After a hard battle with lung fibrosis, at Parkwood Hospital on Thursday April 6, Wayne McPhail in his 78th year. Dearly loved husband of Anne [Stafford] for 55 years. Loved father of Brenda and Bill Merkley, and Marilyn McPhail. Loving Grandfather to Bill, Katie and Angie, Great Grandfather to Mason and Jackson. Survived by his sister Jean McPhail, and brother-in law Doug Kirk. Predeceased by his sister Pauline Kirk. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Wayne lived all his life on the family “Hill Top Farm” on what was known as Hogg St, Dunwich township He was a long time crane operator, finishing his career with Ellis Don. Mary passed away peacefully on March 16, 2017 at her home in Iona surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband Willard of 62 years. Children Charles (Suzanne) of Iona Station, Elizabeth (Alan) of Welland and Patricia (Nigel) of Thornhill. Also 7 Grand children and 2 Great Grand children and her brother Charlie (Edith) Shelton of Folden’s Corners. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Beth Shelton and her brother Roger (Joan) of Pasadena. Cremation has taken place. Carl Edward Chamberlain, previously of Shedden, born June 26, 1927, passed away peacefully in his 90th year while surrounded by his family at the Bobier Villa on Monday January 9, 2017. Son of the late Roy and Lena [Mifflin] Chamberlain. He is survived by his wife of 63 years and best friend Kathleen [Firby], and his 5 children and their families; Debra [Dan] Logghe, and their children Karey [Jen], Jamie and Bryce; Patricia Stannard, and her children Beverly [Neal], Kimberly and Valerie; Karen Olmstead and her children Joe and Jeff; David [Catherine] and their children Charlotte, Marshall and McKenzie; Paul [Terri] and their children Douglas, Aidan and Ellie. He is also survived by a great granddaughter Makayla Lynn Logghe, his sister Jean [Ralph] Palmer, a very special niece Marilee [Steve] Annett, and other numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant twin children Douglas Allen and Judy Marie [1953], his brothers Clayton and Murray and his sister Dora McArthur. Carl farmed with his brother Clayton for 10 years, with Hugh Carroll in Cowal for 13 years,and was the meat-cutter at Palmer’s Red & White Supermarket for 27 years. He volunteered for the Shedden Community Centre, The Christmas Shoppe, VON, Meals on Wheels, and also proudly volunteered for 35 years with the Southwold Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was an active member of Bethany United Church until its closure and then Talbotville United Church. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to the Bobier Villa, Talbotville United Church or the Alzheimer Society. Special thanks to the staff of the Bobier Villa who provided tireless, supportive and compassionate care to Carl in the last year. Survived by her twins Addison and Pierce and their father Michael Emrich, her parents Neil and Joanne [Van Nuland] Bobier of St. Thomas, brother Bruce and Alana Bobier of Pine Plains N.Y., her grandparents Teresa and the late Carl Bobier of St. Thomas, Joe and Jean Van Nuland of Wallacetown and her many aunts, uncles and cousins. Peacefully on June 25, 2016 in his 82nd year at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Surrounded by his wife of 58 years Patricia (Lidster), children Wanda (Brad) London, Brian- Minto, Loretta – Wallacetown, Sandra (Doug) Wallacetown, Tim (Ann Marie) Dutton and Christopher (Christina) London. Also by his side were his 14 grandchildren Thomas, Jake (Michelle), Kayle, Jillian, Kodi, Shayla, Dakota, Austin, Keylana, Abi, Arisa, Lucas, Sawyer and Ivy. Predeceased by his parents Magnus and Teresa (DeGraw) Hansen, siblings Margaret, Rita and Neils and sister-in-law Virginia. Survived by brothers and sisters Alice (Goderich), Gord (Joan) Picton, Mary (Stan) St. Thomas, Gloria – Dutton, Gary (Nancy) Ingersol, Terry (Sue) London, Barb (Mike) Blenheim and in-laws Bob (Noreen) Red Deer, Mary – St. Thomas, Stan (Fran) Shedden), Bill (Jackie) Wallacetown, Charlene – Grand Prairie, Nancy (Bob) Duart, Elizabeth (Brian) Grimshaw and Rosie (Ron) London.
