IMG_0457bRemy left us peacefully on August 18, 2014 from Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, too early at age 68. Her husband Ruud (Rudolf) as well as her daughter Monique & son-in-law Marco, and son Steven & daughter-in-law Tracey keep many happy memories. She enjoyed many visits by her grandchildren, Léa (from Monique & Marco) and Tyson, Siena and Logan (from Steven & Tracey), the youngest whom she felt fortunate and proud to still have met. She felt comforted by the visits of her beloved nephew Jeff, very dear to her.

Having left the Philippines at age 19, she will be dearly missed by her brother Charlie there, and here in Canada by her sisters Lolit (& Ed), Nena (& Mark), Bebot (& Jerry), and her brother Armando & sister-in-law and best friend Lina. Remy lived in The Netherlands for many years, where she met Ruud. She will be fondly remembered by Ruud’s family there and his sisters in Canada, as well as by her many friends here in Canada and around the world.

It was family, especially her children and grandchildren that Remy lived for, and in keeping with that a family celebration will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place as per her wishes.

We wish to thank everyone for their good wishes and support during these last four difficult months in hospitals in Barrie and Toronto.  Remy enjoyed the visits. The ICU team in Barrie was wonderful, allowing us almost 2 months of enjoyment while on the rehab floor at RVH. A very special thank you to Sylvia, for her help easing the last few days with the comforting environment at the Hospice. Thanks also to the Hospice team of nurses and volunteers. Rather than flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe, in Remy’s memory. Arrangements entrusted to Marshall W. Driver Cremation & Burial Service, 19 Ross St., Barrie. Condolences may be placed at
