Peacefully, on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Bluewater Health, Nancy Alber passed away at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Beatrice Goetz, husband Sonny (Adolph), daughter Patricia, sisters Mary, Bette and Joanne. She is survived by her beloved children Leo (Melissa), Mike (Katie), Janey (Scott) and Frieda (Tim) as well as 9 wonderful granchildren: Jessica, Patrick and Barbara Alber, Kyle and Taylor Alber, Jack and Rachel Harper, Jennifer and Kristen Peck. Also survived by her brother George and sister Barbara, as well as many nieces and nephews. Also Pokey (her gorgeous Boston Terrier) Pam, the Golf Bags, the Balderdash gang and Smelters of the World Arise; far too many friends to list. Born in Guelph, Nancy was a graduate of the University of Toronto and the University of Detroit. She was an avid reader, golfer, bridge and bugger player. Nancy left us knowing that she was loved, enjoying life to its fullest until the end.  She did it her way. Many thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at Bluewater Health for your exceptional care and compassion.  Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 1465 Lecaron Avenue, Sarnia, on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society or the Sarnia & District Humane Society will be appreciated.
