WEB_Chiasson_Elvina It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Melvina, peacefully at Hotel Dieu Hospital, on June 1, 2013 at 94 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Albani (2002). Loving daughter of the late Charles and Eugenie Duclos. Dearest sister of Yvonne Duclos of N.B., and Laura Losier. Predeceased by brothers Gustave, Germain, Alexis, Geoffrey, Adelard and Jean-Paul Duclos. Very special aunt of Armand and wife Cathy Losier and their children Bryan (Tejay) and Amy (Jerry), Alice and husband Dan Higgins and their children Joshua (Jessica), David and Thomas. Great-great aunt of Hayden Higgins. Melvina was a former school teacher in N.B., and she retired as a Health Records Technician from the Salvation Army Grace Hospital. Melvina was a member of Club Age D’Or Jean Paul II, The Federation French Canadian Women of Ontario and the Salvation Army Friendship Club. For the last 6 years Melvina was a resident of Season’s Royal Oak Village (LaSalle). We greatly appreciate your kindness, friendship and exceptional care in making it her home. A special thank you to the nurses on the 7th floor for their kindness and compassion. If you so desire, donations to the Canadian National Institute of the Blind or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. On Saturday family and friends will meet at St. Jerome Church (3739 Ypres) after 9:30am followed by funeral Mass at 10am. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
