Aszmies- Manfred of Iona Station passed away at his late residence on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in his 76th year. Dearly loved husband of Cristina (Thiessen) Aszmies and loving step- father of Sarah and husband Abraham Bueckert of St. Thomas, Mary and husband John Reimer of Leamington, David Teichroeb (Maria) of London, Kathrina Teichroeb (Jim) of Edmonton, Johnny Teichroeb of Chatham and Lena and husband Valter Melo of Leamington. Dear brother of Brigite Trumpa of Toronto, Adolf and wife Gloria Aszmies of Kitchener and by two sisters Monica and Rente both of Germany. Dear uncle of Gudrun Roux, Vitas Miknevicius, Rimas Miknev, Al Trumpa, Vitas Trumpa, Lima Trumpa, Robert Aszmies , Jamie Aszmies and other nieces, nephews and cousins. Proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren. Manfred was born March 13, 1939 in Germany. He retired from the Ford Motor Company, Talbotville Plant.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow. Visitation one hour prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Assoc.
