Gerlach2Reinhold Gerlach – of Brunner, passed on to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at Sakura House, Woodstock after a long struggle with ALS. He was born December 5, 1946 in Gronau, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1951. Reinhold was a member of Poole Mennonite Church where he shared his song leading talent, participated in various singing groups and taught Sunday School. He enjoyed the mechanical and welding aspect of automobile restoration, photography, reading and his 28+ years in the printing industry. Rein courageously fought the last years with ALS which robbed him of physical health, but his love for God infused him with joy till his journey’s end. Though he could not speak, his eyes and smile spoke volumes. Rein lived life with fearless determination to succeed at his various interests through experimentation and research. His biggest accomplishment was being faithful
Beloved husband of Connie (Musselman) Gerlach for 25 exciting years. Dear brother of Herbert and Edith Gerlach, Elinor and Eric Tuer. Fondly remembered by his father-in-law Clayton F. Musselman, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Pat and Ron Wagner, Jerry Musselman, Roger and Anne Musselman, Dean and Carol Musselman and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Elvira Gerlach, brother Friedhelm Gerlach and mother-in-law Irene Musselman.

Adair, MaxineMaxine Adair – of Listowel, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at the age of 79. Maxine was a former 4H instructor and a former Women’s Institute member.  She enjoyed knitting, reading and making crafts.

Beloved wife of Richard (Dick) Adair whom she married in 1953.  Loving mother of Lauretta and Chris Raven, Linda Chrissley, Don and Patti Adair.  Special grandma of Mark and Nicky, Kristy and Julian, Emily and friend Kyle, Mike and friend Leona, Jen and great grandma of Liam, Casey, Riley and Reese.  Sister of Ken and Linda Baillie, Audrey Ludington, John Baillie, Barry and Cheryl Baillie.  Fondly remembered by the extended Adair family, Lenore Moser and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ryan, NoellaNoella Ryan – of RR2 Atwood, passed away unexpectedly at University Hospital, London on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at the age of 59. Noella enjoyed spending time with her family and loved living on the farm with her horses and dogs.

Beloved wife of Edmund Ryan whom she married in 2006.  Dear mother of Chad Carey (Cathy) and step mother of Sherri Ryan (Shane) and Tina Ryan (Andrew).  Special nanny of Mike, Sophia, Savannah and Alexandra.  Sister of Lilly and Brian Maughan, Gloria Gaudet, Yvette Doiron, Rita and Charles Melanson, Larry and Marilyn Doiron, Jackie and Gerald Hebert, Raymond Doiron, Al Doiron, Fernand and Sharon Doiron, Aline and Paul Smith.  Fondly remembered by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Noella Ryan and John Fagan, Lloyd Ryan, John and Rita Ryan, Mike and Deborah Ryan, Madonna Ryan, Patricia and Wayne Walsh, her first husband Charles Carey and many aunts, uncles, nieces,nephews and cousins.

Acheson, BevBeverley (Bev) Acheson – of Monkton passed away peacefully as a result of a stroke with his family by his side at Stratford General Hospital on Saturday March 26, 2016, two days before his 65th birthday.  Bev was a licensed mechanic and farming was his hobby.  He was a former volunteer firefighter with the Monkton Fire Department for over 15 years.

Lifelong friend and beloved husband of Wilma (Hymers) Acheson whom he married in 1978.  Loving father of Kevin (Cathy).  Cherished grandfather of Jevin Acheson-Clark (Lindsey), Jody, Michael and great grandfather of Ryker and Ryla Wilson.   Remembered by his sister Denise Acheson, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Donna Bauer (Mervyn), Dina Patterson (Ken), Wendal Hymers (Cathy), Walter Hymers (Sandy), John Hymers (Dianne), his two half-sisters Cindy and Sherry, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He will be missed by his best friends (puppies).

Predeceased by his parents Sam and Bunny Acheson and parents-in-law Cecil and Dorothy Hymers.

YANTZI, Wilfred of Poole

Yantzi, WilfWilfred Yantzi – of Poole, with his wife by his side, took Jesus’ hand and passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Friday March 11, 2016 at the age of 63.

Wilf’s family wish to express their appreciation to the family who graciously donated their loved one’s lungs in order for him to receive a double lung transplant in 2005.  This allowed him 11 more years with his beloved wife Marlene (Ropp) whom he married in 1975 and his loving children Rochelle and Bruce Langlands, Jason and Jenni Yantzi and Renee Yantzi.  It also gave his grandchildren Riley, Alexis, Austin, Dustyn, Zachary, Liam and Megan special time with their Papa.  Wilf’s brother Marvin is thankful for the time they spent together on the farm while he was still able to enjoy tinkering and fixing farm machinery.  Wilf was a faithful member of Poole Mennonite Church where he held many positions over the years, most recently as Elder.

