Allman- William “Bill” H. of St. Thomas passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday June 27, 2012 at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital in his 68th year, after a short bout with cancer. Much loved husband for 42 years of Linda (Hayball) Allman and devoted father of Nicole M.V. Allman. Bill is survived by his sisters Pat (Ron) Laing, and Cathy (Bill) Nicol and by his brother Jack (Rosemary) Allman all of St. Thomas. He is predeceased by his sister Linda Harrington. Dear son- in- law of Margaret Hayball of Lambeth (the late George Hayball) and dear brother-in-law of Wayne (Noel Macartney) of Midland and Darlene Hayball of Brampton. Lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews and great nephews and nieces. Bill was born August 16, 1944 in St. Thomas the son of the late Richard and Viola (Dawdy) Allman. He worked for Revenue Canada as an auditor for over 35 years. Bill was a member of the Centennial Sports Club and an active member of the Long Point Community. Bill was an avid fastball player having played in the surrounding area and in the U.S.A. Longtime family friend “Old Uncle Russ Cole”. Bill enjoyed his cottage in Long Point and made many friends especially Jim Stark and family. “The fish may get a rest now”.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St Thomas where funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Andrews United Church, the Cancer Society or the charity of ones choice.
