BOUILLON, Bernadette (née Cyr) of Val Caron, ON

Posted by on July 11, 2014

BOUILLON, BernadetteFebruary 10, 1930-July 8, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family announces the gentle unexpected passing of Bernadette on July 8, 2014 at the age of 84. She is survived by her beloved husband Albert Bouillon of 64 years, her children Claudette Fredette (Dennis), Guy Bouillon (Pamela), Lise Berry (John) and Marcelle Bouvier (Hector). Bernadette is predeceased by her loving daughter Lorraine Bouillon. She was admired by her ten grandchildren-Patrick, Roxanne, Christine, Kyle, Nicole, Jeffery, Stephanie, Danielle, Sylvie, Danielle and she has left behind twenty wonderful great-grandchildren. Devoted daughter to predeceased Napoleon and Mabel Cyr (née Fournier), predeceased to her brother Fernand (Huguette) and sister Pauline (Rudolf), and survived by her siblings Frère Jean-Marie of l’Abbaye Saint-Benoît-du-Lac, Paul (Val) of Prescott, Yvonne (Don) of Sudbury, Gilles (Lucette) of Montréal, and Michel (Jocelyne) of Alberta. Bernadette lived her life as an educator: she raised five well-established children, she taught grade school for over thirty three years at various elementary schools, more specifically at St-Anne’s School in Hanmer and she continued her teachings into the community long after her retirement. She was an active member of the “Centre Club d’Or de la Vallée” for many years where she participated in various activities and also assisted her husband in his treasury tasks. Bernadette’s choice of sporting activities was bowling; she belonged to various leagues and did so for over fifty years. Bernadette was a beautiful, vivacious woman with a quick wit and a lively sense of humour. After retirement, she spent many hours caring for her flowers and gardening. She was passionate about sharing her skills with her grandchildren, some of whom are still trying to find their “green thumb”. She also loved puzzling; whether it was crosswords, word searches or complex puzzles. She was a force to be reckoned with when it came to playing cards-she had the ability to manipulate your hand so that she could win, every time. Cribbage was the name of the game! She will be remembered for her big heart as this woman always put everyone ahead of her own needs. There was never a lack of hugs and kisses-pinching your cheeks was her specialty and we will all have red apple cheeks because of her passion to show us her love and admiration. She was such a gentle, kind soul that will be greatly missed. We always knew that Bernadette was our angel-now she has received her wings. The family will receive family and friends at Cooperative Funeral Home, 4570 St-Joseph, Hanmer, Sunday, July 13th, 2014 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A mass will follow on Monday, July 14th, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Paroisse St-Jacques, Hanmer The family suggests donations (by cheque only) to the ALS Canada/Société canadienne de la SLA.
