Annette Marie Atton, of R.R. #3 Elmwood, slipped from the tethers of this earth peacefully with her loving family by her side at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday December 20, 2014. She was in her 62nd year.
Annette will be missed terribly by her husband Mark Atton, her children Chris (Cathy) Fidler of Thamesford and Angie Fidler of Chesley. Missing the opportunity to spend more time with their grandmother are her grandchildren; Logan, Austin, Tyson, Aiden, Rianne, and Gavin. Annette will be deeply mourned by her mother Peggy Ruff of Tara and her siblings June Birch of Alberta, Nancy DeVries, Bob (Marlene) Ruff and Tom (Mabel) Ruff, all of Tara. Annette will also be missed by the Atton family as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Family was very important to Annette and her loss will be felt immensely by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her father Jack Ruff.
In addition to her love of family, Annette also enjoyed the season of Fall, summer camping, Willie Nelson and Louie Armstrong, and the movie “Polar Express.” Annette was a deeply spiritual woman and worked hard at self-improvement and extending love, and help, to all those around her. Annette will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her caring and kind love, as well as her positive attitude!
A celebration of Annette’s life will be held at the Tara Legion on Saturday January 3, 2015 from 2-5 pm.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated by Annette’s family.
