Lynda Lee Lauman
August 13, 1944 –
November 14, 2018

We are sad to announce the passing of a wonderful Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Auntie and Friend. Lynda passed away with her loving family at her side after a courageous battle with many complex health issues.

Lynda is survived by her children Kevin and Daylene Lauman, her granddaughter and the light of her life, Madeline Lauman, her brother Bud (Carlyle) and sister-in law Leasl White, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her parents Alphie and Jean Croteau, as well as her sister Leslie (Grant) Vouri.

Mom’s greatest love was her family; she would never hesitate to tell anyone how proud she was of her children and her special granddaughter, Maddie. We had many wonderful adventures together. Whether it was going for a simple drive in the country, shopping, Sunday night dinners, playing games, planting flowers, or memorable trips to favourite vacation spots (Hawaii was her absolute favourite), she loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed colouring and knitting.

Mom will be remembered for her courage, determination, perseverance and tenacity in overcoming many obstacles to enjoy the quality of life she always sought for herself and with her family. We will be eternally grateful for the gift of life and 16 years through organ donation; this gave Maddie the chance to know, love and learn with her Grandma. Special thanks to the incredibly compassionate staff at the Grey Nuns Hospital for doing all they could to make Mom’s last days as comfortable as possible and helping her to pass into the next life with dignity and grace. Thanks also to the numerous health care professionals who tended to her care over the years, and to the staff and friends she made at Ottewell lodge.

At Mom’s request, no service is planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider registering with the organ donor registry or donating to organ donor research: https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Pages/OTDRHome.aspx
