He was the chairman of the Lambton County Plowing Match (1973) and was a member of the Oakdale United Church. Beloved husband of the late Ruth (Miller) Williams (2010). Born in Chatham, son of Elgin Cowan and the late Rhoda (Leeson) Cowan. Beloved husband and best friend of Merril (Goldhawk) Cowan. Loving father of Jade (Andrew Carss), Hayley, Avery, and Hayden Cowan. Dear brother of Judy Dawson (Joe), Brenda Stover (Jack), Nancy Snobelen (Dan). Sadly missed by mother-in-law Jean Goldhawk (Irwin); brothers-in-law Ross Goldhawk (Lynda), Greg Goldhawk (Sharon), Dan Goldhawk (Deb), Valerie Paul (Brad). Loving grandpa of 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Gerard and Cecilia Vanderveen of Chatham. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Loving mother of Gary Cadotte, Rick & Mary Ann Cadotte, David & Tammy Cadotte, Tony & Debbie Drouillard, Tom & Tracy Drouillard, Sherry & Ray Guiher and Nancy & George Bagnall. Cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
