévoué sa vie entière à son époux, ses enfants et ses petits-enfants qui comblaient son bonheur. Ses talents artistiques étaient sans comparaison. La peinture et la couture étaient parmi une multitude de talents dont elle possèdait. Solange était sans doute la reine de son foyer…très dévoué et très aimé. Elle restera dans nos cœurs infiniment. Katherine fought a courageous and graceful battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Allan McDougall. Loving mother of Gerald Theoret (Diane), Lorraine (Karl Barrett), Jacques Theoret and step-mother of Muriel (Kelvin Schmidt), Aurore (John Ribalkin ), Lorraine “Louie” Landry (Lucien), David (Joanne Viau) and mother-in-law of Monique Viau. Sadly missed by many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, by her 13 grandchildren and her 17 great-grandchildren. Therese was a kind and generous person. She loved to cook, prepared amazing meals, playing cribbage and defeating her husband at cards. She was also a member of C.W.L. for 15 years. In keeping with Therese’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at (time to be confirmed) in Holy Redeemer Church, Sudbury. He worked on the Great Lakes boats for many years. Then joined Inco for 30 years. He loved camping, boating and fishing on Manitoulin Island for many years. SLATER, SusanIn her sixtieth year called home to enter into the joy of her Lord and Saviour. Born in Toronto March 5, 1955. Promoted to heaven at the Maison Vale Hospice on December 21, 2014. Exceptionally loving wife of Andrew Slater, married May 31, 1991. Extraordinary mother of Jonathan Cole Slater (May 5, 1993) and Joel Emerson Joseph Slater (August 28, 1994). Predeceased by her father Ray Herbert Jacobs. Survived by her mother Caroline Jacobs and siblings Rae Ellen Edmunds (Rick), John Jacobs, Tim Jacobs (Andrea), Leslie Jane Jacobs and Christine Smith (Les). Sue graduated from Laurentian University with a (Hons.) B.S.W. and was a social worker before attending Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. She practiced as a family law lawyer in Sudbury and was appreciated by her clients as a loving, compassionate and articulate advocate of their cause. Notwithstanding her career, her true character shone forth as a home maker and mother. She put her career on hold for 15 years while she nurtured and home schooled her sons before returning to the practice of law in her fifties. Sue was always actively engaged in her church, serving in various capacities, her first love being her Lord. Sue was incredibly gifted and creative as a producer of fine quilts. This became a passion of hers and the many who received a quilt from her appreciated her talent and the warmth of her heart. More recently she took up knitting wool socks, warming the feet as well as the heart of many. Her desire was to be a Proverbs 31 woman and to assist younger women to aspire to that goal. “An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels” (Proverbs 31:10). The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Funeral service at Glad Tidings Church on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. In her final days here on earth Sue received exceptionally loving care from the staff at the Maison Vale Hospice.
