Mildred Acheson – passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday October 17, 2017. She was born 87 years ago, a daughter of the late Percy and Elsie Annett.  She resided in Stratford and formerly farmed at RR2 Atwood, near Donegal with her beloved husband Jim who predeceased her in 2003.

Loving mother of Elaine and Kirk Riehl, Marilyn and Paul Clements and Janette and Warren Morrison. Special grandma of Keith and Andrea, Craig, Michael and Tanya, Jason and Jaci, James, Carly and great-grandma of Dannika and Mikaela.  Dear sister of Alice Vine.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by in-laws Bill Vine, Helen and Osmond Lines, Annie and husbands Douglas Cleland and Frank Quipp, Howard and Isabelle Acheson, Melvin and Julia Acheson, father and mother-in-law George and Bertha Acheson.

Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood, on Friday October 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment in Donegal Cemetery.

Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Watford Quality Care, on Monday, October 16, 2017, in her 86th year.  Beloved wife of the late Jack Brown.  Dear mother of Terry Brown (late Mary Ellen), Susan Joosten (Peter), and Dennis Brown (Marianne), and Donna Bateman (Terry.)  Daughter of the late Howard and Mae Wakefield.  Much loved grandmother of J.J., Terry and Angela Brown, Brent and Netti Clements, Amelia and Nathaniel Brown, Sonya Joosten and Amanda Denys, and 10 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by her sisters Edith Mellon (Don), Evelyn Brock (Dick), Mary Leckie (late Bruce), and Janet Beerninck (Leo), and her brother Laurence Wakefield (Lois).  Predeceased by her brothers Murray Wakefield, Jack Wakefield (late Joyce), and her sister Elizabeth Ryan (late Tom).  Also survived by her brothers-in-law Gerald Brown, Ron Brown (Diane), Bob Brown (Wendy), and her sister-in-law Nell Romelda.

NAYLOR, Ruby of RR3 Monkton

Ruby Naylor – of RR3, Monkton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday October 17, 2017 at the age of 75. Ruby was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Monkton where she was the church organist for many years.  She enjoyed quilting for missions and charities where she developed many close friendships.  Ruby enjoyed her life on the farm, spending time walking, caring for her cats, but most of all cherished time spent with her family.

Beloved wife of William (Bill) Naylor whom she married in 1965.  Loving mother of Ernie (Leslie), Beth Sorensen (Tom), Ken (Angela) and Jerry. Special grandma of Josh, Daniel, Ben, Dana, Alexander and William.  Sister of Muriel Gottfried.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Alex and Hilda (Krotz) Wolfe, her sister Gertrude and husband Robert Brisbin, brother Harold and brother-in-law Andrew Gottfried.

In keeping with Ruby’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Micheline Gareau Bélanger from Chute-à-Blondeau passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the age of 68. She was the daughter of Oscar Gareau and of Pauline Normand; the cherished mother of Nathalie (Christian Denis); the loving grandmother of Mathis Patenaude; the dear sister of Denise (Gaëtan Clermont) and Marie-Claude ( Michel Souligny). She also leaves the father of her daughter, Jean-Claude Bélanger and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and her companion of life, Réal Dufour.

LEIS, Marie (Erb) 1921-2017 – died at Nithview Community on Monday October 16, 2017 of age related illness. Born in Wellesley Township to Joseph R. and Mary (Nafziger) Erb.  She was a life partner in dairy farming with her late husband Gordon (1982) in Perth County where they raised their family, Glennis (Mark Yantzi), James (Rosella Gerber), Murray (Marilyn Roes), Merlin (Angela Kindler), Paul (Charlene Martin) and Gloria (Dale Freeman).  She will be missed by grandchildren Michael Yantzi (Marsha Taylor), James Yantzi, Rebecca Minor (Patrick), Shannon Leis, Maria Leis, David Leis, Scott Leis (Nicole) Victoria Leis (Alex), Erin Freeman, Alexander Freeman (Racheal), Nickolas Freeman (Kristen) and great grandchildren Laine, Lexi, Liam, Gracelyn May, Noa and Amos.  Also surviving are brother-in-law and sister-in-law Omer and Erma Leis and many nieces and nephews.  She was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her sister Frieda (John G. Erb), and brothers Ervin (Erma, Mary Gingerich) and Joe (Mabel).  Also predeceased by in-laws Leroy and Vera Leis and Marion Bender Leis.