Fondly remembered by Marlene’s family, Rosemary Stein, Carol and Owen Cook, Willard and Mary Ropp, step-mother Mary (Schultz) Ropp and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents William and Vera (Schultz) Yantzi, father and mother-in-law Stanley and Leona Ropp, and brother-in-law Warren Stein.

Alfred was formerly of Milverton and was a faithful member of Poole Mennonite Church where he served on various committees.  He was secretary of Son Light Missions for many years and served on many agricultural boards.  Alfred had a passion for family genealogy compiling two family books.

Beloved husband of Laura (Roes) Kipfer with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage.  Loving father of Lloyd and Barb Kipfer, Doreen and Don Roth.  Cherished grandpa of Brent (Sarah), Bryan (Anita), Bryce (Anjana), Brad (Kelly), Lori (Travis), Dennis (Yvonne) and great grandpa of Joel, Micah, Joanna, Markus, Julia, Lena Kate, Daniel, Nayan, Kiaan, Kingston, Levi, Braeden, Connor, Carter and Zach.  Dear brother of Dora Roth and brother-in-law of Esther and Ralph Kropf.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Chislett, ReginaldReginald Chislett – passed away peacefully at his residence in Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell on Wednesday January 20, 2016, one week short of his 87th birthday.  Reginald was retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force where he served as a flight engineer on the Hercules Aircraft.

Beloved husband of Margaret (Hawkins) Chislett whom he married in 1954. Loving father of Doug Chislett and Debra Woodske of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Dodi and Grant Morgan of Listowel, Bill and Leslie Chislett of Smithville.  Special grandpa of James Morgan, Jessica and Mike Carter and great grandpa of Jimmy and Annabelle.  Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.  A special thank you to the friends and staff at Ritz Lutheran Villa.

Predeceased by his parents James and Suzanna (Jones) Chislett.  Reg was the last surviving member of his family being predeceased by eleven siblings.

Schalk, GerardGerard Schalk – of Listowel, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday December 26, 2015 at the age of 75. Gerard was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church.  He was a former businessman in Atwood/Listowel as owner of Gerard Schalk Auto Body and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 259 Listowel.  Gerard cherished the time spent with his family while camping, snowmobiling, travelling across this country and travelling abroad.  He was an avid Nascar fan who followed his Fords from the livingroom as well as visiting many of the tracks.

Devoted husband of Edith (Ropp) Schalk whom he married in 1964.  Loving father of Susan and Jamie Murr, Laurie Schalk, Donald Schalk.  Proud grandfather of Michelle and Chad, Mahria and Mike, Cody, Kurtis, Danielle and Eileen, and Derek.  Great-grandfather of Cohen, Carter and Hadley. Dear brother of Willa Ament.  Fondly remembered by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill Ropp, Fred and Verna Ropp, Marg and Bruce Bates, Doug and Valerie Ropp and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

(Bill) – of Route 1 Atwood, passed away peacefully on a crisp sunny morning in the comfort of his home, with the wood stove on, and the smell of bacon in the air, surrounded by his family on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at the age of 90. Well known as the owner of Frank’s Jewellers in Waterloo which he inherited from his father, and since 1975 the proud owner of the family farm near Atwood, Ontario.

Loving father and best friend of son Jim, son Bill and wife Heather, and son Bob and partner Leanne.  Special grandpa of Brittany, and Kelsey and friend Nathan.  Remembered by his niece, nephews and Helen Ann.

Predeceased by his parents William P. and Roxie B. Frank and his brother Douglas Frank.

Marcotte, Robert4Robert (Rob) Marcotte – of Listowel passed away after a lengthly battle with cancer, at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Wednesday October 21, 2015 at the age of 65. Rob was an avid outdoors man. He was a member of the Listowel Rifle and Revolver Club, enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycling, coaching and playing hockey and wood carving.
Beloved partner of Faye Yost. Father of Erika Marcotte and fiancé David Schwarzer of Utopia. Brother of Donald Marcotte, Gloria Floristein LeClair, John Tower and his wife Jean, and Joan Dougall. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and by Faye’s family, Jenn and Curt Berfelz and their children Taynton and Brynn, Craig and Julianne Jantzi and their daughter Blakleigh and the extended Yost family.

