ROBERT LANGSTAFFLangstaff: Robert George (Bob) a resident of R.R. #2 Dresden passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at his home at the age of 72. Born in Dawn Township, son of the late Jane (Henderson) and George E. Langstaff.  Bob was a member and Elder of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Dresden, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Florence, Dawn-Euphemia Volunteer Fire Department, served on Dawn Township Council 1977 – 1991 and was Warden of Lambton County in 1987. He is survived by wife Jennifer Langstaff (nee Smith); daughter Laurie Langstaff (Rhonda) of St. Joseph’s Shores; son George Langstaff (Lynn) of Chatham; grandchildren Samantha Langstaff and Jake Langstaff (Tonia); sister Hilda Wylie (Reg) of Stittsville; niece Angela Wylie; nephew Michael Wylie (Leslie); step-children Vicky Wreford, Adam McMurphy (Juli) and Brent McMurphy (Shae Lynn) all of Oil Springs and step-grandchildren William and Owen. A Memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Dresden on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment of cremated remains in Dresden Cemetery at a later date. Loving wife of Doug and treasured mother to Savannah. Cherished daughter of Dave and Shirley Bolton and forever Big Sister to Scott. O’NeiLarry O'Neillll: W. Larry of Enniskillen Township, passed peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia. Born in Petrolia, son of the late Otto and Elsie O’Neill. He was a friend to all, a man of integrity, wisdom, a man of vision and a great listening ear. He was a community-minded man who always looked for opportunities to help and serve others. Larry was Reeve/Mayor of Enniskillen Township, 1989 Warden of Lambton County, Past-President of Petrolia Rotary, Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.# 216, Member of the Irish Benevolent Society, Past-Chair of the Oil Museum Foundation and involved in many other organizations in his community. Loving husband of Maureen (Fulcher) O’Neill for 47 years. Larry will be greatly missed by his daughter Chantelle and son-in-law Terry Sanderson of O’Fallon, Missouri and his son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Marcy O’Neill of Springside, Saskatchewan. His pride and joy were his five grand-daughters, Jendaya, Jadyn, and Jovanna Sanderson and Ana and Alia O’Neill. Born in Campsall, England, son of the late Arthur and Priscila (Shaw) Wilson. Kenn was a Veteran of W.W.II serving in the Royal Canadian Navy and retired from the Canadian Coast Guard in 1982. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.#367, Thamesville. Predeceased by his first wife Lois (Ives) and his late wife Phyllis (Holt) Wilson. Loving father of Ronald Wilson (Judy), Claudia Jaques (John) and Brett Wilson (Bonnie). Born in Chatham, son of the late Hector and Zita (Doyle) Charron. Alphonse was a seed corn dealer for many years and farmed all of his life, he retired in 2013. He was looking forward to a summer of camping with his family and friends. He was a member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Thamesville and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Alphonse devoted many hours over the years to the St. Vincent de Paul Children’s Camp. It was a labour of love. Beloved husband for 44 years to Doreen (nee Roberts) (Farrell) Charron. Loving father of Darryl Charron of Glencoe, Sharron Farrell (Harvey) of Strathroy, Greg Farrell (Debra) of Thamesville, Rob Farrell (Ann Marie) of Chatham and Mark Farrell (Sheryl) of Bothwell. There was a special place in his heart for each one of his “kids”. Proud Grandpa of Rebecca, Amanda (Dan), Christine, Nicole (Dustin), Josh, Ryan, Kylie, Haley and Taylor. Great-Grandpa to Leigha, Ethan, and Clayton and always remembered by Sabastian and Colton. Labadie: Harold W. Sr. a resident of Dresden and formerly of Wallaceburg passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Ann (Babin) Labadie. He is predeceased by his mother Violet, father Roy and step-father Alvin Foster. Loving father of Elaine Marentette (Ray), Harold Labadie Jr. (Cathy), Darcy Labadie (Luanne), Penny Vitek and Pam Labadie (Jody). Cherished grandfather of Stephen, Eric, Carolyn, Nick, Terri, Chasity, Shae-Lynn and Makayla. Proud great grandfather of Mya, Corinne and Caleb. Loving brother to Viola Landon (Ron) and Penny Daniels (Tim) and Ron Labadie. He is predeceased by sisters Nettie Smith and Ruby Solski. Harold was a member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 113. He proudly served with the Royal Canadian Airforce during World War II. Harold enjoyed hunting, golfing and fishing. HENRY PETERSRoesch: Henry John formerly of R.R. 2 Florence passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at CEE Hospital of Bluewater Health, Petrolia at the age of 93. Born in Chatham, son of the late John and Mary (Legue) Roesch. Hank had lived in Shetland for 50 years and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Oxford Rifles Medical Core, Prince Geroge. B.C.. He had owned and operated Howe’s Economy Foods Ltd. in Chatham and Thamesville. Hank will be spending his 94th birthday with his late wife of 69 years Gladys. He enjoyed every aspect of his life and lived it at full speed. Beloved husband of the late Gladys (Peters) Roesch (2011). Loving father of Linda Peters (Grant) of Florence, John Roesch (Janice) of Ancaster and Barbara Beckett (Ron) of Shetland. Sadly missed by grandchildren Annette Schliehauf (Chris), Don Beckett, KayLien Kruger (Wayne), Neela Peters, Beverly Girard (Trevor), John Roesch (Brandy) and 8 great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by brother-in-law Arthur McDermid of Owen Sound and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Helen McDermid and half brother Louis Cedar. Frank MajekMajek: Francis S. “Frank”, a resident of R.R. 4 Chatham, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Friday, October 18, 2013 in his 80th year. Born in Chatham Twp., son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Cerny) Majek. Frank farmed all his life in Harwich Twp., with his brother John. He loved sitting in the drive shed with his little dog Sarah, watching the cars and neighbours drive by. He also enjoyed spending time with his good friends Mark and Ruby. Dear brother of John Majek of R.R.4 Chatham. Also survived by two nieces. Predeceased by his twin sister Mary Kormendy (2010) and a nephew. The Majek family will receive friends at the John C. Lois JohnstonJohnston: Lois Kay a resident of R.R. 4 Dresden passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg at the age of 76. Born in Sarnia, only child of the late Hazel (Bobier) and Stanley Johnston of Bothwell. Predeceased by best friend “Buzz”. Survived by extended family Gerald McDonald, Karen Northcott, Lynn & Sue McDonald, Cathy & Jr. Kelly, Debrah Kearns, Dianne & George Copeland and families and the Johnston and Bobier cousins. Lois was Secretary to the Department of External Affairs. She was posted to London, England, Islamabad, Pakistan, Saigon, South Vietnam and Tel Aviv, Israel. Lois returned to Ottawa until retirement. She resided in Westport and Portland before moving to Dresden in 2005. Cremations has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