Marie had an amazing capacity to remember names and faces of those she met throughout her lifetime even in these later years with dementia. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting and for some years worked as a Red Cross Homemaker.

A special thanks to the staff at Nithview Community for their care and compassion shown to our mother in these later years.

Marie was a lifelong member of Maple View Mennonite Church in Wellesley Township where a private family burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.   Memorial visitation will be held at Maple View Mennonite Church, 5074 Deborah Glaister Line on Saturday October 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. where the memorial service will be held on Sunday October 29, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Brent Kipfer officiating.

Ellie Taylor, 84 years old, born in 1933, passed peacefully on October 14th with her family by her side. Predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Gerry (2011). Loved and cherished by her children Stephen (Michele) of Calgary, Greg (Selene) of Barrie and Kelly (Jamie) of Atlanta, Georgia. Loving grandmother to Caitlin, Taylor, Ted, Grace, William and Sunny (the poodle). Loving great grandmother to Simon. Ellie had room in her heart for anyone she met and was quick to welcome people into her home and her life. Her friends spanned the generations. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to Ellie’s caregivers at Amica for their warm and loving care and assistance. A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 4th at 2pm at Midhurst United Church (Midhurst, Ontario) with visitation at 1pm and a reception to follow. McDEVITT: John Gerald

age 91 of Barrie, Ontario. We, the family of John McDevitt, are saddened to announce his sudden passing which occurred on October 16, 2017. Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia he was the last surviving child of the late Charles and Dorothy (nee Morrell) McDevitt. He was predeceased by his brother Lawrence, an infant brother, sisters Mary, Lillian, Catherine as well as his niece, Anne Guinan. He is survived by his devoted wife Carol, daughter Susan (David) Mayers, grandson Wade, who was his reason for living; along with Guinan nieces and nephews in Calgary, St. Augustin Quebec and Truro, Nova Scotia. John left his beloved Yarmouth with his family and moved to Etobicoke when he was transferred by Beecham Canada Ltd. Known as the “Minard’s Linament Man” he brought the formulation from the Minards plant in Yarmouth to Ontario. He retired from Smith Kline Beecham after more than 48 years service. Before leaving Yarmouth, John bowled with a local bowling league and he was a dedicated volunteer firefighter, once saving a llama from a docked and burning circus ship. An enthusiastic gardener, John was also a devoted Toronto Blue Jays fan from the team’s inception. He loved to watch the games regardless of if he was at home or at the family cottage at Sebim Beach in Nova Scotia. He looked forward to travelling back to Yarmouth every summer since relocating to Ontario in 1967, only missing one summer trip due to an unfortunate hospitalization. Visitation will be held at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 o’clock a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. A graveside committal service will occur next summer at the Mountain Cemetery in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Jose Vasconcelos Camara of Strathroy passed away at the age of 85.  Loving husband of Ines Camara (nee Mendonca) for 54 years.  Beloved father of Nelson (Karla) Camara.  Devoted grandfather of Issac Camara.  Forever remembered by his siblings, extended family and friends.  Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY (519-245-1023) on Thursday, October 19th from 7-9 pm.  Vigil Prayers will be prayed at 8:45 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Friday, October 20th at 11:30 am with Fr. Thomas Blondin officiating.  Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or to All Saints Church.  Online condolences accepted at www.denning.ca