Dunnell, William2William (Bill) Dunnell – of Trowbridge passed away unexpectedly at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday October 19, 2015 at the age of 71. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Listowel Br. 259 and the Army and Navy St. Mary’s Br. 265. He was a former player and Alumni of the St. Marys Lincolns hockey club. Wearing No. 3 he played defense for New Jersey in the American Hockey League. Bill was a player with the Listowel Oldtimers Hockey team, an avid golfer and former member of the Listowel Golf and Country Club.
Beloved husband of Judy (Hamilton) Dunnell. Loving father of Andrea and James Haines of Ottawa and Melissa and Paul Bartman of Listowel. Special grandpa of Madelyn, Ben, Hanly and Peyton. Step-father of Jeff Mathers and his son Charlie, Brad Mathers and Pam and their son Lane. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Doug and Chris Dunnell, Sandra and Keith Denemy, Anne and Emille Cliché, Karen and Lyn Forman and Leonard Cuylle. Kelly, Bob2KELLY, Robert (Bob) – passed away unexpectedly at his residence RR2 Atwood, on Sunday October 11, 2015 at the age of 80. Bob was a farmer at heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching plays at the Drayton Festival Theatre and Saturday night dances with Bernice.
Beloved husband of Bernice (Thomas) Kelly whom he married in 1956. Loving father of Chris and John Williams, Rick Kelly, Dan and Joy Kelly. Special grandpa of Bret Williams and friend Melissa and their children Niklas and Connor, and Andrew Williams and friend Jenn. Brother-in-law of Trevor Smith and Jean Wright.

Nethercott, KenKenneth (Ken) Nethercott – It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Ken in the early morning hours of October 3, 2015 at Listowel Memorial Hospital in his 89th year. Ken was a faithful church member and very dedicated to Atwood United Church where he held many offices over the years. He was a former member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 332 Atwood. His hobby was woodworking and over the years he made many treasures for family and friends. Ken loved reading, but farming was his passion and he was well known for the acres of strawberries that were enjoyed by so many.
He leaves to mourn his wife Eileen, daughter Nancy Sinnamon (Wayne), son Jim Nethercott (Christina), son Jeff Nethercott (Marie Claude), grandchildren Tyler, Natasha and fiancé Chris, Ryan, Noah, Adam and Clara, and sister-in-law Myrtle Nethercott. Fondly remembered by the Sturgeon and Smith families and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Clara (McCrackin) Nethercott, his first wife Helen, his second wife Barbara, son John and brother Roy.

Connell, RyanRyan Connell – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved father, brother and precious son, Terence Ryan Connell of St. Catharines. Ryan left this world to be with his loving Maker on September 22, 2015 in his 50th year.
Ryan was predeceased by his father Terry, and was a devoted and loving father to Evan and Julia and will be forever remembered by Rhancha. He will be deeply missed by his mother Fern (Smith) Connell, his sister Carla and her husband Calvin Shevalier, his nephews Spencer and Andrew, as well as his many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Levi was a member of Riverdale Mennonite Church, Millbank. Levi was a quiet man who believed in the Lord as his Saviour. He enjoyed spending time with his family and appreciated nature, especially watching birds.
Beloved husband of Elmina Kuepfer whom he married in 1965. Loving father of Cora and Elroy and their son Bryce; Seranus and Darlene and their children Scott and Stacey; Norm and Tari and their children Greg, Miranda and fiancé Justin and Nick; Ezra and his children Mallory and Riley; Edith and Glen and their children Cody and Ainsley; Manuel and Linda and their children Tyson and Reese; Mary and Joe Streicher. Wanda was a former custodian of the Elma Logan Recreation Complex for 20 years. She was a member of the former Monkton Optimist Club, a participant in Monkton Minor sports as a coach and enjoyed playing slo-pitch. She had a great love for animals especially her dog Bella and her cats Sam and Pawz.
Beloved wife of the late Larry Machan who predeceased her on August 2, 2015. Loving mother of Sandra Machan and Tom Crowley and Tammy Machan and John Newbigging. Machan,  LarryLarry Machan – of Monkton, passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday August 2, 2015 at the age of 76. Larry was the President of Machan Construction Ltd which he owned and operated with his brothers. Larry enjoyed going for drives with his friends to Goderich Harbour to watch the big ships and touring through the pits, and enjoyed getting to Tobermory to ride the Chi-Cheemaun. He spent plenty of time drinking a warm Canadian and was greatly interested in going to the Ritchie Bro’s Auctions.
Beloved husband of Wanda (Davey) Machan whom he married in 1971. Loving father of Sandra Machan and Tom Crowley, and Tammy Machan and John Newbigging. Dear son of Aldeen Machan. Brother of Bonnie Golightly and friend Phil Hudson, Fay Machan and Bob Mayberry, Gord and Joanne, Robert (Whitey), Russ, Gerald (Sam) and Roy.