DUVAL: Rita of Hawkesbury

Mrs. Rita Duval from Hawkesbury passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the age of 82. She was the beloved wife of the late Lionel Duval; the daughter of the late Arthur Bourbonnais and of the late Marguerite Cott; the cherished mother of Claude (Micheline), Rachel, Claudette, Denise (Jean) and Claire (Raynald); the loving grandmother of André (Mélissa), Jérémie (Tammy), Marie-Claude (Jean-Luc), Francesca (Mathieu), Yanick (Linda), Jonathan (Vanessa), Benoit (Cindy), Patricia (Jean-François) and Chloé (Maxime); the great grandmother of 10 grandchildren; the dear sister of Clara Duval (late Omer) and Georges Bourbonnais. She was predeceased by one son, Roger (Diane), 3 brothers: Léo (Noëlla), Omer, Henri and 3 sisters: Emma, Eva and Noëlla. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Yvette Duval Lemay and many nephews, nieces and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the McGill Manor Phase 1 and the Hawkesbury General Hospital for the excellent cares given.

Relatives and friends are invited to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416, McGill Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877) 632-8511, Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and also on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 9 a.m. The funeral service will be held at St-Grégoire-de-Nazianze Church in Vankleek Hill on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Vankleek Hill Âge d’Or Club.

Passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side on October 8, 2017 at the age of 58.  Beloved wife and best friend of Mitch for 39 years.  Cherished mother of Aimee (Darren) and Matthew (Samantha).  Loving nana of Connor and Mitchell. Beloved daughter of the late Bernard and Isabelle Bezaire.  Dear sister of Elizabeth, Janet (Mark Patterson) and Robert.  Daughter in-law of Theresa Bellefleur and the late Walter.  Sister in-law of Dan Bellefleur (Lynn) and Lucile (Bob Cote). Moore, Larry

Passed away peacefully on October 8, 2017 at 77 years of age. Beloved husband of Bonnie for 24 years. Loving father of Terry Moore (Sandy), Karen Jamieson (Scot), Jason Desjardens (Celine).  Step father of Heather Muise (Matt Egan).  Cherished Grandfather of Kimberly Moore, Amanda Jamieson and Shane Jamieson.  Great grandfather of Savana, Damien, Jordan and Addison.  Dear brother of the late Harry  the late Helen, the late Betty,  Niles, Audrey, and Darlene.  Will be missed by nieces and nephews.   Larry retired from Ministry of Health Ambulance Service, after being involved in many different capacities over his 40 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed his retirement years spending time at his trailer in Bancroft with family and friends. In memory of Larry’s great nephew Nicholas Robinet   donations to the Spina Bifida Association of Ontario appreciated by the family. ROBINSON, George Thomas

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Violet (nee Bendeck). Loving father of Richard “Rick” (Kathy), David (Indira) and Susan (David). Cherished grandfather of Thomas, Joshua, Karline, Madeleine, Scott, Jackson, and Brady. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Louella Robinson. Brother of Leslie Robinson and the late Jacqueline Fultz (the late Charles). Brother-in-law of John Bendeck (the late Donna) and the late Gloria Phin (the late Ken). Uncle to Michelle Butler, Jerry Bendeck, and Sean Robinson. George will be missed by many extended family and friends. An employee of the Windsor Utilities Commission for 40 years, in his retirement George enjoyed golfing, curling, travelling, and most of all spending time with his family. LEPAIN, William Joseph “Bill”

Passed away suddenly on October 9, 2017 at 87 years of age.  Cherished husband of Shirley (nee Plant) for 64 years.  Devoted father of Tim (Pauline), the late Chris (Kathy), Sherry Panella (the late Renato), Billy (Michelle) and Lisa Gallant (Mike).  Loving grandpa of Jason, Jeff, Kristen, Amy, Jen, Chris, Tiffany, Mallory, Morgan, Josh, Jacob, Mikayla and 15 great grandchildren. Brother of Ken (Caro), Theresa Hennin (the late Ron), Donna Mae Curtis (Edmund) and Joyce Marencie.  Predeceased by Russell and Phyllis Lepain.  He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.  Bill retired from Chrysler Canada as a Mill Wright with 32 years of dedicated service.  He was a past volunteer fire fighter with Sandwich South FD for many years.  Bill will be greatly missed for his handy man skills.  If you so desire, donations to Heart and Stroke or the Windsor Regional Hospital Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
